    I am from Thailand, which was part of the ancient Indosphere, I can see how my ancestors tried to best capture this sacred expression into our classical dance. Although time has given rise to new styles, but I feel that through dance our ancient cultures still preserve this sacred bond that only the gods could have bestowed on mankind.

      @denseone Před 2 lety +2

      @@nutanbyakod2781 Yes. Thank you. I believe the meaning in for "Kirti" may have evolved for Thai usage, here meaning "honor", so kirti-putra ... "Son of Honor". Originally, the Thai alphabet allowed for it to trace the name/pronunciation back to its sanskrit roots, but during WWII the alphabet was "modernized" to accommodate the typewriter and one of the markers was omitted changing the pronunciation in Thai from "putra" to "butr".

      It is a rendition which depicts Lord Krishna (as a young boy) playing with other children, losing the ball in a lake which is the house of a poisonous serpent. He then goes on to tame the serpent and ends with dancing on it's head which the serpent gracefully accepts after recognizing the divinity of Krishna.

      Lemme help you,
      Lord Krishna is said to be the most handsome, pretty and gorgeous of them all....
      it is said that once lord Krishna was playing ball with his friends, and their ball fell in a lake, where there was a seven headed poisonous snake, so everyone urged Krishna to get the ball... And krishna fought with the snake, and krishna danced on the snake's head.... This dance depicts that fight, where in the poet has written it in such a way that the battle is going on in front of him, and he's praising the beauty lord Krishna... The grace, the moves, the way krishna dances, also u can hear the snake's hissing in the song it tops everything in the dance...
      I wish I could attach some pictures so that u would get an idea... None the less you can google "kaliya mardana" u will get images n I would urge u to watch this video after that... U will enjoy it even more

See en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaliya for more details. Incident involves a snake called Kaliya that poisons the river Yamuna and how Sri Krishna vanquishes the serpant by dancing on its head. Characters in the dance would involve the snake, the river, and Lord Sri Krishna.

    This is the best Bharatnatyam dance I have seen in my entire life. I regretted blinking. Ma'am you can try choreographing this on Aruna Sairam Ji's Darbar rendition... Only that can do justice to the way you danced here.

      @@arunchalam6089 I like this lady's voice a lot. But when it comes to Kalinga Narthana Tillana, no rendition supercedes what Aruna Sairam, Jayanthi Kumaresh and the rest of the team presented in Darbar.

    Ati ati ati SUNDER. I have seen multiple classical performances. But YOU ARE OUTSTANDING. On the contrary, you performed it on a coarse ground bare foot and not a smooth stage surface, I can imagine how difficult and painful it would have been. The singer too was outstanding. Great performance!

The dancing on the ground looks much more harder, yet you did it so gracefully like it was a piece of cake! Loved this and this really gave me a boost in determination and added more to my love of dance..Thank you!❤️
