Renato Gortani is a mountain man. From the summit of Mount Zoncolan, in Carnia, he tells the story full of passion, fatigue and trust that has led him to love his craft and the beauty of the surrounding environment. In the pastures of Malga Pozof, the brown cows of the Gortani family spend the summer enjoying the scented botanical varieties that are precious to enhance the quality of the milk and the taste of cheese.
Living in contact with nature, understanding its evolution and kneeling at its will leads men like Renato to have confidence in God and trust in the divine providence. His father has taught him to face difficult moments by looking "up", at the sky, and this remains the most important life lesson for him.

Renato Gortani è un uomo di malga e dalla cima del Monte Zoncolan, in Carnia, racconta la storia di passione, fatica e fiducia che lo ha portato ad amare il suo mestiere e la bellezza dell'ambiente che lo circonda. Nei pascoli di Malga Pozof, le vacche brune della famiglia Gortani trascorrono l'estate cibandosi delle profumate varietà botaniche che si rivelano preziose per dare qualità al latte e gusto al formaggio.
Vivere a contatto con la natura, capirne le evoluzioni e inginocchiarsi al suo volere porta uomini come Renato ad avere fiducia in Dio e ad affidarsi alla divina provvidenza. È stato suo padre a insegnargli a guardare "in alto" nei momenti di difficoltà e questa rimane per lui la più importante lezione di vita.
