Always surprises me how much Linus knows even compared to his employees. Like he immediately checks the lower viewing angles to determine the TN panels in seconds, checks the two tone gloves for color reproduction, knows that CSGO doesn’t have dark shadows so he compares the blackness of the mini-map, moves the chair away from the desk for motion blur... Meanwhile all the other guys flounder around and take far longer to decide on anything.

He also has at the most a couple of decades of experience on them. My guess is most of his employees are young and fresh outta college or in college. Believe it or not Linus is mych older than we think him to be lol.

Difference is the BenQ is made for people who needs reliability and optimal performance.
Maybe they just kept release pricing? It's like 2,5 years old at this point and with how high refresh rate is kinda mainstream, it would be cheaper, if released now.

the thing with BenQ is they are not coming with new monitors they are selling zowie and its still better than all ....I saw now there is product which is available on Amazon launch recently with 27'' inch 240 hz XL2746s. But no price tag yet.
Thank you for your reviews guys much appreciated , I'm going to be looking for one and was looking at benq , now I'm leaning to the 3rd one the LG, I love the color to it vs the other ones and as a photographer I have to have colors spot on , shooting video has to be spot on .

Higher refresh rate monitors are actually really beneficial for pvp so it makes sense
I play on a minecraft server that puts a big load on your pc, I run it on like 20-30 fps and it feels as smooth as 60 fps

I personally think you guys should've added the AW2518H/HF for this comparison. Those are the ones used in Katowice and ESL for CS:GO and, personally, once calibrated it's got great colors for a TN panel, with blazing fast input lag and good motion blur handling. Definitely too expensive though.

Got the LG and it's great but I did notice the motion blur thing in CS:GO, not really too off putting though and I feel great playing on it so overall very happy, especially considering how good the value of it is.
James is so good in study/research areas, like the last mechanical keyboard one, i enjoyed this type of videos.

I'd love to see a general but well-done review/test of the different panel technologies - Mainly TN, IPS and VA but I'd love to see what's happening to the sub-genres (E.G. cPVA, S-PVA, MVA, AH-IPS, SVA, PLS, AHVA - Which ones are dead and gone, which ones are in development hell, how many of them are pretty much just a proprietary version of which ones are still promising, are there any new ones and how are they turning out etc.?) and not to forget: other panel-types, like OLED (how far from being viable for PC monitors are they anything interesting happening) etc.
I was looking for a new monitor awhile ago and the info about panels was about the same as when I bought my old monitor - Meaning that it was rather hard to find some general and up-to-date info about the panel types - As in they were either written around 2010-2012 or they might as well have been with the kind of vague info they were giving I.E. things like: TN panels have worse viewing angle and colour reproduction but are faster than IPS - But nothing that'd compare them or suggest that anything's happened during the last decade.
So I'd like to "officially" request a comparison video/s!
Not only between the different panels but between the current panel-technologies compared to five(5) and ten(10) years ago and over different price points, E.G. 150, 300, 500 and 1 200 (maybe even 2 000, for the professionals/rich people) USD, or whatever price-points make more sense (keeping the relative value of the dollar between these dates in mind might be a good idea)!
Some of the things I'd love to see is one panels types weak points vs the other types E.G. Viewing angles and colour reproduction of a modern TN etc.
In short, I'm looking for something that could help people decide when (and if) it's time to get a new monitor, E.G. how does the $500 (and $300) TN-panel(s) from 2020 compare (in every way) to the range of $150-2 000 IPS-/VA-panels from 2010 and 2015? And vice versa with the VA- and IPS-panels.

I'd love to see a review of the Spectrum 1440p 240hz ips monitor when it comes out later this year. I'm ordering the 4k 144hz ips model myself.

why is it that the colors that people say look "truer to life" just look really exceedingly green to me ? I noticed this back with the blindd laptop test as well.
I would guess that it's due to the screen having a "Warmer" color template and most likely being comfortable to view. Usually the more blue that comes through tends to err on being harsher to view.

I bought one of the first Acer Nitro IPS 144HZ panels about a year ago, and I've been genuinely impressed. Motion blur is noticeable, but it still feels responsive and fast, and whether I'm playing Overwatch, CSGO, or Destiny 2 (main game) I can get a BEAUTIFUL picture. Colors are accurate, response is fast enough for competitive play, and movies and videos look amazing. Now I'm just debating getting a Zowie next to it for the really sweat days.

@ Linus Tech Tips Hey, first I am wondering what settings were tested on the Zowie that's super important if DyAc was ON or OFF? And if any sync or motion blur technologies were on the others. Also I am curious how the newer ASUS TUF GAMING VG259QM 25'' (or 27") 1080p 240Hz (280Hz overclocked) compares to these? Someone told me that the motion blur was still noticeable, but better than any other 240 IPS

I understand you wanted the "out of box" experience, but it would have been nice to see what everyone thought of the colors after they were calibrated with a Spyder.
I'd be very surprised if even 0.1% of customers have a color calibration device, so it's much more representative to have them in their out of the box setup. But maybe it'd been a nice addition as a bonus segment.
@@Mythricia1988 My issue is just that that 27" LG monitor was on such a cooler color profile, that it may have severely influenced their judgement. At least if they calibrated them, they would have one more non-human influenced perspective to draw from.
People are too stupid to calibrate, just leave it on auto!
Don't forget to add that calibrating device aren't cheap for something use once per monitor.
What they didn’t mentioned is that the LG monitor comes pre calibrated right out of the box! I bought that monitor three weeks ago and I love it! (Coming from a BenQ Zowie with TN panel)

I really love the LG IPS panel colours compared to others and it's good for most types of games, videos,editing, it's good even for competitive games,unless u are like a streamer and wanna go for the top500 grandmaster ranks, then i guess a faster response time one is better.

I'm shocked there's no Viewsonic XG270 in the 240hz IPS isn't on here. Also at least from personal experience with an Acer Nitro laptop and it's IPS panel, Acer Nitro monitors have really poor use of red and blue colors, leaving them VERY VERY muted. And the Viewsonic does belong here as now all the e-sports and speedrunning events have Viewsonics on display now as the preferred choice so I was really hoping to see that on here. How could you guys miss such a crucially important monitor?
