I am completely drenched in tears of joy. She is the closest thing to perfect for me. Without being boring. Ever. Just gets me in the feels. Every single time. Wow.

What a great performance! I love when a singer uses her individual gifts and strengths to build a character. I love the way Lisette varies the repeat of the cabaletta. She starts the repeat at a softer volume, singing with noticeably more legato. It’s more inward. Which helps make the point that Violetta is really having a dynamic inner dialog with herself. The roulades are silky smooth, with just enough thrust to make them actual fioritura. (Lisette knows that this isn’t Mozart, and it shows.)
I love that she releases the high C as Verdi wrote it. For what it’s worth, I’ve never liked the octave drop that sopranos often do. IMO it ruins the line and makes it sound a little too vulgar.
The end of the cabaletta is fabulous. Lisette plays with the rhythm of the ascending scales, underscoring the “LIBERA.” The Cs are ideally placed. You hear them and you think, “Yes, this Violetta is feelin’ herself right now. I know she’s gonna let that E-flat rip.” Next thing you know, Lisette lets the high E-flat rip. It’s well placed and free. Not forced at all. I LOVE THIS. Siiiiing, Lisette!!

It amuses me greatly how fond of yourself you are Ms. Oropesa. Just to make things clear, singing the notes does not mean great singing. There is nothing silky nor smooth about this type of very ugly singing.

I agree that she shows the internal dialog well & her performance is very convincing & moving. I see she has picked up a tip or two from Callas - kicking off her shoes as Callas did in Tosca.

I just looked up the vocal score that I hadnt read for 50 years. There is of course no high E flat written in the original score & the ending has been changed as the singing is continuous right to the end of the aria.

Siiiiiiiiing!! I swear she is an implant from the golden age. NOONE is singing at the level she is singing at. She gives part Moffo part Sills vibe IMO. Superb singing and acting!!!!

I have the pleasure and the honuor to meet Her in Madrid during these unforgottable performances.
She is not only the BEST soprano of our times, being the "Voice of God singing to an amazed world". She is charming at personal treat, humble, elegant, funny, closer: she is the opposite to a Diva. That makes Her even better.
    Gracias Lisette por tu Arte

I think it was pretty much improvised :D
If I remember correctly, the theatre asked her to bring a black dress so that they could put a cape on it.

Aunque es una gran cantante creo que no es rol para ella, pero claro...
