She’s not wrong though, iced americano is not a popular drink in the US and it’s typically prepared differently than it is in Korea. In Korea, every cafe sells it as their staple drink, but it’s not common in places outside of Starbucks in the US. And despite there being a bunch of Starbucks in every major city in the US, it could be inconvenient in terms of her scheduling. She might wanna drink it first thing in the morning and the nearest Starbucks could be 2 miles+ from their hotel.

Any coffee shop anywhere in the world would be able to make an iced Americano really fast. Taking your own coffee to America is almost as ridiculous as taking your own potatoes because you’re not sure you’ll find anywhere that serves fries.

One of my prior work places in NYC had 4 Starbucks within a 5 minute walk. You could stand at one Starbucks and look down the street to see another.
