They play it by heart, how admirable!!
Perché questo Quartetto mi riempia di gioia di vivere, è un piacevole mistero: che si perpetua!
I @ 0:20
II @ 5:50
III @ 11:30
IV @ 16:00
For those looking for a single section to get them interested, I would go for either 3:20-4:05 or 8:35-9:45.
Je to pořád krásný muzicirování ,ikdyz už nejste vice nez deset let s námi. Díky táto ,nádherný prim.
How the lack of scores in front of them frees the quartet to listen to and interact with each other.
An unforgettable performance of this marvelous and also unforgettable string quartet. Thanks !!
THEY must be unique.
They had been in existence for over 40 years by 1986, when this performance was recorded, and their last performance was in 1989. They had begun by performing from memory, but later as their repertory expanded they seem to have played from parts for works they'd taken up more recently.
The movements are:
I. Allegro
II. Allegro moderato - Andante cantabile
III. Allegro non più moderato, ma agitato e con fuoco
IV. Finale: Presto
de memoria!! 🔥👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
0:36 hes like yeah, i know im good
Truly magical
Perfetti😮
Do I detect allusions to "Gott erhalte .." in the first movement?
I am very curious. For what purpose was this music composed? Also, what music genre is this type?
this piece was written by bedrich smetana. he was a part of the nationalist movement within the romantic era of music, where he would be inspired by the folk music of his country, Czechia. I believe, according to my teacher, this piece was inspired by the composer's ongoing battle with tinnitus, which is why you hear a lot of high pitched notes throughout the piece. It is an example of absolute music; music which only exists for the sake of itself. The genre would be romantic era classical music, or string quartet. hope this is useful xx
The quartet was written by the end of his life, he was deaf and descending into insanity. To me it's like a diary in sound..
