As a fellow mini aussie owner, I can confirm that constant suppressed panic is like half their personality lmao Mine also looks like that when I groom him. It's the face he makes when he's unsure about what's going on around him but it's not worth it to put up a fight because he knows he can't get out of it and maybe if he's quiet and cute he'll get some treats (which he always does!)

The one eye that's both brown and blue is mesmerizing.
It started off full dark blue, at 8 weeks when we were taking her home it was half light green half blue, then it got darker and now it’s a light brown and half blue! ❤
I used to work at a doggy daycare and one of the Mini-American Sheps would blow bubbles in the water bowls. It was heart melting adorable.
Butters used to drink her water with BOTH paws in the bowl. Since she was 6 weeks old.. it checks out. 😂

@Mr. X often times, it is unnecessary and many breeds dont require it medically. My dog for example, didn't need her tail docked (especially too short), but I didn't do it so I made the best of it and adored the wiggle.
Some breeds don't grow tails well or at all. So it can be natural, even if some medical clean up is the owners choice to smooth out a spot they find causes pain or balance issues.
Butters is my favorite dog in the GWTD cinematic universe. Really happy to see her return!

It’s tough to say which made me giggle more: your delight with the “wiggle butt!”…or the head-cocking side-flipping post-bandana doggy grin. I mostly giggled for the last minute or so of the video. Butters hasn’t changed her looks at all. She still had the same facial expressions as when she was a pup. She’s gone from a little baby to a big baby still cute ask the same.
That wiggle butt reminds me of my last dog. She was a wire-hair fox terrier and Brittany Spaniel mix. She had the same wiggle butt! So cute! I still miss my girl. She's been gone for almost 6 years.

Hey, Vanessa, one video you absolutely NEED to do is going over various grooming tools, how they work, the differences between them, what coat types require what tools, and how they should be used. In various videos, you said the wrong tool and/or wrong technique can damage a coat and hurt an animal. Most of us have no idea what to do.
she has mentioned many of them in the other videos. Not in one big video, but in many videos she mentions a little at a time. like how she uses a certain brand of clippers because they are lighter but she prefers the blades of another brand and puts them in there. etc.
Maybe she does that on the channel with the long videos.
I shall attempt and try to explain what type of brushes you can use on what type of coat. Feel free to correct me or add something.
I will not guarantee for the accuracy of this post. I don’t have a lot of experience with other tools such as the shampoo or anything like that though.
The slicker brush: great for medium to long coated dogs with denser (fluffyier) fur (such as the golden or the australien Shepard), usually used to brush out knots and anything larger that can be found in a dogs fur. I think it is used on curly haired breeds as well.
The rake: usually used to get out the undercoat and loosen/cut out knots and mattings, for medium to long haired dogs with undercoat.
The equigroomer/ furminator: it comes in different coat lengths, but I prefer to use them on short haired breeds to get out the pointy hair that could potentially get stuck in your trousers. (Includes the Dalmatian, Weimaraner, Beagle etc). The purpose is to brush out the undercoat, but it works with the top coat as well. Some people use the long fur version of the furminator for dogs with quite some undercoat (husky etc). I have no experience with the equigroomer.
The rubber brush: I like to use them on short haired breeds such as above to remove the top layer of loose hair still stuck on the dog. They also tend to enjoy it.
The comb: perfect for detangling knots and matting (if you want to take your time)
The hand: great for working on rough coated dogs. Some need to be plucked (apparently that is the case with the Irish wolf hound, never owned one, but the owner of the dog I knew did so it). It is however even better on petting the dog or handing out treats.
Boar bristle brush: great for training a puppy to understand and get used to the idea of brushing. I head it makes she coat shinier.
There are probably more, but I can’t remember them.
I’d really like that to. It wouldn’t have to be super in depth but maybe talk about the most useful tools for dog owners and why they suit some dogs and would damage the coat of others 👌🔆
There is a nicer way to say this than demanding it from someone who owes you absolutely nothing

so very cute. I have 2 mini Australian shepherds. One is 17lbs the other is close to 40lbs. One of them have eyes like butters. They are very sweet, and very smart for sure.
Absolutely adore this breed. I had a regular sized Aussie for 13 years. She was just over a year old when I was blessed with her. A natural seizure alert dog, she trained me and faithful companion. I learned that when she would sneeze it was because she was very happy and having fun. Her way of laughing and showing joy. Her nick name was wiggle butt. I didn't mind the vacuuming at all. Regular brushing helped with that and she loved being groomed, which I learned to do myself. A good vet quality ear cleaner is a must as they can be prone to ear infections if not kept clean and dry. Also keep an eye on their back molars as they age. They are prone to problems and may need to be removed eventually, even with regular brushing and vet checks.
Not appropriate for anyone who is away often or thinks that dogs should live outside. This very smart breed must be part of your family, regularly exercised with walks and a big back yard and trained with love and respect. You may have to start spelling things in front of them as they can understand at least 80 words.
Slow to warm up with strangers and need introductions as they will posture and protect their flock/people.
Will occationally not allow children to leave the yard or area as their herding instinct is strong. Needs to be well socialized with other dogs or may become aggressive in protection of their people with other dogs.

Oh my gosh, Butters!! She's grown up into such a beautiful fluffy pupper! Her first video came out not long after I got my own MAS puppy who was similar in age so I was especially endeared to her and am glad to see her on the channel again! Her reaction to the blow dryer looked *exactly* like my Luna's when I groom her.. 😂 And she definitely has one SERIOUSLY adorable wigglebutt!!

I love how you can almost just see on Butters' face they are saying "No" when asked if ready.
No vaccume can defeat that fur. I tried for a year on mine, I gave up. Had my Aussie for 16 years, hes been gone for 5 now. Once in a long while I would find some fur left behind, and it would bring me to tears. I was so thankful for it.
Now that I have moved from my old place, I havent seen any since, I pray that I will find just one more little tuft of his fur within my stuff. He was my rock when I came home from my deployments from the Army. He kept my sanity when I struggled the most. I miss him something terrible, I always will.

Dalmatians also seem to be wired to love horses. When our Dalmatian saw a horse on the trail or had a chance to meet a horse he was always fascinated like he recognized he was meant for a different station in life among horses.
Her expression reminds me of my Aussie when it's bath time: cooperative but looking horrified the whole time (he does love the dryer and the sleeker brush process to floof him up though because he knows he's gonna be a Handsome Man™️)
Butters seems a touch wary/tense.

She cleaned up very nicely.
Shepherds just kinda be like that sometimes. They can be VERY single-minded, so you can often see them moving their focus around from one thing to another quickly. Paired with their energy and what's going on, it can seem like nervousness or panic. In reality, they could just be constantly trying to look behind you or something. They have a hell of a working drive, so they have to be paying attention to something at all times when active, and they LOVE high-octane situations.
This one is a little tense, though. They tend not to like getting tied down and trapped in. They often need to have an escape plan and ability to bolt to be completely comfortable unless extensively trained. This one has been to groomers her whole life, and even that isn't as extensive as it needs to be sometimes.
To those who think about getting a shepherd, keep in mind that they are the epitome of a working dog, even if there isn't a job to do. They will want to please you more than any other dog. Without proper training and an outlet for their energy, they will do what they have to in order not to be bored. Teach them to run around on command and play fetch. Speeding around and doing a task is all they want out of life, usually. Keep in mind their single-track mind, though. Simple things can often be confused by their intelligence and their drive to make their people happy. Be on top of behaviors for the first 2 years, at least, because they can quickly adapt to a new normal if they're allowed to do something for long enough, and if they think they're doing the right thing it can sometimes be difficult to convince them otherwise.

I’m fascinated by dogs but didn’t grow up around them so I have _a lot_ to learn and this all makes perfect sense given they’re herding dogs, but also adds to that in ways that help to expand my understanding. Cheers from the Blue Mountains, west of Sydney, where I hope to one day have a doggo friend of my own (although possibly not a herding breed - best not to have a high-energy dog smarter than oneself, I feel) 🐕 🥰

That wiggle butt brings back wonderful memories of my Australian Sheppard. He weighed 50 pounds and his uncle was really large at 75 pounds.
