Iron Sting Mortar | How it Works | Israel Gaza

- The soldier enters precise longitude codes loads the Iron Sting round into the launcher tube.
Upon the round striking the firing pin, it activates the detonators, subsequently triggering the previously mentioned propellant charge.
The more charges used, the greater the round's travel distance.
The propellant charge propels the Iron Sting out of the launcher.
It's essential to keep in mind the fins, which extend from both the front and rear of the mortar and collaborate seamlessly with the guidance sections to steer the missile toward its designated coordinates.
We will also be looking at the parts of the Iron Sting missiles and how it work, and not to forget the second mode of laser designation method so stay tuned and Don’t miss a beat

anti palestine or anti semitic ? anti zionism is ok I take it
or do u conflate any criticism of israel as anti semitic?
@@MrFFSMAN They aren't the same thing, but go find me any Hamas supporter or Anti-Zionist in general who doesn't inevitably blame all Jews, and supports killing all Jews. They are few and far between. Maybe if most anti-zionists truly only hated zionism and not jews in general people wouldn't conflate it to anti-semitism
Good work. Juat a clarification: Israel critic is not critic of judaiam. Please google jews against israel for example.

For once a comment I think the whole world would agree on
One thing Dude jews are not semites but arabs are
Also great video
Great video great info no annoying snap track or end music blaring so I can’t hear anything good times
Im really surprised the how good these animations are,is not even an official army channel like Lockeed Martin and still make 99% better animations.
Sometiimes the undergogs are way better than the pros :)

The M-113 is an amazing vehicle.
One day in Iraq my LT told me to rotate one we were using to block a wall we drove one through during a civil affairs mission.
With zero training I hopped in the driver's seat, read the how to stickers, and understood how to operate it.
Instead of just rotating in place I rotated it by going on a joy ride around the block by myself laughing the whole time.
It was awesome.
honestly can't blame you.
The LT is now CHIEF OF STAFF?
@@e.a.corral4713
...No.
Gorgeous weapon. Brilliantly engineered guidance system to avoid unnecessary collateral damage.
Extremely expensive, it's probably close to 50.000$ per round.
"Avoid unnecessary collateral damage", huh
There is no colateral damage in war dude, they aim it to them, dont be so naive
@@ariffurqan9862 no collateral damage in war? That's a new one I've not heard yet. Innocent people have been caught in the crossfire of pretty much every war, and they often weren't the intended target
@@cat_clan_leader they got caught in crossfire? Man the soldier bring the war to them, dont be so naive bro
Very detailed and with great animations. Nice job 👍
Thanks
I'm getting the impression that Israel really likes the word iron.
as an israeli i also think its over used
They like the words Gold and diamond also.
Great explanation. Not too simple, not too complex. Thanks!

Su-25
Simple, to the point, complete. Each of you vids is an astonishing gem, thanks.
Very detailed animation and explanation.
Glad you think so!
Nice video! Would have liked to understand more about late detonation and penetration without destroying the components needed to detonate the explosives.
This is a very cool unit. It would be a privilege being on the recieving end of it to enjoy its effectivness.
Based on the range listed (and explosive charge weight) in the video, I'm guessing the Iron Sting is a 120mm mortar round.
Yes you are right.
Which mean that thing is a Soltam K6
The animations and graphics were top notch!
Great work as always 👍
Very informative - excellent!
You make such good animation you are the GOAT (Greatest Of All Time)

well done telly.. as always 🔥

I very much enjoyed your video and I gave it a Thumbs Up

Yay I really wanted to see this . Thx ❤❤
Awesome 👍
Great and simple video 👍
Splendid, this will certainly keep my share prices looking chipper. 👍
I was an 11C (mortars) for 4 years & had often thought something like this should be possible, but figured they didn't bother cause it was too expensive for a simple mortar round. Glad to see I was wrong.
The price of electronics is going down, the next stage is autonomous guidance...
The rate of fire was wayyy to slow to be effective. We had these rounds for a bit. They might be accurate. But slow rate of fire makes it useless to be effective.
@@danielpickrell8311 They are a precision round, so they are effective for that. Even with regular rounds the sustained rate of fire for the tube after the first two minutes isn't really impressive anyway.
@@11C1P 16 rounds 1st minute, 4 rounds sustained for every minute after. But a good mortar squad, FDC with a good FO can do the same job, same accuracy with higher rate of fire.
@@danielpickrell8311 I guess you got a special tube made from materials that won't turn it red, eh, slick?
Totally cool, with laser guidance probably has ability to hit moving targets as well.
There is a mission called Time on Target which is meant for moving vehicles.
Awesome 👍🏻👍🏻
Nice research

Thank you for everything you do for your fans, if I had disposable income I would pay you, hopefully one day I'm able to
Excellent narration & animations. The “blue” army (3:45) has an advantage using this weapon system.
This weapon has proximity fusing, as well as impact fuse, and delayed impact fuse. This allows the round to explode above a target, instead of possibly having its explosive energy absorbed by soft ground, or building walls, or, say, vehicles in a parking lot... instead, it pops off just above, and depending on charge design, can blast down onto targets, and, with shaped changes, penetrate deeper into even armored vehicles.
Love from india...❤️
Thanks
@Aitelly welcome bro.
Right On
GREAT Very Interesting I was the Charger and shooter on a 120mm. Swiss Minen-werfer (MORTAR) in 1996 during my army class in Switzerland.... incredible how the munition is developed and became precise and power full. I always found something funny with Swiss model, is that after charging the tube I used to pull a rope to fire, it was not automatic launch when the mortar hit the bottom of the tube, have you seen mortar fired like that ? we'll keep goin with your videos they are so interesting ....BRAVO
So this mortar is basically a smaller version of GLSDB with shorter range and having laser guidance system ?
Yes but it is difficult to build in a small scale
Can you please do the Tu-160?❤
Please make video how works the krashuka and EA 18 grawler both for electrónic warfare
How can it penetrate double reinforced concrete without having great mass or speed? Doesn’t sound plausible.
That's what the Israeli wrote

What amazing Video you make do you mind sharing how you make this animations or what softwares you use, I would like to make a presentation in this kind of animation! Thanks
Great videos! Can you do a video about nuclear submarines?
God bless and protect Israel! They sure make some awesome tools over there to save innocent lives.
Some minor points and a question
1). Very impressive animation.
2). A mortar is the weapon and it fires a bomb, not a round.
3). Another common term for firing and then changing positions to avoid counter battery fire is “shoot and scoot”. My favorite as it just sounds good.
Q1) If the bomb only weighs ~35 pounds does delay fuzing really provide improved penetration against reinforced concrete? Personally I can’t see it doing much more than penetrating an extra inch or three of plain old cement. Reinforced concrete is a whole different animal requiring traumatically higher levels of energy to penetrate.
It must be dangerous to stand right next to that thing while it fires like in the animation. lol Great explanation and demonstration.
great video next time also mention costs og these weapons , as all wars are banker wars ;)
Great video
Thanks!
Please do a video on the Valkyrie drone and weapons it will use
Make a video on kornet atgm
I'm pretty sure that the observer doesn't use any voice radio, nor does the firing unit listen to voice commands or write down on paper. The whole process is digital using the IDF "Hunter" digital control system. A fire task is submitted and executed over digital link.
Make a video on how does a French AMX Leclerc works
It has a second guided system that based on GPS, that the crew can upload the target location to the round from a computer. I'm not sure how a much bigger & heavier round has twice the distance than a standard mortar shell. If it involved more propellant material inside the mortar, why they can't do the same with the regular rounds?
The problem with all guided munitions is they always produce a doughnut shaped blast. Not bad if landing nose perfectly down. But if the nose lands at an angle, targets directly in fore & aft of the munition have a much lower probability of destruction than targets to the sides.
Imagine this with swing-out wings and an FPV camera. A forward oberver with game-controller and FPV goggles could give it visual terminal guidance, perhaps even have it loiter a bit in a descending circle.
to fast for humans to directly control its going 100-200m/s
@@woltews no, it would be controllable by a human at 100-200 m/s. That is slower than most ATGMs used by modern militaries, such as the TOW (278-320 m/s), which is essentially visually guided. It is also about the speed at which the A-10 thunderbolt flies at (~500-600km/h or 139-166 m/s) and an A-10 pilot could definitely control his plane in a suicide attack.
wow 👍👍👍
Question?
Is it possible to put ethylene oxide in these, to go farther into the bunker, to deplete the oxygen levels?
We are not that Smart to answer your Question. I failed in Chemistry Class

The answer is YES they do, Ethylene oxide is considered a carcinogenic, and yes it causes damage to human breathing.@@Aitelly
Thank you so much for your awesome videos and contact 🇵🇸😉
Do you support hamas?
@@Z1-oo693 what you think 🤔 🤔 🤔 ?! absolutely yes 💯 without even think about it
How much does an Iron Sting round costs versus a conventional mortar round? How much bigger is the warhead and kill zone?
Abouts 70 virgins
I don't think the cost is what matters but more on its effectiveness in combat. You have to make sure fins aren't bent and you have to load the laser code before you can fire. That is each round. The time it takes to fire one, you can fire an immediate suppression mission of 12 rounds HR delay using a converge mission to hit the building. You'll get the building and any enemy troops within a 50-300 meter spread depending on how you want to do it.

How do you get the fading of object to show the inside one? By Blender itself? Anyway congratulations!
We render 6 seperate layers and used After Effects with Opacity -
We just switched from Autodesk Maya to Blender 2 years back.
Still getting the hang of it. btw we hate Maya Software
🤣
Layers in Blender or in After Effects? Can I help you in realizing the simplest objects for you and for free? I only want to learn.
thats great to see, this one have JUST been fielded.
i believe lockheed or general atomics (cant remember which tbh) made a similar concept but with a trilateral shell and tiny wings deploying. pretty crazy. but it's still in development (not much info around as far as i know) and it's for the 155mm artillery. dumb artillery shells are becoming a thing of the past on urban warfare. in 20-30 years it'll probably be prohibited to use it
Чем дальше развивается прогресс в области высокоточных вооружений, тем больше вероятность перенесения боев в космос, для уничтожения спутниковых группировок, которые осуществляют навигационное обеспечение высокоточного оружия.
They have been fielded before back in 08-09 we had some of these rounds.
