Thanks for watching, and welcome to 2021! If all goes to plan, the GameCube will be the next system covered in this series.
Hell yeah love you guys!
I absolutely love this series. 💙
would you guys consider doing ps vita sometime?
I suggest you to Review the PS2 Launch Titles and Sega Mega Drive Launch Titles
Love this videos!!! Make the same but with the last games for each console!!
Air Combat was fantastic!
But i’m here for “Oh yeah, here we go, sports time!”
A welcome return :)
You should review the last game or the last 10 games of a console.
pretty sure they would all always be ten consecutive years of soccer games. FIFA 2005 came out on PS1 and PES 2014 was the last PS2 game. likely because second world countries love their futbol and poor access to newer consoles.
Well if that's true we'll have plenty of "Oh yeah, here we go, SPORTS TIME!"
And Just Dance
@@RocKnight11 I’ve played a *insert sport here* game before, but I haven’t watched *insert sport here* ,so I’m gonna give it everything I’ve got.
Agreed. Make this happen. I need more videos. Make it final eleven games so that #11 can be the soccer and/or dance game.
Oh boy here we sports, go time.
oh sports here we go, boy time
@@opedrodubois I was confused now I’m just retarded.
Oh time, here we sports, boy go!
Oh sports, we go here time, boy.
Oh time, we here sports, go yeah!
Edit : I think it was supposed to be "Oh yeah" but well, I can go with this instead.
What I loved most about this era were the demo discs that came in magazines...how many hours have I spent on those things!
Same!
@@P__114 i sold free feet pics on those demo discs back in the day
Poor people be gaming
Hands down my favorite series on your channel, I dread the day when there are no more launch lineups to play
No please please don't say that
As of today, the only consoles left is the NES, Virtual Boy, Wii U, Nintendo switch, Ps4, Ps Vita, Xbox One, Series x, Ps5, Atari 2600, 5200, Lynx, Jaguar
@@Detective_L Don't forget about the Ouya!
As mindless as the Xtreme sports was I spent hours and hours on it. Fond memories
It is honestly one of my favourite PS1 games.
@@xplicitfishin I used games like cool boarders and jetmoto to fill that Niche for me until Tony Hawk came out LOL
Legacy vs Cappuccino
The most intense match in the history of tennis.
I remember putting in Battle Arena Toshinden as my first PS1 game that I got for Christmas, although I recieved Crash Bandicoot and Mortal Kombat Trilogy as well. I still don't know why I chose to play BAT first, but here we are.
Oh I love that game.
The hype for Toshinden was insane at the time
"Eight traveling fighters, all brought together by a common destiny, now meet at the Battle Arena Toshinden". God damn I played the hell out of this game. I still remember vividly the day I realised the cd audio was on the disc and I could record Eijis them tune on to tape. I wore that tape out.
Watching you playing Ridge Racer is a pain. 1st, this is played in cockpit view and 2nd, the controls are awesome. Did you never play it before?
@Sasqautch The controls were dreadful, especially compared to the arcade version and especially compared to Daytona which at the time was the Ridge Racers rival in the arcade driving market. The controls were not responsive enough which let the game down, Daytona was the vastly superior game.
Never forget "RIIIIIDGE RAAACERRR! Alright everyone, one minute to go! Are you ready? Their engines sound like they're ready to go. Are you all set?"
Good times. Best console. My first console. I love it. Pure nostalgia.
Especially in the arcades four people at once
Ridge Racer Type 4 and Rage Racer were much better. Great music btw. Still playing Ridge Racer Slipstream on Android
5:03
Miller pop 🥳
Rayman was such a tough game
O yeah here we go sports time lol
2:31 “That’s a BINGO!” - Hans Landa
I wish the ps5 had the PlayStation start up sound. I love that sound.
it does, silence
Ah Rayman, 6 year old me learned the true meaning of pain that day!
It tricks you by easing you in with some easy levels then bam Bandland teaches you pain
@@cod5x That f**king 🎷 Saxophone
Michel Ancel is a demon who sustains his life force through the suffering of children.
...Or in other words, a Frenchman.
Right?! Rayman was so difficult 😩. Edit: just noticed Rayman pretty much ripped off the super Nintendo game plok!
that band land place was that pain
Ridge Racer was life back then, ridge Racer everything, I decided to collect the platinum and non platinum versions along with the jogcon and negcon....those days
Itsssss RIIIDGE RACERRR

NeGcon 4 Life
@@edamjone-hash3626 my man!
I wish there was a way to use the neGcon on PS3/4. I would play modern Wipeout games way more.
Wipeout! It was balls to the wall difficult, and 9 year old me never came close to completing it, but it's making me nostalgia smile. This was one of two games I got when I got a Playstation and I can't remember the other. Even looked through game lists but nothing is making me go "ohhh yeah that was it". I didn't have a memory card either when I first got the console.
Air Combat is great. I've beat it around 5-6 times and it's still a blast every time I go through it. Some of the missions are really hard and it feels really satisfying when you get some of the last jet fighter models. Plus, the music is good and the final boss is badass. It's easily the best game in this bunch for me.
I loved Rayman as a kid. It gives me tingles when I think back to my teens, gaming. I think we all have memories of the day we got our games consoles, we can all remember playing all those console games. PlayStation, Dreamcast, Nintendo etc. I remember playing so many games and so many memories, playing with friends, actually sitting in the same room, together.
Here’s to your channel growing immensely in 2021. You deserve it!
I always found Ridge Racers drifting rather easy, side note as the game was so small it loaded entirely into system memory so you could pop in any music cd you wanted for a custom soundtrack, back in those days a basically unheard of thing on a console
360 on the last bend for the replay?
Another thing is that is the real launch title worldwide as with the possible exception of RRV, the first and 7th game are the 00001 code numbered discs of the PS family
@2:10 "Gentlemen you are the CREAM of our country's Air Force.." I've heard of "The cream of the crop" but just being the Cream?
Next time I witness someone be really good at something I'm just going to go "wow you're cream"
Cream sits on top. Cat got the cream? It's just reference to being the best. Heard quite often to be honest.
Fantastic video. My favourite was the bit with Kylie Minogue.
6:04 is what you clicked/tapped on this video for.
I can see that, although the Megadrive version is way more fun.
This video was a good dose of nostalgia. I got the PS1 at launch with MK3, ride racer and battle arena toshinden.
I laughed harder than i probably should have at opener where the instruction of kick in the game caused you to kick the table. Well done video as usual. Keep up the good work.
I was very young at that time, i remember it fondly.... the time when you had ONE game for birthday and don't expect to receive another for months, so you played it... and played it.... and became a master. Both wipeout and ridge racer, i remember being able to do all the track flawlessy. If i tried it today, i would crash in 10 seconds. And i know because i recently retried wipeout, and i crashed instantly. Ah, the good old days....
The craziest part about Street Fighter: The Movie: The Game is actually that it is one of TWO games based off that movie. There is the home console version, and the arcade version, both of which are totally different!
I never knew.
Yay! Happy New Year!
One of my favorite series by one of my favorite channels is a good start. Appreciate it, boys!
Even as an adult, I still can't 100% Rayman. That shit is so hard. That was sadistic to give children
I couldn't even beat it in my lucid dream.
I recommend Rayman: Redemption. Its a reworked Rayman 1 with infinitly better controls and level design.
@matt fahringer just download an emulater if u don't want the game on Console it works just as good if u have a good enough phone and is easy to do with loads of tutorials on how to do it i would recommend it tbh it's alot if fun to play some classics I've been playing Rayman 2 great escape dreamcast emulater and is so much fun
At least Crash Bandicoot & Spyro The Dragon came out later & made children a lot happier.
I've watched this man's videos before and I've only watched two seconds of this one, but I'm gonna give this one all the attention I've got.
Watch this man's Worst Games Ever. Much better than the scripted stuff.
"Saturn Killer" Battle Arena Toshinden is looking really rough after so many years! The later part of the ps1 lifecycle was probably the better imo. These launch lineup videos though are [chef's kiss]
Love Rayman, Ridge Racer & Wipeout, classic games
23 seconds in and you've earned a like for that kick joke xD Cracked me up so much I had to rewind it
The extended bye at the end from Ben is always a nice sign off lol
I love these launch games retrospective that you do! :D
Your very funny with your style of comedy. Fitting for your presentation. Great video!
Ben you're a proper funny bugger like, the sports bits always crease me
So nostalgic watching this video, loved parappa the rappa, ridge racer, mgs, ff7 and many other psx games back in the good old days
I played ps1 games on mobile, you can visit my channel
I loved ESPN Extreme Games. I was a kid at the time, so it was difficult to master...but I played the hell out of it. Still have my copy of it too...in the original, over sized PS1 case!
Love the intro to the sport games and flashbacks lol
Two games I still love from PS1 are the 2 Mega Man Legends games. Where you explore dungeons & develop new weapons & fight the Bons & find out he's an alien android. I played those over and over when I was a kid.
Great video, I completely forgot about Xtreme Sports on PS1 my older brother use to let me play that and it was fun at the time. Probably the reason why I got into BMX Freestyling when I got older. :) Lol
Yay this came up on my recommended and I'm pleased. Something new to binge watch
That opening gag with the table got me, very good.
The pleasure of playing WipeOut on my PS4 now 😊 I loved witnessing the evolution.
I liked the Raiden Project but I am also a fan of SHMUP games.
I had Battle Arena Toshinden
, ESPN Extreme Games, Rayman, and Total Eclipse Turbo when I had a PS1 much later.
Kudos for the Parappa The Rapper intro 👍
Wipeout was easily my favourite launch game 🙂
Cool video, very nostalgic indeed.
Man I played the heck out of all of these games. Also... 1994. I'm so old now. I was a teen when I got a PS1.
I was 14. Man loved my ps1 I have never had another type of console brand new. I stuck with Sony ever since.
Memories... I got a PS1 for Crimbo '96 as a surprise, I didn't even know what one was. I was 10 at the time and had only heard of them the night of Christmas Eve. I heard of it through my mate, whose older brother was getting a "Playstation" for Christmas. For some reason, I imagined one of those kids petrol stations with the ramp, the pump and the lift for toy cars to be a Playstation and laughed in my head at how silly that would be.
But anyway, wake up the next morning and open up this big box with my sister, and there it is. I was blown away. I got Doom, Worms, X2, True Pin ball and Pandemonium with my PS and a Demo, which I remember having Ridge Racer, F1 '96, Descent and some other stuff on it. Called my mate up to tell him all about it in excitement, comparing games we got, etc.
I remember Pandemonium blowing me away with it's 3D levels and being able to advance to the areas I could see in the background. Doom scared the ever loving shit out of me, but my Dad loved it and would often play it. Living in Manchester, it was nearly knicked from us on Boxing Night in the early hours. We had it downstairs in our dining room area, and someone was trying to unscrew the lock and handle off the back door, only for my sister to go downstairs to pee. She startled whoever was trying to break in and they buggered off. They were literally half of the last screw hanging out and they would have gotten in.
I still have my PS1 and all the games I later got, along with the PS2 and it's games stored away in a box, but the nostalgia still hits seeing some of these games and the wonderful memories spent with friends and family sharing discs and memory cards, etc.
Another great video. This is my favourite series on Triple Jump. I would have also included Demo 1 (saying that I am not sure that was bundled in Launch PlayStation's in 1995).
I was always a Nintendo kid growing up, but Toshinden is the game that sold me on the Playstation over the N64. It hasn't aged well visually, but it's still a fun and simple fighting game that doesn't require you to memorize an absurd amount of combos and special moves for each character. And that music is still awesome!
I remember I asked for a Snes from Santa as a kid and got the Playstation, I remember being upset and had no idea what a playstation even was - never even heard of it before. I can remember vividly playing Battle Arena Toshinden on it and my tiny mind was blown! That was Christmas 1995 I guess and have not looked back since! Other early titles not on this list, although probably not from release, I remember were Crusader No Remorse, Fade to Black, Broken Sword and of course Destruction Derby!! Ah the memories!
We got our PS1 in 1999 so it was already old, but still. Our first game? Croc 2. Croc. TWO. The game was so hard we quit trying. That was followed by Rayman. Another frustrating kid game. But then we got Crash Warped and Spyro!
I remember my uncle buying me a PS1 as a child (6yo~). It was my first system and I loved it. Gran Turismo was my favorite "launch" game on the console. The second game I got was GTA, man what an amazing title. My all time favorite PSX game would have to be Grandia, I found FF7 unlikeable for some reason.
oh dude the sliding in ridge racer was ace! once you got the hang of it you can slide round every corner and 360 the last bend, looks so awesome on the replay. Loved that game
With a wheel at the ardace version, drifting was the way, but with the PS1 controller I achieved the fastest lap times by not drifting at all.
Lots of us came to the PS1 from the Sega Megadrive (maybe a couple came from the Super NES as well), imo easily the biggest jump between console generations. Even the launch games looked amazing back then and they got a lot better very quickly. Wipeout the pick of the bunch for me, every one of the concerns just made mastering the weapons and the controls that much more satisfying.
kileak was one of my favorites. it was actually kinda scary at times. basement 5 has some creepy music and the enemies start getting tough. it's not until the excavation pit that things really start getting intense.
Great series you have going here and loads of nostalgia going on through these series for me. I was quite lucky being born in late 80s with older siblings I pretty much got to see \ play every console from the NES onwards so have a lot of good memories. My personal favourites are PS2 and the OG Xbox, they were a big leap from the previous gen of consoles, had tones of variety in games and really my first consoles I owed.
Some content ideas if you haven't already done this:
1. Do a summary video comparing all statistics in your series console Vs console. Which did the best, worst etc.
2. 10 best selling or rated games on each console basis on statistics.
Keep up the good work. ;)
Cool boarders and ridge racer. Absolutely elite!
Air Combat was one of my favs
Maybe favourite series on the channel. Keep up the great work lads
Loved Ridge Racer back in the day
Ahh yes I still remember getting the PS1 back in Christmas 1996, it was probably the best day of my life. The first two games I had was Formula One and Star Gladiator.
I've never seen the Street Fighter movie, but having Kylie Minogue play Cammy White sounds iconic as hell.
@matt alan I love shite movies tho!
I pressed like soon as you kicked LoL 🤣 love this channel brother 😂
I'd just gotten that pararappa the rappa song out of my head!
Me too,damn ,It's back again!!!!
Oh yes, defo been waiting for this one!
I said it on the last video but I'd LOVE to see a "Ranking every Mario Game from worst to best" It'd be awsome!!
Oh yeah! Here we go! PS1 time!
Slowly becoming my favourite channel
it would be interesting to see a top 10 video games that push a specific console to its limits
I always look at Kileak and think "hmm, this looks like a potential hidden gem!" and then i see 30 seconds of gameplay and fall asleep.
Fave ps1 games were
Loaded, destruction derby, taken and of course driver. Quality games man.
I enjoyed Warhawk. Loved its fly anywhere feeling.
I loved battle arena toshinden, very revolutionary fighting game. I remember pronouncing it Ballerina Tosendin.
Ben, you do so much for us, and I love you for that
It was some time after the PS1's release but I remember getting the console bundled with Tunnel B1. Neither myself or my older brother could figure out how to get beyond the first level. It was many many years later that I found a play-through video on CZcams and was still confused.
I notice when you're replaying these you do it from a lense of today vs what it felt like at that time playing that game. Some of these games revolutionized gaming at the time
The first PS1 games I ever played were 'Crash Bandicoot' and 'Onside'. Onside was a soccer game of some sort.
Air Combat 4 life. I've kicked asses of my classmates in dogfight mode. This game, even being completely arcade, kickstarted my love for aircraft and simulators.
I like how Klonoa is in that iconic lineup yet no one I've ever met has ever played it except me and it seems like it would be largely unknown were it not for CZcams vids like this.
Where is Klonoa 3? i demand a third game of it
Klonoa was my jam!
playing ps1 hits me big time with nostalgia! i miss playing army men world war team assault!!
Apparently Total Eclipse Turbo was originally a 3DO game that ran quite slowly due to having a bunch of slowdown and frame rate drops, but when they ported it to the PS1 it ran much faster, reaching 60fps in the tunnels sometimes and this lead to the game being nearly unplayable, but rather than just disconnect game speed to frame rate, preventing it from running too fast, they just changing the title to say turbo.
Jet moto was my first PS1 game I still play it. Awesome racing game.
I never had problems getting the car in Ridge Racer to drift in the proper direction, and also getting the car streight right out of the corner. It does help when you shoot down all the enemies during the loading game, you get the extra cars, so one of them has a better control balance making the game play more smoothly.
But indeed, compared to for instance Ridge Racer Type 4 on the same console, the car responds much more twitchy, and indeed, a new player to the game that is not yet getting used to how the came controls, you always end the drift right into a wall :-) I played this one so much, as it was a great arcade port for its time. Never expected this one to be so good at launch, as they just had 7 months to make the game.
Kid when we got this we had
Air combat
Warhawk
Twisted Metal
Wipeout
Tekken.
My dad went all out that year.
The ps1 aged like a fine wine . I recently got back into playing it and forgot just how many phenomenal games it had .
It was when Gran Turismo was released that got me to spend money I didn't have buying a Playstation.
man ps1 times were blast still can't forget series like original resident evil or alone in the dark for a single games i would give my hands down to quake 2, silent hill or hogs of war
I remember the day I got my PS1. It had just been out for only a month and I came home from school one day and my parents had it sitting there on the kitchen counter for me. I went crazy I couldn't believe it! All I had to play was Battle Arena Toshinden and the original demo disc that me and my friends played the hell out of.
This is the video I didn’t know I needed! 😁
The first game I played on PS1 was BAT.
I got NBA hoopz with the console too. Anyone remember that game?
The first Playstation game I ever played was Twisted Metal a game that holds much nostalgia for me
Back in the day when they used to sell you a complete game instead of spoon feeding you the second half as dlc.
It's the internet that allowed them to do that. It was amazing for gaming but ultimately ruined it completely today.
There was plenty of shit shovelware back then too. Take off the rose tinted glasses.
15:18 my reaction to early SNK fighting games A.I. in a nutshell
The PS1 launched when I was on kid so I didn't get one until Christmas. I believe it was the year the first Spyro was released so I missed a lot of these titles. Interestwd in trying Zero Divide though.
OH the memories😍
I am thinking about getting a PS1 Classic with the trueblu fire stix
