The whole dog storyline is actually about another show one of the writers was wanting to do. Hence the reason Rick is essentially pitching it as a good show for "11 minutes a pop" there at the end.
While this is the last episode with Snuffles/Snowball, we continue to see his picture hanging around the house throughout the series

So the episode is loosely based on Stephen King's The Lawnmower Man. You should check it out. And the reference Rick made about the Dog World is a to the creators show that is called Dog World, I think. The run time is only 11 minutes long. That's why Rick said he'd be interested for about 11 minutes. Lol
You'll begin to see this show references a lot of real life stuff.
Justin Roiland pitched a cartoon called Dogworld where the whole world is inhabited by intelligent dogs. The Adult Swim executives said no. This is Justin's way of getting back at them to prove people would actually watch a show like that 🤣🤣🤣
Love the Inception/Elm Street parts. And Rob Paulsen voiced Snowballs/Snuffles & other characters in this shows first 3 seasons. Wish he also voiced characters in South Park, Simpson, Futurama & American Dad too (Rob wanted to do voice work for Simpsons & Futurama and he was 1 of the candidates to voice Klaus i American Dad. The other 2 candidates was John DiMaggio who we know most as Bender in Futurama & Dee Bradle Baker who won & started to voice Klaus). And Mrs. Pancakes was/is gorgeous. 💙
So in the beginning when Snowball was trying to talk before he upgraded his helmet he was asking them where his balls were, that’s why he asked summer about his balls after he got upgraded

This is one of those episodes where the B Plot (in this case what’s going on with the dogs) is funnier than the A Plot (the dream inception portion of the episode). One the episodes where the B Plot is stronger than the A Plot is The Ricks Must Be Crazy.

@@DisfunktionalTV FYI, one of those shows that doesn't really focus on continuity until much later on, but the first several episodes are still highly relevant in establishing details necessary later. Definitely don't skip any of the first 5-10 episodes.
