  • Islamabad to kumrat valley | #kumratvalley road condition
Kumrat valley is situated at 7800 ft altitude above sea level in #Hindukush_mountain_range of Pakistan. There are two routes from Islamabad to Kumrat valley:
    1. From Islamabad to Kalam to Kumrat via Badgio pass.
    2. From Islamabad to #Upper_dir to Kumrat.
Both the routes are beautiful and scenic. Kalam side is more beautiful however it was not possible for my car to go via Badgoi pass that's why we adopted the other route from upper dir side.
Total distance from Islamabad is 395 km and it took 12 hrs to reach Kumrat valley from Islamabad while having short stays on the way five times. We got the petrol tank re-filled from Kaatlang service area and there was no need to refuel it again. That means, in a 50L tank, we managed to travel from Kaatlang to Thal and Thal to Kaatlang on 1800 cc car.
The beautiful scenes start where the Upper dir starts from. Clean water of Panjkura river and the clean road can be observed after passing through Wari check post. Well before upper dir, we turned right towards Thal and Kumrat.
There is a metal road through out the journey up to Paatraak (25 km before Thal). Paatraak to Thal road is under construction but any type of vehicle can reach up to Thal quite easily.
