Jongho is definitely the best male vocalist in his generation. He and San have a duet cover they did called “dear name” and it’s STUNNING. it shows off both of their vocal talent so well.
Maybe not in the whole kpop industry since there’s amazing vocalists in the past generations like BtoB Seventeen and Day6 but in the 4th generation he’s got no match ❤️

Jongho is honestly one of the best in all of kpop. Hard to believe but he has a ton of haters who says his voice sounds like screaming especially in ateez songs & that he “struggles to hit high notes” due to his facial expressions. Matz Production Behind is a great watch. Especially the end where Hongjoong is in the recording booth. Also, I much prefer the Performance Version of the MV if you decide to do the Production Behind. as an atiny but also lover of vocals I would say his voice is one of the best of his generation. But 4th gen is not really known for strong vocals, It's more of a 2d and 3d gen thing. I personally don't think he is quite on the level of older gens but it's also down to personal preferences up there, when everyone has rock solid techniques and it's up to a personal vocal color. But also important to note: he is STILL improving. He works on his craft all the time! That is not to ignore that his voice gives me SHIVERS and brings me to tears all the time! Just trying to be objective!
yes, he still has more time to improve even further since the 2nd and most 3rd gen still have a head start on him when it comes to time spent on their voices/how long they've been singing professionally and things like access to vocal coaches who work with you very well as an individual.
I would say Jongho has amazing vocals. I really like SM vocals and I am sure if Jongho was in a SM group he would undoubtedly be recognized The KING of 4th generation. In my opinion no 4th or 5th gen idol can touch him. As for 2nd or 3rd generation I think he can hold his own but you can really tell just how much more experience older generations have in singing. There are many AMAZING vocalist in 2nd and 3rd gen Kpop boy groups that the deep dive would blow you mind away. in 2nd Gen: *TVXQ!* *Super Junior* - (especially their main vocalist sub unit K.R.Y) Their group vocals can really be appreciated in their b-sides, their title tracks are more on the boppy side and crazy addictive. *2PM* *SHINee* 3rd Gen I am not that well versed in all groups because it was an era of many many groups but, *EXO* are considered legendary status in 3rd gen. *BTOB* *Monsta X* 's main vocalist, Kihyun is Jongho's bias. He is a huge Monbebe (fandom name) and is very close to the members of the group. *Seventeen* - I know them because many Super Junior fans like this group as well since they have very similar vibes as group dynamics, as well as good vocals.
Jongho has solo stuff mostly covers or OST for Kdramas (recently I really like A Day from the Lovely Runner OST). He has performed on King Of Masked Singer, and he really loves ballads. As someone who really likes unique sounding voices I do have a list of male vocalists I love in Kpop. Are they better than Jongho, maybe, maybe not. Jongho is up there for sure. I am a Melody so I love BtoB and they have beautiful vocalists and harmonies, so they are my number one (they did a Killing Voice so if you want to see what they have to offer, I strongly suggest) My bias might be Changsub, but that is too hard. People argue that SM Entertainment have some of the best vocalists in Kpop, maybe true (I still don't like SM though). I like Baekhyun (and Chen and D.O) from EXO, Onew and Jonghyun from SHINee Personally I love WOODZ (soloist), Woosung from The Rose, Yonghoon from ONEWE, DK from Seventeen, Taeyang from Bigbang, Sungjin from Day6, Yoon from WINNER, I could probably keep going. There is lots of talent in South Korea

Youth one of my favorite if not my favorite off the album was produce by Mingi. He wrote the lyrics when he 20 I believe. I love when we get to see Mingi’s vulnerable side. He wanted to do the song with no one but Yunho. Yunho wrote his parts. Love the vibe, instrumentals, the choreography, vocals in this song. Almost 10 years friendship!
I recommend san and jongho's cover of Dear Name. It is probably my favorite cover they've done. I recommend Wave, Deja Vu, and all their title tracks, really. You can check out how their sound progressed over the years starting from Pirate King and Treasure.
Jongho has a lot of covers on the Ateez channel! My favorite he did is Wildflower its soooo good. He also recently got another OST for the Kdrama "Lovely Runner" which is called "A Day" and they uploaded a special live clip for that on their channel. The song "MATZ" was written and produced by HongJoong and Seongwha. Seongwha expressed an interest to do a hip-hopstyle song so voila, they came up with this. MATZ of course is the two elder, its been a long running joke within the group because their are 5 tht are born in 1999. The lyrics also mention a rabid fan that put a tracker on their car, like in the beginning of the video.

Oh, and I don't know if this was Hongjoong's intention, to give a shout-out or pay homage so to speak to G-Dragon, at ard here 4:45, when he says that nasal "UH" because it sounded almost exactly like G-Dragon in Bigbang's Fantastic Baby where his lines went "UH! Answer & Wonderland for SURE. Wonderland is just amazing too and another anthem like stank face song. Also YES to album Reactions, BUT if you are, I can recommend using live performances to pair with some of the Album songs. User sanie on YT has the DVD uploaded stage lives that are without like excessive screaming (lol, i dont blame them tho). Treasure (their first) albums are the beginning, and are split into this red vs blue, bad vs good vibe. If you want good vibes and bangers (well all of ateez music are bangers) then the Fever Series is a good start too (this was my fave album series before THE WORLD Part 2 Outlaw Album). Personally my fave album Series (since the albums are split into 3 or 4 parts, 3 korean albums and maybe a Japanese one to match) is the WORLD ALBUMS (absolutely insane, but a more dark and freedom fighter vibe, featuring Halazia, Guerilla, Crazy form, these MVs, Bouncy n much more!) I suggest finishing the WORLD EP FIN before going to the next tho. Cause you may be spoiled before you know it. If you want to start from the first album thats fine, but its up to what vibe or message you wanna go for, for each album. Matz was so surprising for Atinys, cause we were expecting a softer song, as Hongjoong had written Thank You, a song for Seonghwa. But Hwa wanted a Hip Hop heavy song and thats what we got. You can check out the behind the scenes Production Video if thats your thing too. Also Mingi wrote Youth during his Hiatus for his mental Health. He wanted Yunho's voice and well, when has Yunho ever said no to Mingi, lol. Lastly for Everything, when it first came out I decided to listen to it right after twerking to Matz. Bruh it is just feels. But thats what you get for the best 4th gen Vocalist. I recommend his osts, but my fave is his and san's special cover. the choi boys vocals together are beautiful PS. they each wrote their Unit Songs.
i cant recommend you his episode on lee mujin enough. he is truly amazing and so freaking sweet and hard working! For the second song to Answer i would maybe recommend Hala Hala, just because i haven’t heard you talk able it at all AND it slaps of course. Another thing i wanted to add, because i have noticed you geek out on choreo as well and remembering it very well, are dance practices! trust me when i say, the songs get so much better somehow when you see it told visually 🤌🏻
I mean Jongho did a Brian McKnight song as an Audition song that should tell you something. He continues to do voice/singing lessons even though he is Amazing. I had the privilege hearing Everything Live in New York. I kid you not tears automatically was in my eyes. I’m very much a music person and I can confidently say, he is one of the top vocalists I ever heard.

Told you everything was amazing - but Jongho is one of the best and most consistent vocalists LIVE (which is what counts to me) across all active vocalists. I have two performances of Everything live on my phone, the live vocals on the latest build up are even more clear in person than on the recording. Not to mention, he’s singing an entire concert otherwise and every moment with his notes is just so consistently perfect. He is insane.
Hongjoong pretty much produced the song Matz there is a video of the making of the song. He wrote his parts as well. I believe he broken his fast rap record with Matz. I believe Wake Up had that title first. Seonghwa wrote his parts as well as pitch the direction of where the song should go. Captain Hongjoong is so hardworking in making music as well as I agree with you, one of the coolest idols!

Jongho is the best 4th gen singer hands down. My other favourite vocalists are DK (seventeen), jungkook (BTS) and d.o (exo). I'm not even a fan of seventeen or exo, but the vocalists are insane.

EXO's Chen and Baekhyun have an impressive vocal range but I think Jongho is my favorite.. In BTS there is no one who can compare to Jongho's vocal range. It is true that they have good vocals but they are not at the level of Ateez's maknae. Thank you for continuing to react to Ateez. I think the more you know about them, the more they will catch you.

Also YES to album Reactions, BUT if you are, I can recommend using live performances to pair with some of the Album songs. User sanie on YT has the DVD uploaded stage lives that are without like excessive screaming (lol, i dont blame them tho).
Treasure (their first) albums are the beginning, and are split into this red vs blue, bad vs good vibe. If you want good vibes and bangers (well all of ateez music are bangers) then the Fever Series is a good start too (this was my fave album series before THE WORLD Part 2 Outlaw Album).
Personally my fave album Series (since the albums are split into 3 or 4 parts, 3 korean albums and maybe a Japanese one to match) is the WORLD ALBUMS (absolutely insane, but a more dark and freedom fighter vibe, featuring Halazia, Guerilla, Crazy form, these MVs, Bouncy n much more!) I suggest finishing the WORLD EP FIN before going to the next tho. Cause you may be spoiled before you know it.
If you want to start from the first album thats fine, but its up to what vibe or message you wanna go for, for each album.
Matz was so surprising for Atinys, cause we were expecting a softer song, as Hongjoong had written Thank You, a song for Seonghwa. But Hwa wanted a Hip Hop heavy song and thats what we got. You can check out the behind the scenes Production Video if thats your thing too. Also Mingi wrote Youth during his Hiatus for his mental Health. He wanted Yunho's voice and well, when has Yunho ever said no to Mingi, lol.
Lastly for Everything, when it first came out I decided to listen to it right after twerking to Matz. Bruh it is just feels. But thats what you get for the best 4th gen Vocalist. I recommend his osts, but my fave is his and san's special cover. the choi boys vocals together are beautiful

I mean Jongho did a Brian McKnight song as an Audition song that should tell you something. He continues to do voice/singing lessons even though he is Amazing. I had the privilege hearing Everything Live in New York. I kid you not tears automatically was in my eyes. I’m very much a music person and I can confidently say, he is one of the top vocalists I ever heard.
@@djcutie87 yeah you can’t be complacent with your voice even if you’re as great as he is. A lot of singers will continue to work on their voice and to perfect even further. That’s a sign that he will be great for a long time.
Told you everything was amazing - but Jongho is one of the best and most consistent vocalists LIVE (which is what counts to me) across all active vocalists. I have two performances of Everything live on my phone, the live vocals on the latest build up are even more clear in person than on the recording. Not to mention, he’s singing an entire concert otherwise and every moment with his notes is just so consistently perfect. He is insane.

Hongjoong pretty much produced the song Matz there is a video of the making of the song. He wrote his parts as well. I believe he broken his fast rap record with Matz. I believe Wake Up had that title first. Seonghwa wrote his parts as well as pitch the direction of where the song should go. Captain Hongjoong is so hardworking in making music as well as I agree with you, one of the coolest idols!

Jongho is the best 4th gen singer hands down.
My other favourite vocalists are DK (seventeen), jungkook (BTS) and d.o (exo).
I'm not even a fan of seventeen or exo, but the vocalists are insane.
Jongho is the leader of the 4th gen and I’d argue one of the best vocalists ever. He has a few solos as he’s done some ost songs (like Gravity) for Ateez he’s done a cover released on his birthday, and most recently one with San (this is absolutely amazing)
If you enjoy vocals, I’d check this too as it has 3 amazing singers (one is Jongho) it’s from Kingdom (and unless you put some sort of cover I think you can’t review it because it gets blocked) but i think you’ll enjoy it

EXO's Chen and Baekhyun have an impressive vocal range but I think Jongho is my favorite..
In BTS there is no one who can compare to Jongho's vocal range. It is true that they have good vocals but they are not at the level of Ateez's maknae.
