I think I am having a mid-life crisis. I am missing all those beautiful songs I grew up with. I used to listen to this song, in the afternoon, when the wind was blowing and I was taking a nap in the balcony of our house. My young days were full of thee beautiful and meaningful music.
this song got me through depression. It helped me fly away into the night. It never gave up on me. It never let me down. It never deserted me
Great tune from 1963. I was a senior at Georgetown and this brings back a ton of fond memories.
This song played during my fathers burial last week since this is one of his fave cascade song…i missed him so much❤️❤️
Hi Nikolai Alyssa , I am sorry for your loss. I will say a prayer for him and you. I lost my mother, I know the hurt. it will take time, but you will get better. Prayers to you and for you now... Dear Jesus in heaven, please help Nikoli get over his or her loss. and let his or her grieving go away and just be left with happy memories. Amen
Whenever i heard this song it makes me feel that im old and life is to short. But before that happens I'll make sure that I'm gonna show my families and friends that i love them so much and cherish them. Im 27 Btw
My dad loved this song. When I was young, I remember him playing this all the time that I memorized the whole song when I was six. My parents are divorced now, and I never get to see him again. My mother and I were the ones who initiated the divorce, though. He seems to have lost it and started to hurt my mom. I don't like him as much as I did before now. But I hope that wherever he is, he's doing okay. I still respect him, but I can never look up to him the way I did when I was young. Hearing this song makes me feel so nostalgic.
You do right by remembering your dad this way... However, don't feel bad about instigating the departure of a violent man... You and your mother deserve so much better than that.
Well, I love this song. I am so young but I like old songs coz I think they are just authentic and irreplaceable.
My grandma loves the cascades so does my mother they play old music every Sunday and hear this. It was really nostalgic since grandma has it as her own ringtone. It reminds me of beautiful green fields since I was a kid
Love this song. Harmony and sweet lyrics. Miss that in the music of today.
it always brings me to tear when i hear such beautiful songs of Cascades. I remember the old good days.
2023 and for more years ♥️
I first heard cascade music at my aunts house when she was listening to them, way back in the year 1979. And since then I fell in love with their music. Up to now cascade is still one of my favorite group singers. At that time they are only a rising star but already captured millions of hearts. But because of that tragic accident that took all their lives together at the same time they never made to the top, but for me they made it more than that because up to now they keep on capturing on millions of young ones heart. Thank you ksabond for bringing back their memories. May the good Lord bring them a nice place in heaven. Who knows maybe they keep on singing there too.
That tragic accident was nothing but a hoax . They were NOT all killed in a plane - crash .
Drum and Lyre ako nuon, isa to sa mga pinatugtug namin year 2009
July 2018 :) I still remember the story attached to this song. How I love my 3rd yr high school English teacher who's very passionate in teaching us. :* I also love puff the magic dragons, and rhythm of the rain. #nostalgic
This classic song was based on the 1903 short story by O Henry....rumor has it that the songwriter got the idea from watching the 1952 film which told Several of Mr. O Henry's short stories, including "The Last Leaf".....just beautiful...
2020 anyone?
Yes 😄 From BRAZIL. I'm 72 years old and I love to listen the songs from 60's.

When i was 15 yrs old(1970 yrs), they gave me the new music world. It was fantastic.
My dad forced me to sing this wonderful song for 40 hours a day until my voice box couldn’t handle it anymore and explode. Great memories, love this song❤
2022 who's with me 🙋
Nindot jud kaayo mga kanta ang Cascades, nindot kaayo ug mga tono, makahilak ta kahinumdom ta sa mga kagahapon
the sound of the blowing wind on the background awfully builds the scene and our imagination that something is happening to the tree in an open valley
Growing up in America during the 1960s I never heard this song played then or later on oldies' stations. While in the Philippines, I heard this song on the radio...imagine that?

Fantastic music. Love them. X.
The last leaf clings to the bough
Just one leaf, that's all there is now
And my last hope live with that lonely leaf, lonely leaf
With the last leaf that clings to the bough
Last summer beneath this tree
My love said she'd come back to me
Before the leaves of autumn touched the ground, touched the ground
My love promised she's be homeward bound
Then one by one the leaves began to fall
And now that winter's come to call
The last leaf that clings to the bough
Just one leaf, that's all there is now
Will my last hope fall with that lonely leaf, lonely leaf
With the last leaf, the last leaf
With the last leaf that clings to the bough
Bough, bough, bough
awesome Cascades, good ole memories.. thanks

This song never dies
The younger generation don't care about the legend behind "The Last Leaf".
A struggling failed painter lives in the ground level apartment. An over educated spoiled rich beautiful lady lived in the 2nd floor. Both of them were lonely and felt something was lacking in their lives.
In the late part of autumn she felt sick. Lying in her bed she looked at the 3 leaves clinging to the vine in the lonely tree just outside her window. Every day one leaf falls and the day came that just one lonely leaf was left clinging to the vine.
She told her parents and her nanny that when the last leaf falls to the ground she will die. The parents and the nanny were very worried. The painter overheard them.
That night there was a storm and for sure that last leaf must have fallen. But in the morning when the nanny open the window the leaf was still there clinging to the vine.
So the lady didn't die. After a few days she was very well.
Then they found out that the lonely leaf and the tree in the window were just actually paintings since the real tree have fallen down during the storm. It was so real. It was the failed painter's greatest master piece.
Well the story went on and the lady wanted to meet the painter.
But sadly the painter died that same night when he struggled to hang his painting at her window in the middle of the wild raging storm.
So she cried, "anguish is bitter than the passing of two hearts that never knew each other".
I was born in 2000's but I love to play this song
❤
Coming in here from the year 2023 lets go
Kahit luma na ang kanta nato para sa akin bago parin
If you like this song, another one you might like is the Cascades cover of Angel on My Shoulder, written and originally sung by Shelby Flint. I loved her version too.
