I started using the iPad and Apple Pencil without a paper like screen protector. Then I kinda got bored of it because it took me more effort so I bought the paper like protector. But it got scratched way too fast for the price and I have seen a lot of comments saying that it ruined the Apple Pencil tip way too fast. When I got my second iPad, I opted for a matte screen protector found on amazon which was not the PaperLike brand. It was way cheaper. I also bought metallic tip for my Apple Pencil. Never been happier with my iPad :) (Brand : Paperfeel)
I'm planning to buy paper like screen protector for illustration because need paper like feeling but need also the actual high resolution so I want to know without screen protector can I feel the same experience??
With a matte screen protector you will inevitably loose the quality of the screen. And you will use your regular Apple Pencil tip way faster. You have to decide what is more important to you 🤷🏼♀️
I’ve learned to write on the iPad without PaperLike screen protector, and now I don’t feel like giving up the nice feeling that I get by writing over the slippery screen, I just like it, even if I used to hate it when I started. Keep trying, guys, maybe this could be your case in the future!
I most definitely agree. You really have to put in the time to get used to it. It’s not really about the screen being too slippery, you just need to improve your pencil control
As a leftie i love writing on my ipad. With paper i have to "push" the pencil, so when writing on paper now my wrist hurts way faster. On the ipad, its great because there is way less friction. Ive been using it for....3.5 years or so now (Med school), and i would keep it that way. (My writing isnt great, but at least as well on my ipad as paper)
I use Bellemond for my Ipad and it works great! There are no screen scratch marks or glare issues with this screen protector because it is not polished. I used my Ipad to read papers, books, and articles, all day every day and this screen protector has motivated me to become an avid note taker.
Even with the 2nd gen I found the screen quality degradation too hard to overcome after using the iPad without one for a few months. So I got used to writing on the glass screen without one and now prefer that.
This is not the latest Apple iPad, but it is faster than I thought. It has a great screen and it holds a charge pretty well czcams.com/users/postUgkxhcEDB3r-OJ3_X5hQzr7k1ZofTQy1ao_U . I was concerned that it would not be powerful enough because I have several older iPads that are slow and cannot update to the latest software. But this 10th Gen has the speed and power. I do not use it for video editing, so having an M2 processor is not necessary for me. This iPad model has an A14 processor. So far so good. Glad I bought it. It helps having a larger screen compared to my Apple phone.
Ive had the same issues with writing on the i pad with the apple pencil, It always tended to be too slippery for me to use and I ended up switching back to pen and paper. However, during this time i remember using my brother samsung galaxy note with s-pen and it felt very nice to write on with a rubber tip it was small but easy to control and never felt like it was slipping. Be cool to see if there are any soft tip options for the apple pencil to achieve that same feel
Pro tip, apple pencil tip cover, at least in my opinion could enhance ur experience of writing on the ipad,, it's made of silicon so i guess that's what makes it have a bit more friction, it protects ur pencil nib as well ur screen protector, which u can get for much cheaper normal ones, the tip covers are extremely cheap as well
I got my iPad Air 4 in 2020 and a matte screen protector from TECHgear. I still use this exact screen protector to this day (daily use for university stuff) and it looks like new, still has a paper feel to it, doesn’t wear down the Apple Pencil tip and has nearly no scratches. It was like 3 USD for 2 protectors. My friend got her iPad a few weeks ago and sat down next to me in class. She had the original paperlike on her iPad and it was completely scratched (after just a few weeks!), the screen looked horrible and for me writing on it wasn’t the best experience… (but that’s a totally personal opinion) I would save the money and go with a cheaper option - as said, TECHgear works great for me, so highly recommended as an alternative 😊
Hi Samuel, Did you use the “old” Paperlike or the new “nano dots” version. I had the old version and with the same remarks you mentioned I took it off my iPad. From time to time I am thinking of getting one again due to the sound the writing on screen makes while recording audio and taking notes in GoodNotes 5.
There are paper-like screen protectors that are magnetic! You can take it off and put it on as you wish, i would just consider how strong the magnet could be
Ive found no issue with drawing on the ipad pro screen or a smooth screen protector. I actually prefer drawing with the apple pencil’s silicon nib over products I used to use like Wacom Cintiq and their attempts to simulate paper texture (which just wore down my pen nibs). The only apple this protector would have for me is the antiglare and antiscratch properties but not for the price.
what about using clear film screen protector? you get the texture of glass, but it also protects the screen against scratches and maintains the precision of having nothing on your screen. tempered glass, i find, makes the apple pencil unable to draw perfectly straight lines-there always a wobble to it
Samuel I buy this product but I am failed to installed it over my iPad 2 times and it worst of money,1St time it is very hard to write but later glass is better and when I prepare the notes in the started the semester but at the exam time it is very hazy to read.I prefer to go normal Temper glass 😊
I just installed my second screen after a few years of having it with little to moderate use. There's a magnetic option from a company called Pen Tips that is also an option (debatable if you even need a screen if you buy their pen tips) and AstroPad makes a magnetic screen with a Ballpoint Pen tip to go with it (supposedly they work well in tandem) but the ballpoint pen tip is meant to reduce screen wear I guess
Samuel suresh how did you find the time to do all of your notes because I have not bought the iPad yet but I am planing to. I was warned by a friend that it would be a waste of time or She did not think I would have the time for it
I bought a knock off matte paper-like screen protector for $15 on Amazon. I don't notice that big of a difference between it and none as far as writing. It really does muddy the colors though. I don't know if I'm going to keep it on or not.
I went ahead and purchased it from their site. Just got an Airpad. The check out process asked for the reference and I put your channel link in the field. Thanks and great video!
Hello. When i already have a screen protector on the iPad Air , do i need to remove the screen protector before put the paper like( it’s mean that the paper like can protect the iPad from shock) or do i going to install the paper like on the existing screen protector ?
To each his own - I didn't like the paperlike- not enough feedback for me. I switched to ESR Paper Feel ( NOT the tempered glass version), and I love it. Much cheaper also. I have no financial or personal relationship with ESR.
Hey i would like to ask i am using procreate app , and can we use bare screen i mean without protector does apple pencil hurts the screen or screen damage pencil nibs? Secondly i am using wiwu paperlike screen protector and few months back i usedthe orignal papelike i feel wiwu is much better with less friction and resistance. I feel paperlike is quite harsh when and more resistant than (wiwu paperlike) and there seems to marks of pencil and that typical hard paper sound 😂 i hope you got me
Hey bro... i need help I want to livestream using my ipad but the problem i'm facing right now is that i want to crop the ipad screen in 16:9 i have tried every possible way but still i didn't reach the destination. Please help ❤
I am afraid that my screen will get hurt without protector , i used to put so many stuff in my bag and thinks that by collision my screen damaged or get scratched , and i am a careless person who threw things harshly but unintentionally .things fell off easily
I’ve been using mine for 2 weeks and it’s already wearing off. There are parts were there’s almost no friction. Don’t give it more than a month installed.
The price is too high and it takes away the beauty of the mini led display from the iPad 12.9. because it has a kind of mat/ milky look which I don’t like. I also don’t like the touch feeling . This is not for me and I will go back to a Spigen ultra clear which I had on my smaller iPad and was very happy with. I honestly regret this expensive purchase.
I found the screen was still too slippery and not paper like at all. I was so disappointed I took it off straight after applying as I couldn’t tell any difference. Sadly I feel this has way more marketing and a con. I suspect Paperlike pay CZcamsr channels to give a positive reviews of their product sadly. I can’t recommend paper like at all.
@@iam.lalala Sunlight or really any light would make it hard to see the screen and then even though it does feel great and satisfying, it wasn’t worth all that money. I took it off because it didn’t protect the screen too.
I absolutely hate it. It feels like chalk and nothing like a smooth ballpoint pen. But I need a screen protector so I have no choice really. But it’s absolutely rubbish

Quick question. Which Paperlike did you use in this video? Because I heard Paperlike 2.1 has improved some of those cons you mentioned.

I use magnetic paper like version for about 10$. Attach only when needed and enjoy colorful screen when not writing
This sounds intriguing. What is the brand?

I’ve noticed in the video he was saying it took him 3-4 months just to transition from pen and paper to bare iPad screen.
Great thing took time ❤️
Very helpful. I'll get a grip, and test working on my iPad without Paperlike, a chance. If that's hideous, then I'll go for Paperlike. 👍🏼

Honestly the only thing on it thats worth it is the fact that the knockoffs are 15$ on Amazon, so the wear down isn't as severe on the budget.

Apple made their pencil nibs specifically so they wouldn’t hurt the iPad 😊

Now you can have the best of both worlds. ESR, or Rock Paper Pencil, now make a magnetic screen protector that you can download to consume content.
