- Two other highly anticipated drivers for this WRC Rallye Monte-Carlo 2024 were Elfyn Evans and Ott Tänak, compared here. The Welsh driver aboard the Toyota GR Yaris Rally 1 Hybrid finished third in the overall standings after a promising start to the competition, which saw him in the lead until Friday. On Saturday, things changed, and his gap from the winner, Neuville, in the end, was +45"2 on a race total of 3h09'30"9. In fourth place, we find the Estonian driver Ott Tänak, the world champion in 2019, who returned to Hyundai this season after a year of driving the M-Sport team's Ford Puma Rally 1. Unfortunately, a sheet of ice caused him to slip off the road, and despite the public's help to get him back on track, his race was irreparably compromised. He, therefore, crossed the finish line with a delay of +1'59"8 on the winner and teammate Neuville. Il pilota gallese a bordo della Toyota GR Yaris Rally 1 Hybrid ha chiuso al terzo posto nella classifica generale dopo un inizio promettente della competizione che l'ha visto al comando fino a Venerdì. Il Sabato le cose sono cambiate ed il suo distacco dal vincitore Neuville alla fine è stato di +45"2 su un totale di gara di 3h09'30”9. Al quarto posto troviamo il pilota Estone Ott Tänak, campione del mondo nel 2019 e ritornato in Hyundai per questa stagione dopo un anno passato alla guida della Ford Puma Rally 1 del team M-Sport. Purtroppo una lastra di ghiaccio l'ha fatto scivolare fuori strada e nonostante l'aiuto del pubblico per rimetterlo in corsa la sua gara è stata irrimedibilmente compromessa. Taglia dunque il traguardo con un ritardo di +1'59"8 sul vincitore e compagno di squadra Neuville. Exactly, Nouville was excellent and consistent, with a remarkable comeback at the end. The world championship has just started, and these drivers will undoubtedly be the primary opponents. It's a shame that Ogier won't run all the races, as will Rovanpera. I'm happy you liked the video; I like making this type of film and working on other, even more challenging comparisons 😉👍
Tanak was clearly faster than Evans in most of the virtual shots. Great roads for this kind of racing!
The drivers and cars often go so fast that in rally stages of 15-20 kilometres, the drivers are only separated by a few seconds. This is all impressive when you think about it 👀 This year, we were lucky to choose some fantastic places to film the cars; many were speedy spots where you most appreciate the cars and drivers in action 🚀
