  • Hi! I'm Liz! Today kinda sucked lol. The end result was okay but it was just one of those day when every project feels like a fail. Watch me attempt to make in the hoop tags for my kids' Easter Baskets on the PE 770. Ugh!

    Liz, this is how we learn. Every time will get better. Keep practicing. You got this one!

    Peaches and Delores! 🥰 Girl, the fact that you took a deep breath and a coffee break says it all! Even though it feels frustrating in the moment, I feel like the projects that are the hardest or have the most tricky moments are the ones where we learn the most about our machines and materials. You’ve got this and the basket tag turned out super adorable!

    Relatable! The struggle with your own self to make what you really want ... sometimes it's a knock out drag out and ugly crying but when you make what you wanted the pride! And to be able to access your mistakes to decide how to make it better next time is a hard skill too.

    Thanks for being so real about this craft. Lots of frustration at times. We ALL make these mistakes. You are very creative and you’ll get it the next time. ❤️

    It reminds me of when I began this embroidery journey at the end of 2020. My first order gave me so many issues. I wanted to cry. LOL We all make mistakes. We all have that one day where everything goes wrong.
    I also think the stabilizer was the issue. I always make sure it covers the entire hoop. Bunny came out really cute.

    I love your videos girl!!!
    My mayor error when I started embroidery…. I broke my hoop trying to hoop a towel!!! That cost me money!!!
    I never hoop anything again , I float now.
    I think if you use big Stabilizer, it won’t move like that.
    ❤️❤️❤️

    Thank you for showing us warts and all! We have all made plenty of mistakes. One thing - at least your bottom piece of stabilizer has to be bigger than your hoop on ALL sides so you can pull it tight and it gets caught in the upper ring of the hoop. I finally got a thread stand for my PE800 cause my thread kept getting caught and jamming my machine. This fixed the problem.

    Hi Liz! I have these in my Etsy shop :) I sort of specialize in tags. So first...definitely make sure your stabilizer covers the entire hoop. Second vinyl/faux leather tends to stick to the metal and plastic of a flat bed machine. I have never used faux leather for the tags myself (I only use cotton fabric), so not 100% sure but it might be a little thick for the tag itself, but I could totally be wrong about that. If you wanted to try it again maybe put a piece of tissue paper under it when stitching and it might go smoother. As for the name, I have never been able to figure out how to arrange my file so that I could stitch the name before the backing stage, so I just manually move it to the name step and then go back to the backing and finishing steps. Hopefully this helps 🙂

    Faux leather sometimes needs a bigger needle. (I sew purses and handbags and use my embroidery machine with that at times). Also. Bigger stabilizer.

  • @MKCraftsandFamily
    @MKCraftsandFamily Před 2 lety

    I think your stabilizer was the problem… need it to fully fill your hoop … especially when needing to take on and off machine… it wiggles loose if not careful enough :) I think that caused the birds nest too… you’ll get it :) just need to run Peaches more! 🥰

  • @nypc_junkiemessnan2190

    Use it as a Patch Girl. Lol lol

  • @jolenedoty9815

    We all make mistakes ☹️ always learn from mistakes. I think the stabilizer is not long enough. You said you double it up, sometimes you mite have to use 3. The stabilizer should fit like a drum. Always clean out your bobbin, I do it every time before I start something. Or at least I check it. Double check you threading.
    When I first started I use to make a list of my step to do so I would stop making mistake because when I did I got so mad.
    Your right when things going wrong get up and walk away and go back later.
    Don’t feel back it still looked good.

    @maryn3079 Před 2 lety

    you need to have the stabilizer fit the whole hoop - when adding a name to that design you did fine except once the top fabric was tacked down you should have scrolled down to the name and let that stitch then scroll back up to where you were and add the back fabric and have that stitched then the satin stitch is the final stitch - hope this helps you out

  • @nypc_junkiemessnan2190

    Girl, if you don't get stabilizer that actually fits the hoop that you're using I'm going to jump thru my computer screen!! 😂😂
    It wasn't stabilized properly that's why the nesting. 90% of the time I'm stitching on faux leather and marine vinyl on my PE800 and that thing can zip thru 3 layers of it, so I don't think the thickness was the problem. It's good you're showing the "ugly side" of embroidering. Sometimes there's cuss words, tears and yes a lot of pan dulce involved 🤣🤣

      @@CoffeePoweredHome I use the 9x12 tear away from All-Stitch. That size is perfect for the 5x7 hoop. Trust me.

    Personally I don't like the word "fail" I consider it a learning experience. Step back, re-evaluate and then try again by perhaps from a different perspective. Hang in there we all have projects that don't come out as expected. And there are some projects we need to put in the "naughty" corner.
