What a wonderful shambles. And congrats on your collab with Konstantin - the only two CZcams wine channels I follow regularly.
That was crazy.
Aw shucks! Thank you so much!!!!
Thats some good nerdy wine-tube entertainement right there. Love the vibe! Now that you got Konstantin tasting your recommendations, I would love to see a video of you guys tasting and rating his recommendations from Germany!
This would be epic, wouldn't have to be from Germany imo just EU wines which KB thinks would blow their minds :P
How much fun! Henry really is the king of guessing how much a wine probably costs, even if he can’t always identify the grape! Never ceases to impress me. Kudos to Brendan for recognizing Pinot right away.
On a side note, Chacra Pinot Noir goes for around $38 USD here, which I think is equivalent to around $55ish for you gents? Crazy markup on the Patagonian wine!
Love blind tasting. So humbling. Would love to hear your thoughts on screw caps. Thanks gents.
I found Dagger Pinot here in Ontario Canada for 18 bucks, unreal recommendation gents. Thanks!
German Pino has for me the best value for Price .
Salwey GG 47€
absolutely Beautiful
Very true, some excellent stunning Salwey pinots with minerality and tannin
I was like ehh until you mentioned Salwey, what a phenomenal producer in terms of price quality. Absolute beast
Love the content and concept lads ❤️❤️
Love this versus format!!
Think this format (price point pairing, local vs other) is the best one yet bois. Hope to see more of it.

Pinot Noir is a tricky grape to guess correctly and when you throw in price points and terroir it gets even more challenging. Well done, lads.
Ah thank you so much! It was definitely one that tested the crew, that's for sure! How good that a bargain could come out of it?!
Amazing, what a great episode! I never buy wine for under 40 bucks here in Australia and yet really tempted to try that Pinot!
Honestly, highly highly recommended - took us all by surprise!
Less expensive wines are often pop and pour. Expensive wines are lovingly crafted and take more cellar time to open up and round into their own. I have seen the $25 bottle beat the stuffing out of a closed down shy $90 bottle. I never did hear what vintages you were dealing with but it sure sounded like they were all young.
They were all current release - which begs an entirely other question: why aren't wineries pre-maturing wines before release so they look their best? Why is it the customer's job?
Please, please keep making videos. We need these in our world. Reminds me of that Dutch channel Drugslab, but with wine :)
Haha! We LOVE that we've just been compared to Drugslab haha!
Good fun. Get some Alsace or Loire Pinots in there next time!
Oh damn you guys got destroyed, loved the video!
Awesome video as usual guys! Just wanted to tell you that you should look into some SEO or positioning in youtube.. if I search for wine stuff, even being subscrived and watch a lot of your videos, they never show up in the suggestions/searches... it's kinda strange. Cheers!
That's remarkable feedback - thank you so much! We're not too sure why that's the case - we'll look into it!
It would have been interesting to see how these performed in bigger glasses with some time to breathe. Perhaps the expensive bracket would have shone more.
Try Hoddles Creek , the Wickhams Road label less than $20 🎉 best Cheap Pinot year in year out consistently good,
Great in some vintages. Cheers
Ooh a best of the best of the cheapest Pinot we can find??
Do it👍
Please, dare you! Ad Hoc Cruel Mistress Pinot Noir punches as well. Can still get some great old oak aged pinots
Narkoojee entry level pinot also epic at $35 but drinking well above
I have a feeling we have to do this video now!@@jrey7171
not into that glass as much bring back the old one or even upgrade that. but great content!
I had the entry level Bodega Chacra Pinot a bunch last year, 35$ CAD and one of the best value Pinot Noir's I've had. I almost splurged on the high end one, guess I'm glad I didn't!
💯 agree on this. We actually reviewed that exact same wine on an earlier episode and thought it was an $80 Burgundy. Stunning stunning wine.
I had Barda by Chacra a month ago, I thought it was very elegant and complex but clearly more fruit focused than the Burgundy alternatives. I find it hard to believe anything they make isn't expertly crafted but I guess that's just how it can be
That's the one! Utterly amazing wine - underrated! @@itsmederek1
Was hoping to see Romanee Conti here 😂
Oh mate! If only we were rolling with a Konstantin Baum budget!!!!
Riposte is a ripper
glassware may have been an issue here
Definitely a true statement! Although - if the glassware means the cheap stuff tastes good...is that really an issue??
The wines are too young. Not sure if they have been opened for at least 1 hour. Also these guys’ tongues grew up braised in Aussie wines (except Tassie wines).
Couldn't agree more - although, 90% of all wine purchased is consumed within 2 hours of purchase - perhaps an entirely different video needed to see the affect of age?
Pro tip for blind tasting, let the wines breathe before performing said tasting. You'll get a more honest portrayl of what youre drinking.
It certainly seems that way, especially for Pinot Noir!
Tell you what....I'll take $10 (or less) Yellow Tail Pinot and be very happy. I'll save more $ for German Spatburgunder or Finger Lakes Pinot (good acid structure).
Subbed. 👍
BAHAHA
Pinot tasting, let's use BIGGE..., no, wait! SMALLER glasses! Great idea! Also, King Henry! Patagonia Pinot expert.
HAHA! Honestly, it was more a case that the bigger ones weren't clean, and we were being lazy on the day - had we known it was Pinot before the tasting (because it's 100% double blind) - we would have made a very different call!
Please do an episode where you blind taste wines that aren’t natural wines.
None of these were natural wines.
LOLLLLLL 2 tru. Actually quite the opposite with overpriced oldworld @@ericmorris5866
