One of the ‘World’s wettest places of India’ suffers from a water shortage, Cherrapunji. The people are experiencing changes in the landscape from population growth, deforestation, and development, to climate change. Which puts pressure on this land. How can the local people survive if the situation continues like this?
Ramakrishna Mission, an NGO based in Cherrapunji started a pilot project trying to conserve rainwater throughout the year with a watershed management plan for the benefit of the community.
