I love the way that he continues the story through the musical silences, the build up of tension is enhanced in the quiet parts. Ren is the one artist of modern times that that this 62 year old can't get enough of.

After watching dozens of MG3 reactions so far, I gotta say, I don't think I've seen a single one of them pull the "Jimmy's at the computer working on coding, and it's a mirror of his father (and society at large) programming *him* because all kids are programmed to exist within the money game" metaphor from the video (to paraphrase). Damn, I like that as an extra layer of symbolism, well done.
Can't wait for you (Tre) to re-visit MG1 (whether it's something you record or not), can't wait for Lamar to see it for the first time (maybe you can use that as the reason to record it again for the channel... ) can't wait for you both to see MG2, and then man, MG3 will hit EXTRA for you both.

The suite is from the "moneygame" we've all been playing this past week or so, leading up to this video.
He is a musician of genius imo, writing a 21st century rap opera that's both cautionary tale and epic poem. And his voice....just uber talented. A wordsmith of the highest order, his storytelling is unique & his ability to distil the patterns and vices of human behaviour into insanely clever lyrics, full of depth, wit, wisdom and passion make him a new era philosopher - highlighting the cycles we keep repeating in every generation. I predict Ren will create a full blown, full length, film or stage 'rap opera' - for lack of a better genre description - in the next 5 years.... if we haven't blown ourselves up by then!

I've said this a few other times on other reactions, but this track feels almost as much of a sequel to Jenny, Screech and Violet's tale as it does to Money Game. It's a one take tragedy, about generational trauma. Either way it's a masterpiece.

I think it's significant to notice that he loads more than one round into the magazine of the pistol, giving me the idea that there was more intention with the .. tool... than for himself. Perhaps a metaphor for the "everything is subject to change" line.

At the end Ren says the people in his story are exaggerated versions of him, of us all because whether or not we like it we are all ruled by the money game for many reasons. We need money for things called basic but are so important just to exist, food, a home, feed our children. Even social media can be our dad when we watch others and covet what they see, we need more money for strangers approval.
