Thanks Smallant for letting me do this to his challenge! It was really fun being able to finally show some of what's to come with Online Super Mario Odyssey. Things are still a little rough but it was still incredibly fun being able to play in the same world as another player!

To be fair, multiplayer for skyrim exists, its just extremely janky because of how bethesda coded the world state changes.

In Skyrim's defense, Mario Odyssey already had a sort of online game that people could play while the closest thing Skyrim gets to being online is the Bethesda Club thing. That and the coding is years apart from each other.

this man Crafty, just some random guy on the internet, made MULTIPLAYER, in a game NOT exactly MEANT to HAVE it, a game that isn't just some easy CODE either.
there are always games we wish could have multiplayer, and this, shows that its possible, along with a few other games that gained it but "wasn't made to have it." that sure, MAYBE its more DIFFICULT, but not impossible.

If that SMO multiplayer eventually works, Team-based SMO bingo sounds rather interesting and probably opens up the ability to challenge other twitch streamers with a more proper team setting that doesn't require all 3 to clear the same world at individual paces. Starting to feel like Mario N64 levels of team vs pro is possible.

I think its was possible in Odyssey because they have a multiplayer function already (Luigi Balloon), so he had some kind of base to work with
in comparison, BotW has nothing (far as I know anyways) so the mod would be much harder to make
I just re-watched this video and saw your comment. PointCrow and the devs he hired managed to implement multiplayer in BOTW and will release it before BTOW2 is released
