Thanks for the memories. Aug88-Sep91. I saw the last plane leave the summer of 1991. It was real quite after that.

Thanks for posting this! Served at Hahn from 87 through the closing in '91 after Desert Storm, and miss that area something fierce. Beautiful area in which to have lived.

Glad to. We loved the area as well. Had this video recorded on VHS, then copied to DVD. Today converted to mp4. When will the madness end?

Thank you for sharing this video. I was stationed at Hahn 82 - 85. Definitely brought back a lot of memories. We lived in Sohren for a while before moving to base housing.

Was there from 1977 to 1981, then from 1982 to 1984. Love the place. It’s too bad Hahn is now closed , along with so many other great places in Germany.

Thank you so much for publishing this video. We were stationed there from 73 to 77 living in Buchenbeuren and as soon as I saw the opening I knew exactly the streets that you were driving down - especially 4 corners. What a delightful stroll down memory lane.

My wife and I lived in Leideneck. Loved Germany. There was a hobby shop in Sohren we went to. There was a young girl there who spoke great English. I thought she was American. She said, “no, I’m German but I learned to speak English without an accent”. I greatly respected this. I wish I could have learned more German. It was so easy speaking English there because most Germans I met wanted to use their English with me. Most Germans spoke better English than most Americans. Hope to go back soon.
