- Skidplates are not the most sexy upgrade for your 4x4, but they sure are useful, especially if you don't lift your 4x4 a lot and like to find challenging off road obstacles. The Bronco Truck is basically stock in suspension, so upgrading skids is a good idea before it hits more trails. On this episode we'll swap out the factory skids for ARB's more substantial Under Vehicle Protection (skid plate system) and show you just how easy it is to protect your underbelly.

Another way to "fix" the issue with the oil drain plug would be to add a 90 degree fitting and some flex line with a valve, with a safety plug in it, to the oil drain. Not sure what the oil filter problems might be as we did not get a good look. Also might try to fab up a hinge so you could swing the one plate down for maintenance.
Thanks for pointing out the maintenance issues as that is seldom discussed.
Not a Ford/Bronco guy, but I loved this build and I always wondered what happened to this build. Glad to see it didn't go to some forgotten motortrend lot to be pillaged.
My Landcruiser 300 has ARB bull bar, Old Man Emu suspension, skid plates etc . They make high quality products and have used them on all my 4x4’s since 1983. 🇦🇺🍺
Fred, there is a term for organizing hardware or parts in this fashion and it's called knolling. It's well known in the Lego and model making world. Like you said, it is worth doing and can save time in the long run. Bronco looks sick btw

That's a pretty good kit. Well engineered and built. Looks like it was engineered by guys who actually do the work. With the slotted holes and things like that
Jeep JL also uses cable shift, IIRC.

Seems like a nice plate kit. Real shame they didn’t design a way to get the oil out.
I would upgrade the front steering because it is one of most common failure off roading

Get a couple sheets of steel and you can make the whole entire rig flat-bellied build a large skid plate for the entire bellie of the truck

Ford should make that truck. I made skid plates out of road signs for my 3rd-generation 4-runner, ARP are better but they cost more than my truck. 😃

ARP does make nice fasteners, though.
The ratcheting drill is very loud. will you please put a compressor on your audio so it's not so loud compared to your voice?

No way I’m taking that apart every oil change. Engineers strike again. Deal breaker for sure.
Although I wish mine had a spot to drain through, I find the one on my Ranger not too bad to remove. Only 2 more bolts than the stock one, which is in the way on an oil change too. The filter placement on the 2.3 is far more deserving of complaint.
Most vehicles have under trays today, so it's really not any worse than a sedan.
ARB always really broken . Too many things to go wrong .
