The blues are a nice change from your usual foliage colors. Extremely excited to get the print of this 😊
I love that you included the little fish friends.. as someone who adores nature, you're the perfect artist to follow!
I just love to see your art
Wow! I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone draw whale sharks before! Your amazing at art. When you said that it wasn’t turning out I was like “WHAT” good job!
The timing of this video is great. I was just about to paint a lil shark.
The last whale shark I drew was using black and white ink in a mid tone grey paper. This process would really have benefited from minimal but targeted layer use. Bottom layer 1= far background and light rays 2 (just above the bottom) the background rocks , 3 = whale shark, 4= yellow fish.
It would have saved you a lot of trouble! You ended up painting over the rest and putting the fish on their own adjustable layer later (at great effort) anyways!
It would have been much better if the yellow fish were their own top layer right from the start.
I advise separating out into logical (but still minimal) layers from the start as too many layers can be a problem too and get in the way of a more painterly style. BUT a few layers 2-7 works way better I find!
I agree that adjusting the yellow fishes flow and pose to follow the wake of the shark was way better! But I don’t think they need more highlights because the whale shark is the focus, not the yellow fish! I think it’s great the way it is!
Fun stuff, thanks for sharing!
This is amazing, they are beyond adorable ☺☺☺

I love whale sharks!! I went up to Ningaloo for the eclipse last year (and then swimming with whale sharks ahhhh) so I made a whale shark t-shirt. They're such fun creatures fun to draw. You really captured their big kazoo bodies and also your water looks amazing
