ABOUT:
Hi, I'm Wendy, and I have been on a sewing journey ever since my mom taught me how to make little outfits for my dolls. I studied engineering and business, had an office job for two years, and then quit to embark on a lifelong sewing adventure on CZcams. Subscribe to join me on the adventure, and maybe make your own clothing too! Thanks for watching ❤️ - Jak na to + styl
Even while I was cutting the fabric I caught myself thinking, "make sure you leave enough to make something else-" GIRL NO 😂 I needed this reminder that it's great to use up every last bit and then say GOODBYE to the fabric I love. Your votes on what fabric to use had me feeling nervous but I'm so happy with the outcome that Julia and I reached!
Did you regret any of the vote outcomes? Shall we do this again so you can cast your votes differently? Let us know 👀
Yes again!! Please, respectfully, do this again!
This was so fun! Yes, do it again 😃
Fantastic way to use up your fabric! This would make a great series on your channel. I enjoyed seeing the different things you and Julia came up with.
I`m also in the process of using the fabric I already have and not buying new😄
Please do this again, this was amazing ❤️ and also making me think of using up my massive fabric stash
Honestly, I really like Julias "promotion" to narrate and do her own project in this video. Gives a cozy, sewing with friends vibe :)
Yes! More Julia please Wendy!!!
I'm so glad you feel that way because while filming we actually even had one work session together where it was just the whirr of our machines for a whole afternoon and checking in with one another once in a while, a happy sewing time!
Sewing with friends is the best😊
@@withwendy Who is Julia? Is she a friend? Relative? How do you know her? Would love to know more about her and any public social media platforms of hers. Her shirt was breathtaking! (Yours was super cool and interesting, too!)
@@ktkrogstad me too I was looking for her socials :,)
Julia looks so beautifully avant-garde. I love how you both challenged yourselves creatively and it turned out so nicely! very inspiring
Yes!! I could not stop complimenting her when we met up to film her finished piece, so good!
Where do you wear such amazing creations?
julia's top was so stunning!! you were spot on with the figure-skating comment, it looks like something yuzuru hanyu might wear!!! yours gave me very much "frolicking in the flowers but i'm a young victorian boy" and i am HERE FOR IT. incredible work, both of you! looking forward to seeing more of julia's work too :)
i need juila to make a pattern for this blouse... i WILL pay to have it! it's stunning!
same!!!
ME 2 omfg

this felt like a documentary from a fashion show at times with the different ateliers working together hahah
It did! Amazing 😍
JULIA!!! OMG we love to see more of her creations ahhh that was so prettyyyyy
I really appreciated you talking about building your skills :) I feel like I see people doing so many projects with complicated skills that I feel like would take me so much time to master so I loved that you were transparent about it!
My youtube channel really has been the greatest motivator and teacher for me to keep learning and practising techniques! Sometimes it hurts to look at an older video and see how I used to do things but I've grown to embrace them as time capsules of growth 🥲
@@withwendy i always take pics of me sewing and I feel this way too! Amazing to see the growth and progress even a few months makes 😻 I loved this video please do more!!!
You neeeeeeed to continue with a series like that!! It’s always so interesting and exciting to see what one can come up with in a challenge like this!! Loved every second
My jaw dropped when I saw Julia’s piece. Great job both of you!
Oh my stars! Happy Marlamallow! She looks adorable in her new winter coat!
Tip for sewing with stretch materials Wendy - when you pin, pin perpandicular to the stitch line, not along it. Not only will it enable you to pull pins out as you go (much faster with no stops!) it will help stop the fabric slipping or shifting along the length of the needle.
I love this challenge! Who doesn’t struggle with having too many leftover materials? This is perfect for that and just so so creative!
Julia and you are so talented! Even just the patterns have my jaw dropped
The Lutterloh system they were using is also just an amazing piece of equipment. It's not the cheapest but if you look into it it kind of is with how many different things you can make just from the patterns they give you.
Can highly recommend it if you are into sewing yourself. All of their patterns can easily be adjusted too and are relatively easy to work with.
I would buy the pattern for Julia's design IN A HEARTBEAT

"I want to stop collecting fabric" Me: "Unsubscribe, I don't need that kind of negativity in my life". Just kidding, lol I actually love to see other people cut up and use their fabric while I just hoard mine. Lovely creations!
Lol. I'm about to head out for a very long walk...to a fabric store. It's my motivation, for getting my steps in, lol.
Love fabric, don't see anything wrong with collecting it!
i love julia!!!!! her sense of fashion is definitely close to mine. i was obsessed with her vision from the start and to see how it came out and how she styled it…. chef kiss !!!!!!!!
both of your designs turned out great. i'd love to be able to sew as well as you both. it just sounds like complicated math to me when you explained the patterns and design approach. Julia's top would make an amazing dress that i could see on euphoria. nice to see such talented toronto ladies killing it :)
As a US American sewist, I love how Wendy says "centimeter". It also sounds nice to deal with a smaller, precise measurement instead of doing a lot of fractions with inches!
I hope julia considers having her own youtube channel! 🙏
This video was so entertaining and refreshing and really inspired me to use more of my fabric stash for upcoming projects! Both your makes came out so beautiful and avant garde 💕 You really came so far with your skills in the last couple of years Wendy, it’s amazing what you can do! Can’t wait for the next video ✨
Julia looks like a beautiful fairy! And you did such a nice job on your top! The hook and eye came together so beautifully!!
Why is Julia so cool omg!!!! I love both the outcomes of the challenge, they both were your styles and SO unique!
Both turned out so well and Julia's top really suits her. Love how it's see through but also not at the same time, that particular texture is just something I really enjoy.
I'm definitely up for more installments of this challenge.
OMG! Both tops were amazing! Can we get the patterns for both? I'm willing to buy them, I want to make my own cool top.
I held my breath the whole time you sewed the hook and eye. That is it's own skill set. And it came out fantastic. Good job.
I was bonding with a lady from my local fabric store about the enormous fabric obsession that occurs when you are a sewist. She soon confessed that her house if full of fabrics (like mine), but that her husband has no idea that she also hires a storage facility to keep all the rest of her fabrics homed. I need to organise a spot where I can see all my fabrics like you, Wendy, or I may be paying rent on a secret storage facility soon enough!
My favourite thing you ever made will forever be this cute squishy human, sorry no matter how great your projects are. Little human will always stand out
These tops are everything!!! I loove the one that Julia made, it's like a fantasy
Smiling little Marla gave ma a massive serotonin boost 😭💕
I love how your design turned out, Wendy!
Uhmm. That design is INCREDIBLE. GURL. That's a real designer piece you've sewn right there. It looks SO luxury and expensive!!
First I want say how much I LOVE this channel ! When I grew up ( referring to my sewing since I’m pretty sure I’m older in age) I want to be just like you but in my own way. And Secondly Shout out to Julia who is a straight BOSS!!!! That shirt ate… and left no crumbs!!
Julia’s piece is literally my dream style she’s goals 😭😭😭😭
what a fun challenge. i'm so guilty of just continually buying fabric i love and then never feeling like a project is worthy of the fantastic fabric i own. both of your creations came out amazing, and it was so fun seeing julia have her own little segment too.
Omg, I love how Julia's garment came out. It's not what i expected. You were so right that she was doing the most but it was definitely worth it. I love how your garment came out as well. I love the texture of fabrics you decided to use. I love the hook and eye closings for the front of the top. That feels very different for me. It honestly looks so cool.
Ooo Wendy I love the collar on this piece. It's deceptively complex and extremely flattering! I love how all the simple elements came together to make this beautiful bodice.
what the hell you guys, this was AMAZING!!! i'm always struggling with changing patterns, it's scary cause if you do it wrong it leads to an avalanche of wrongs that are hard to fix. i'm so proud of you!!!
YOU GUYS ARE SOOOO AMAZING. I CAN NOT STRESS HOW MUCH I LOVED JULIA'S PIECE AND WENDY'S BLOUSE WAS SO RIGHT UP MY ALLEY!!! i loved both blouses so much im crying jealous tears ; u ;
THE BUNDLED BABY AT 5:42 JUST MADE MY WEEK.
Like seeing you expand to her camera too! Julia did amazing. I am CRAZY about Wendy's top....stunning. and I love how you saw your own growth and proud to proclaim it. It's not bragging! It's celebration. And 🎉🎉🎉 we're here for it!
Wow! Julia’s vision and execution.
And I love Wendy’s ruffles everywhere!!
Marla’s beautiful lil smile is everything 🥰 cute finds too. Fun designs 💛💛💛💛 YOUR BOTH SO TALENTED 🤍🤍🤍🤍
Loved to see how differently both of you approached this challenge. Extremely fun!
5:50 6:01 baby marla smiling. that's it. i'm dead. she's so cute
You both look fabulous! Julia's outfit was my favourite, I'd definitely wear something like that in the summer 😎
I don't know how I missed this video but omg smiley little Marla in her winter coat is literally fixing every single problem in my life right now. 🥰
This was the final push I needed to start trying to draft my own patterns. Both of these are so beautiful!!
MORE OF THIS PLEASE! I absolutely love seeing the creativity from trying to use up the dreaded "fabric stash". Great job both of you!!!
So cool that you show all the dos and don'ts as you go. I made my wedding dress of cotton eyelet border fabric. I used the border at square neck and hem, (tea length). It was beautiful, with a large dirndl skirt, and simple top with raglan short sleeves, and crushed cummerbund. The eyelet was the star. Great to see you both make such gorgeous tops with your left over yardage. Very creative. Love seeing the baby so grown.
Both tops were so beautiful! Loved seeing Julia do her thing, absolutely magical
The fact that you put up definitions for the sewing terminology in the video is just *chef's kiss* wonderful. I'm already acquainted with most of the terms but it's so helpful to see it in the video instead of catching the word and having to pause and google it. Great attention to detail. I love your editing style so much. Thank you
Your sewing videos are always so chill and relaxing to watch. Both projects came out SO beautiful!!
I am loving the editing. The bits of background music, the comments (the godet 2.0 one made me cackle!), just....everything.
Julia is amazing, she just whipped that up like it was nothing!!
So fun to watch you and Julia sketch and create your own designs with your fabric scrapes! Can’t wait to see what you two make next ☺️
Oh my gosh, I’m usually not much for babies, I don’t get the appeal a lot of the time, but your child is literally so adorable 🥺🥺 what a precious little angel
These turned out amazingly. Congratulations on seriously killing it with this project. Fantastic work 👍
I’m LOVING this format where you both do projects side by side. It’s so fun :) seeing your different styles is so cool.
You two!!! Fabulous. what a treat.
Omg that hook and eye closing.❤
They both turned out phenomenal
So lovely to see Julia’s work! She’s so knowledgeable and talented!
that was FREAKIN AMAZING! Both very elaborate makes! Beautiful I am so impressed and inspired!
I love this format! it's great to finally meet you Julia
Loved this! Was awesome to see a bit more of Julia in this video and I loved the vibe of you two sewing your own individual projects.
i am in love with julias top. the fabrik used. the flow. EVERYTHING
I loved this concept! I’d love to see more like this. And I loved getting more Julia. You both made such beautiful things!
Both of these are absolutely gorgeous! I haven't touched a machine since school but suddenly feel like I need to dust it off and buy white off cuts x
This was soooo good; such a simple idea to use material you have, turned into such amazing garments; congrats!!!
Love both looks, and I love both you and Julia talking about the porcess!
THESE PIECES!!!! They both look so good 😍😍
Both of your projects turned out soo good! I would love to see Julia more often in the videos. Also I would like both of you to explain more in detail how to alter pattern etc. I'm always struggling with the more technical part of sewing
more julia always makes me happy! lovely to see both of your processes in this one! both creations look amazing!
So creative, so special. Love both of your final garments.
wow wendy the result is so beautiful! you are a huge inspiration and motivation for me to improve my sewing skills more and more. I also found the explanations of individual terms incredibly helpful. Thank you!
Julia's shirt was GORGEOUS. Wendy's was FANTASTICAL. WHERE'S THE FASHION BRAND LADIES I WILL DROP MONEY FOR THESE WORKS OF ART!!!
I recently thrifted a blouse similar to what you Wendy made and I am just amazed at the level of your skills. Hard to believe for me that I just watched you make it with such ease and peace!
Your two garments came out absolutely wonderful 😱😱😱
You have so much talent and such vision too, I could never have imagined these pieces, let alone made them. Please do this some more, it's really inspiring
Omg they both turnt out SO beautiful ❤️.
These are both amazing!
Wow you two did amazing!!! I’m truly so impressed
I really enjoyed this sewing video.😊 Both garments were beautifully constructed. Great Job! And an extra KUDDOS to you for making something from your existing stash. I have loads of fabric and I still can't stop purchasing more. I really need an intervention when it comes to buying textiles.
Both looks really good!!
I loved this video! I also love that you mentor Julia - perfect example of women supporting women!
Even though it wasnt really planned, I think the mix of all the different white fabrics made your top even more interesting, Wendy! 👍
You both completed gorgeous projects! Well done, both of you!!
I love how similar yet totally different these both are! yay for Julia spotlight!
I absolutely love both of guys looks!!! More videos like this please!!
Wow Julias Blouse is sooo cool! You can really see the vision behind it and it suits her style just perfectly with the hairstyle and her tattoos! Love it 😍
Absolutely LOVED this video for so many reasons!! ❤ Thank you for touching on your journey - I've watched many of your past videos since finding your channel a while back, but your recognition of your growth is a great motivator 😊
Wow! You both did such an amazing job! Would loooove to see more of those!
OMG this made my day!!! Wendy and Julia this is amazing!!! You guys are so so talented and it is a joy to watch you both make such beautiful clothes ❤️❤️❤️ keep going you’re doing great ✨✨✨
This is one of my favourite episodes. So cool to see you gals designing and constructing your very own custom styles. And a cool challenge to use fabric already in your stash. Really entertaining and inspiring! Thankuuu!
marla's an ANGEL she's soooo adorable!!!
Wow Wendy! This is one of your best pieces. I am so impressed
Both of these blouses are stunning! I'm excited to see more fabric challenges in the future.
Thank you for showing us the patterns for these lovely blouses so I can do the classic sewist thing: reverse engineering and replicating super cute stuff!!!
I don't know why but I'm in loveee with this video!! PLEASE do more of these!! Also I love seeing Julia having an active role and seeing her own style and creativity
both of you are absolutely incredible! love this challenge and how unique the final pieces turned out, also happy to see more of julia! 🤍🤍
