@@thephilosophicalforestsprite Your comment didn't seem like it was a preference thing, it seemed like you thought those things were bad. Besides toxicity, I don't get how the other stuff is bad. But a lot of Alec's songs deal with those things, the innuendos of domestic abuse in Must Have Been the Wind, violence in Boy in the Bubble, etc. It doesn't make them any less in my opinion

By innuendos, I guess I should've been more specific, cuz you're right. there are subtle messages towards violence and abuse in those songs, but I'm referring to the innuendos you find in most modern pop music, which are sexual, not towards the subjects Alec talks about. I'm not saying that music containing sexual innuendos is any less or somehow downgrading whatever you might enjoy, anyone has the right to listen to whatever they want, i just generally prefer music that doesn't contain sexual innuendos. But thank you for correcting me, 'innuendos' might be too broad a term and could easily be misunderstood.

I feel like some people's complaints about Alec's music is that it seems to hit TOO on the nail in terms of emotions. But I think that's the point; his songs aren't meant to be typically ambiguous in meaning. They're stories. HIS stories.
