Vince Mendoza & WDR BIG BAND - Noche Triste

The WDR BIG BAND features Andy Haderer on trumpet with the musical piece "Noche Triste" (K. / A. Vince Mendoza). Marcio Doctor plays as guest on percussion. Chief Arranger Vince Mendoza leads the WDR BIG BAND in the "Composer in Residence" concert, recorded live at the Kölner Philharmonie (November 2017).
Already since the 1990s, the U.S. - American composer, arranger and jazz musician Vince Mendoza has been working closely with the WDR BIG BAND. A line was drawn under this "wild marriage" in 2016 and Vince Mendoza was appointed chief arranger of the WDR BIG BAND. Mendoza knows the WDR Big Band like no other, he knows very well how to fully exploit the potential of each band member with his delicate art of composition. Now Vince Mendoza presents new "material" that he has written for "his" big band.
