WORLD CUP DAY 4 - THE FINAL!!!!

- The biggest day of the week, THE FINAL. Didn't quite have the practice I wanted, made a few silly mistakes which I hoped to fix in the final but sadly that was all taken away from me with a stupid flat tire. Absolutely gutted to get one at this UCI Downhill World Cup, felt happy on the bike and really wanted that sub 3 minute time but it sadly wasn't to be. Just gotta try at the next one and show everyone that I've still got the skill at my wise old age.
Watching the final from the bottom was insane, the top boys putting out insane times and all so insanely close to each other, was an awesome watch. Loved every second of being back on the World Cup circuit and can't wait for the next one already.

For me, you're one of the best riders I've ever seen and a role model for younger riders. Age is just a number, I'm 49 and riding the hardest I've ever done and loving every minute of it. People like you encourage people like me to keep riding and pushing myself.

You're far from old by my standards! I'd be interested to know what changes from being the oldest and most experienced in the class to the young ones. Are they just fearless? I'd imagine your fitness and commitment is up there with the best. Why is it that these young kids are so so fast.
At a guess I'd say the young ones have a completely different level of professionalism. Not to say Brendog isn't professional. But the kids today probably don't drink and train hard all the time. It's not a fun thing with them, it's a job.
Remembering old MTB videos and hearing stories of what the riders got up to after the races, it sounded like a right laugh. Now I suspect it's very different. The same has happened in MotoGP.
Brendog always looks like he's enjoying the riding, the kids look like they're at work and doing a job.
At the end of the day it's the money which changes it. In some ways not for the better.

The day we reach the technology when tires are solid, light, and no longer need air, will be a beautiful day.
As long as we have airs in our tires we'll have punctures.
@@jg2408 It'll happen in gravel first I think. Maybe Marathon XC. The weight penalty will have to be less than the weight of the spare tube, pump/CO2, and all that while having the same performance. For DH it'll be a tough change, since to change "pressure" you'd need to swap whole tyres over.

your starting to cold, I see it all the time as riders get older, they dont retain heat until way into the ride. younger have higher metabolisms. Try a warmer next run, something that heats your body before riding. start hot and watch how much better you ride in the cold.
