Hello, all! After all the ink blending in Friday's video, I really wanted to use one of the color combos! So I decided to create a card that has center blending (I call it "spotlight blending" in the video, but really "center blending" makes more sense).
Use the hashtag #KristinasOxideCombos on Instagram! I'd love to see what you create with these color combinations. :)

I really like when you do these very simple cards. Sometimes the more complicated techniques (while incredibly beautiful) can feel bit intimidating for beginners. I think it's great that you do a variety. That way there are videos that beginners can watch and start building their confidence and there are videos for the more advanced crafters. You do an awesome job.

Kristin, you spoke about this card being too simple to post on CZcams. Please don’t keep the simple ones off of CZcams... cuz no matter how simple the card, I’ve usually been able to pick up some different techniques and tricks. Thanks for posting this video.

Well girl, this tutorial was absolutely spot on! Whomever suggested showing the ink blending in real time was so right! You are such a wonderful teacher, Kristina, and I found this tutorial to be incredibly helpful. The tips you gave about holding the ink blending tool with a light grip was a game changer for me (ask me how I know LOL), as well as the tip for applying glue to vellum, and I can't thank you enough! I am so looking forward to seeing the difference between ink blending with our regular Distress Inks vs Oxides. It's such a wonderful feeling when we can 'see' ourselves improving when we create...that means so much to me! Until next time sweetie....

Kristina, I'm so glad you decided to go ahead & post this on CZcams! I have a slight pet peeve of sorts about people who only post on Instagram. I did have an Instagram account at one time, but got hacked. The only way I found out was when I logged on and had a few thousand people "I" was following--none of whom I had ever heard of! No notice from Instagram that my account may have been compromised, either. And since Instagram (at least then) didn't allow you to mass-unfollow people, I got tired of doing it one by one and finally just deleted my account, after saving my images on my computer. And I have not signed up again. So, when anyone posts only there, I miss out. :( Anyway, I do love how this card came out! Those Oxide colors set off the gold embossing so well. Thanks for the tip on the glue for vellum, too! I kind of think it might cockle larger pieces of vellum, but obviously for tiny pieces/strips, it works perfectly. I've done the same sort of thing with my Xyron machines to apply dry adhesive to vellum, but never thought to do it with liquid glue. Anyway, thanks for sharing. Take care, & have an awesome day! :)

Lovely & minimalist. Another trick that works well with vellum: use the Xyron sticker maker. The key I expect, as with the glue, is that the entire surface of the vellum has the adhesive on it.
