23 years ago, my dad was sentenced to 40 years in prison. I was 7 years old and I remember when me, mom and my little sister went to visit him in prison and this was the first time i heard this song. It’s such a coincidence that the music video had this scenario. Ever since then, this has been my favourite song, not because of my dad going to prison, because this song proved to me that even I still haven’t seen my dad in 23 years, this song tells me that even though he’s a bad man, I’m still gonna love him when he comes out and ik it’s weird cause this is a love song and i’m talking abt a relationship with my dad, but the message is that even thought people make mistakes, we’re still gonna love them in the end. Damm i was yapping.

Alicia, when this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and in jail. Now I have a good job, a husband, and I’m healthy. This song and “Clover Cage - Miraculous” are the two songs that helped with my depression. I just want everyone to know that things will get better. We are in this together. I love you ❤😊
