One super subtle hint? When Cole goes to open the bedroom door he asks Malcom not to go home, a Very wierd thing if he brought the boy, but right after he says it you see Cole open the door by the reflection in the doorknob and it's Just Cole. Malcolm is standing behind him but he's not reflected in the doorknob, because he's not there.

Sounds much like when I got to see it - at the end (when those that hadn't seen it - and were used for 'reaction entertainment purposes' by their friends that HAD seen it) did the same and all gasped in amazement - but I was more floored that people had been careful not to spoil it! 👏👏 But yeah, sweet twist.
Haha, yet now? People will fight to be the FIRST to post a 'Spoiler' - I'm sure they are well-rounded, friendly, happy, and thoughtful humans, they mean well 🤭🤣

New scenes start 'in the middle' like he's just stepped into a moment that drew him and some end abruptly when he can no longer interact with the people there. And he isn't shown living the mundane parts of a life in between. A haunting from the ghost's pov.

What a joy to see young people react the way these people are reacting which, it should be pointed out, is the way everybody reacted when we saw it the first time. It's nice to be connected to people 30 years apart. But to me, there's something much more important here.
I don't know that somebody in their 30s has seen Bruce Willis in anything great unless they sat through the old Die Hard movies. For us to know what he's going through now personally is assuaged a little bit seeing new generations discover this movie and his acting and his appeal. It says that one of the most important and entertaining actors of my generation won't be forgotten or ignored or overlooked for decades to come.

The most amazing thing about this movie ...Whether it was watched at the theater or bought even years later. The ending was not admitted to people that had not yet seen it. Those that had didn't want to ruin it for others. This Could/Would Not be possible today. Excellent story and writing by M. Night Shyamalan.

The first time seeing the ending was like suddenly falling off a high building, going faster and faster, still trying to watch what was in front of your eyes but your mind racing backward doing the math. The brilliance of it was almost numbing.

Something you'll only notice HERE -- one of these reactors FIGURED OUT the twist from the very beginning, yet the ending still worked just as powerful. "He didn't know? This whole time? That's why this, that's why that.... still works as well. Very masterfully structured film.

Mostly thinking how unfair it all was for Malcom. It also didn’t help that Bruce Willis was always my favorite actor growing up.

This movie scared the hell out of me and I didn't really understand the concept of the movie other than the fact Cole could see ghosts (dead people) and the kitchen scene with the woman still haunts me in my dreams. But as I am older and watched it again, I fully understood the concept and the twist ending.

  • @Scorehound

The Sixth Sense os one of the most intelligently made films, and not just for the twist ending. It was emotional and the performances by the entire cast were nothing short of perfect. It's a rare gem of a movie, and it's this kind of film that I hope M. Night Shyamalan can create again, a film that pulls you in all directions, making you believe one thing while plainly showing you the clues right in front of your face. Signs did a very good job of this, and in my opinion even The Village, while not well received, had a story and a twist that I thought was pretty well done. The music of James Newton Howard really helps as well. The Sixth Sense is an incredible film.

My brother and I figured out the "twist" about halfway thru the movie. Spoilers werent really a thing back then. We aren't geniuses, but the story was way too familiar to a Are You Afraid of the Dark episode Tale of the Dream Girl. So after a few scenes of nobody noticing Bruce Willis, was enough to figure it out. Great movie, tho😊

The ending is surprising! How he says he has a couple things left to do; first, he needed to help someone - which he did, and second he needed to tell his wife she was never second, even though this is the second thing he does, not the first, so his action says she's second but his words say she's not.
