    Freaking awesome tutorial. Personally I wouldn't tighten the trucks so much unless you just want to skate in a straight line really fast. I have more fun with loose trucks. It will sway if standing and not moving and at first that will be a bit like a bike but after a while you can stop at lights and stay on if you want to. Wish the Duo came with double kingpins, feel this should be mandatory for all eboards lol, or especially the long boards with no kicktail.

      Thanks for checking it out. You're right when saying not to have your trucks so tight. The wheel base is so short, so any leaning resulted in a large turn and going at the high speeds that this board can do was a little unnerving and took me some time to get used to. I eventually loosened them off as I got more confident on this deck.
      Yeah, it would be awesome to see a double kingpin option on the Duo. I'll let Jared know and he might consider providing that as an option.

    This is a great tutorial. I hope I get to see Duo Type R tutorial from you soon.

    Did you ever determine why you were only getting 13 miles of range vs. the advertised 18-20? Also, curious if you've tried to weatherproof it? This is the best looking/functional short eboard I've been able to find vs. traditional skating. I'm coming at the esk8 scene from street skating in the 90s-early 2000's (old guy needs an easy cruise kinda thing), so the lean aspect of the Tayto is attractive. Weatherproofing and battery swapability would make it so much better.

    Nice, I bought a torqueboards diy kit to do my first build. M Boards kit looks quite good as well.

      @@eSkateHub the pro 3, I hummed and ah over all 3 kits and eventually decided I wanted that, I have an Evolve GTR so I wanted to get similar range but a bit more power, going to be putting it onto a Bustin deck. super excited when parts start arriving

      @@anthonyb924 i think they have discontinued it, i had a heap of issues with getting the parts, I had the deck & trucks arrive in 1 shipment, battery arrive in another, had to contact them to get the ESC's & enclosure as they weren't delivered. ended up taking nearly 6 months to get all the parts with multiple back and forth emails, in that time I built a Bustin Sportster using Eboosted enclosure & battery with a focbox and only used the TB motors & mounts, sold the deck & enclosure. I won't be using torqueboards for parts again with how mediocre experience i had with them, but id highly recommend Eboosted, Alan was great and kept regular contact with progress of my battery and enclosure and took about 3 weeks to my door here in AUS.

    May I ask why you chose to put the motors facing inwards rather than outwards under the tail ? . Thanks , great video by the way :)

    • @eSkateHub
      @eSkateHub  Před 4 lety +1

      Hey thanks for watching. This is the way these motor mounts and trucks were designed to be installed. You wouldn't be able to install the motors out the back without flipping the entire trucks which isn't recommended. Plus, on a shortboard, having the motors out the back kind of defeats the purpose of having a kicktail.

      Bkb duo offer pre builts and it's tempting but if/ when I get think I'll go for trying myself. The appeal of a pre-built is if any of the parts are broken they can just switch them out. If you get a bad part then waiting sucks. Read a few people on Reddit having these issues.

    Hi. Can the kit be used on a drop through deck with motors behind? Thanks.

    • @eSkateHub
      @eSkateHub  Před 4 lety

      Hey, I wouldn't recommend using this kit if you wanted to have the motors run behind. The trucks and motor mounts are designed to work together in a particular direction. To have the motors out the back you'd have to install the trucks backwards with the kingpin facing toward the inside of the deck which is not a good idea. That's from my understanding anyway.

    • @TheBoardGarage
      @TheBoardGarage Před 4 lety +1

      eSkate Hub Not necessarily, you could swap the mounts to the opposite side, giving the right orientation for outrunner positioning.

    • @contorta960
      @contorta960 Před 3 lety

      Maybe buy evolve double kingpins and if the rest is compatible that would be sick! I think you would have to switch out either the trucks or the the deck to put them behind. Or add a lot of risers lol
