Johan is seriously the most articulate heavy metal singer, he sings with a pretty deep voice but it is very easy to hear what he is singing!
Also if im not misstaken the crowd litearlly invented viking rowing because of amon, instead of doing a mosh pit, they sit down and row! :D

My favorite thing is watching people hear amon amarth for the first time. Now that your Viking cherry has been popped check out the way of vikings, shield wall, twilight of the thunder gods. And beyond. 34 years of bangers.

Someone said amon amarth is gym music. And i get it, we all want to be this awesome. The goosebumps this band gives me makes me think somewhere along the way it makes sense, it just takes the direction.

I have experienced them live and this song, this is really amazing, they got most of the audience down on the floor to ROW, it was so cool. They are amazing live.
    Thank you for this reaction.
    Best wishes from Denmark

Amon Amarth's music is pure testosterone for the ears. Every time I listen to them I wanna either work out, chug beers, or fight random people lol I love it!

If you want to go back to when this started coming up, check out Bathory. One of my fav album is Hammerheart. They were pioneers of both black metal and Viking metal. Its the Viking Metal period I liked a lot more. Even one Road to Asa Bay is amazing. I been listing to Amon for awhile, my love of non-traditional American music. lol

Amon Amarth have a great discography to dive into and personally I do prefer their older stuff but I would always suggest for one to start with the album Twilight of the Thunder God. Some song suggestions from that album would be Twilight of the Thunder God, Guardians of Asgaard and Tattered Banners and Bloody Flags. If you enjoy some of those songs you could always follow that up with War of the Gods which is the first song on the following album.

Reminding you of Arch Enemy? Both bands are Sweedish Melodic Deathmetal ;)

Swedish melodic death metal, or The Gothenburg sound started with In Flames, At the Gates and Dark Tranquillity. Followed by Arch Enemy and Amon Amarth. Heavier but the same basics
