    Great card draw addition would be Underworld Connections. (Enchant land, enchant land has tap to draw a card.) With Jorn out it can draw you two cards per turn since lands get untapped.

    I'm a big fan of Whispersilk Cloak, Asceticism, and Sword of Feast and Famine in Jorn (though obviously the Sword is not so budget friendly). Whispersilk lets him attack freely to get the trigger and gives him shroud for protection as well. Jorn untaps our lands to let have mana to hold up for Asceticism, and it gives us more protection with Hexproof, and the Sword is more or less a second copy of our commander.

  • @Yesnomu

      to me those equipment's are essential. I run whipersilk cloak, prowlers helm, trailblazer boots, etc. it really helps the commander. and then when you get one of your big boys out you can swap them over if need be.

  • @darthdespot5120
    @darthdespot5120 Před 2 lety

    Ive been having a ice blast with my Jorn deck. I have many equipments that allow my jorn and other big boys to become unblockable: whispersilk cloak, prowlers helm, trailblazer boots, etc. This way jorn can always attack. then i have several outlets to give me card draw and unlimited hand size. plus several ways to bank mana over turns. deck works great. sunstone is a good addition as well that has saved me several times.

  • @Stino7777777
    @Stino7777777 Před rokem +1

    Thank you Joey and EDHrecast for another great video. I build a snow deck after Kaldheim was released and enjoying it a lot ever since. It consistently wins commander games (not competitive), mainly because you have double mana since turn 4 and all snow stuff interacts perfectly with each other. The three colors provide with alot of answers. Jorn is cheap to cast so no big deal if destroyed early. My deck is mainly the same as Joey's, but I want to share some ice-cold tips for my fellow snow players:
    Add:
    Mouth of Ronom (a snow-land that destroys creatures!)
    Glacial Revelation (a 3 mana sorcery that generally lets you draw 3-4 cards!)
    Avalanche Caller (this wins matches late game. I see Joey's point at 4:30, but did he notice it grants Hexproof to your lands?)
    Vedalken Orrery (its price dropped to about € 4 after DM22. Staple for Jorn, Synergy +100)
    Buried Alive + Wonder and Brawn (and Narfi). Giving all your creatures flying + trample for 3 mana is great, also since the deck doesn't run so many creatures. It also synergizes with the Rimestaff.
    I found myself a slight shortage of snow cards, mostly creatures. As Joey mentioned, some non-snow cards are just plain better. Since you'll get a lot of mana early, consider these mostly non-budget cards: Asceticm, The Great Henge, Curse of the Swine, Ulamog the Infinite Gyre, Hydroid Krasis, Murkfiend Liege, Koma Cosmos Serpent, Apex Devastator and Solve the Equation (to fetch Dead of Winter i.e.).
    Lastly, if you want to show your friends your heart is not as cold as ice, add some playable flavor cards: Frozen Aether, Panglacial Wurm, and Glittering Frost. The latter helps converting your Commander Tower, Opulent Palace, Zagoth Triome and Scry-dual-lands into snow sources as well. And have you thought of buying a few Snow lands with a different language, how about a Verschneiter Wald from Coldsnap? I found that hilarious.
    Winter is coming.

    • @LibertyMonk
      @LibertyMonk Před 3 lety

      Being targeted isn't the terrifying thing about animating your lands, though hexproof does help a bit more than Sylvan Awakening's indestructible. Aetherize, Evacuation, Dire Hour, Consume the Meek, and Rout are all instant speed board wipes which would ruin your day if you animated too many lands. Settle the Wreckage and others exist too, but mostly don't have much effect on lands. That said, it's actually *difficult* to animate more than a third of your lands at best, considering it costs 2 to animate each one, which isn't exactly what I'd call an upside.

    Just finished a few games with the new list - this mana base could use some work yet. With cards in all three colors requiring double colored mana, subbing out fetch lands for colorless lands might be a little much - I would rather see things like Zagoth Triome going in, especially since Jorn can untap it mid-combat.

  • @raresux
    @raresux Před 2 lety

    unfortunately as of today, fierce guardianship has only gone up since the making of this video, and i highly doubt they'll reprint it anytime soon, if ever. that, deflecting swat, and deadly rollick all are essentially auto includes in their respective colors, but the price makes them so hard to actually put in. i myself only have one copy of them each from buying the precons, and i got them around when guardianship was $30-40, but currently it's sitting around $60-65, and it's stuck in my veyran storm deck alongside said deflecting swat for the time being. which, that makes it tough to decide what removals to put in new decks i make in those colors, because i'm always tempted to take them out of the decks they're already in for the new ones. wizards knows they kinda fucked up printing the cycle by trying to make super powerful cards more accessible, but all it did was just end up driving the value of the precons up, and because of that is why i think they likely won't get reprinted, adding to the value of them even MORE. it kinda snowballed into "either we reprint it and everyone who bought it at a high price is gonna be mad, or we don't and the price just goes up more, making more people mad". it's a lose-lose for them, and if they never got printed, it never would've happened. unfortunate, but it happened and we just gotta accept it. those who have the budget to buy multiples obviously aren't that affected by it, but a good majority of people don't have that kind of spending money to throw around on some cardboard. :(

    Is this a budget channel? I'm not sure it's that relevant to talk about budget when so many people play proxies. Play the player, not their wallet. It just looks like a watered down sultai deck-the most expensive colors. This poses a problem because the mana curve is higher and individual card quality is lower. I think there's enough info on card substitution out there. Anyway, I guess if the premise here is creativity above competitiveness, then I can understand.
