I have been dealing with this issue for years! I keep my natural hair cut real low like yours and I hated having the fake wiggy look whenever I wore a short wig. Well, not anymore, thanks to this great tutorial!

Yes the back is always unnatural. A helpful hint is to turn it inside out on the form so you can see the wefts better and where to cut it! 👍

Looks good ...you can always sew a couple of wig clips into the wig at the back for security if you are cutting further up and using your own hair at the back kind of like a topper would be 😍

I lost my hair after having my children at age 27. I can't even begin go tell you how I felt about losing my hair. I like the fact that you did this in real time, without speeding up the video.. Also that u cut one section at a time, so we could see what the unit looked like at each length, its helps when deciding how much or less to cut for our desired look. Thanks for the video, nicely done.

I absolutely loved this..I tried using scissors when I was pretending to be a wigologist 🤣 but I messed it up so I used tweezers to remove the comb and it turn out great

Told my mom about this and sent her the link to the vid...you inspired her. She cut the back of her wig and had my dad shave the back of it...she said it looks better.

When I remove that bulk part out of the wigs that I do, I also remove the adjustable straps from the wig. Then I add two small to pay clips at each corner of the bottom around the neckline. I also like to have the ability to use tape at the front of the wig. Waterproof lace tape a quarter inch wide. You might need to sew a very thin small piece of plastic sometimes called a tape shield. Into the front of the wig. If you can't find a tape shield go to Walmart find some of their thinner plastic tablecloths. Anything flexible plastic will work. Very secure.
This is the most BEAUTIFUL short wig tutorial I've ever seen on YT. You did an excellent job on this unit. I'm trying to get my mother into wearing wigs and this is exactly what I'm going to do for her. Same unit and all. PERFECT!!

I was so frustrated and feeling self conscious the other night so I went to CZcams to see if anyone had any ideas for the back and there u were! I cut the bottom row off the next morning and I am so happy! I even got a compliment at work. I like the fade look as well but I don't trust myself with clippers! thanks again!

This is so creative...i just want to say how pretty you are .....! I have extreme hair loss and have worn a hairpiece for years. I am now getting so sparce on my sides and nape that i need to go into a full wig. All i have tried on drive me nuts in the nape.....i cannot wait to try your techniques! I am so glad i found you on you tube...it feels very alone to be a female with permanent baldness. I find it impossible to tell people as it is so embarassing to me. I never thought to actually cut off the additional tracks... I always simply folded the "nape" of the wig over, and pinned it down once I placed the wig on. I also clipper cut or razor combed to blend the back. Love your method!

I have always used this technique with my short hair weaves so its not surprising to do this also with a short wig! Im just now growing out my back (about the first 4 inches were shaved). For now, I like the fuller coverage I get from my short hair wigs! The more neck the better to cover my 'widows peak' neck hairline! LOL! This is cute on you! Makes me want to start shaving again!

Love this you did a fantastic job. Don't know why, but you remind me of a younger version of another CZcamsr, JoAnne Gray. She hasn't done videos in quite some time, but she used to spend a LOT of time on her short wigs, and I used to LOVE watching her style wigs to see what the end result would be. You did a great job here, and since I have a tapered afro, my hair in the back is already faded just like this. Never thought to leave it out and let it blend with the rest of the wig. Also another tip to anyone nervous about the wig's fit: if you cut off the adjustable straps, you can replace and sew a comb into the new nape of the wig you created when you cut it off. That way you still have some added security.

With the wig, you look ok/attractive; wearing your natural hair cut to your scalp to emphasize the framing of your face and facial features, you are stunnnningly beautiful. See, the Creator' probably said, "I already got this" when you put on the short wig which really hid the features He gave you that made so many of us comment, 'wow' when you took off the wig. His workmanship of you can not be beat!
