I love that it has a warmer tone to the low setting. I’m a big fan of kerosene lanterns and it’s nice to have a safer option for indoors during power outages that isn’t harsh like most LEDs

I recently got a goal zero lantern and this Olight lantern beats GZ on the battery life, looks, charging options and lighting options. Kids like to have the light on at night especially if they are a little scared.

I have many solar batteries so the USB output is already appreciated.

When it comes to the light market sorry but alot of the usa manufacturers have failed to do one thing that's critical innovate and update Maglite bulky, uses plastic lenses that get scratched easily, no mode memory, shitty run times, and declining quality control i've had 3 mini mag led lights have stopped working outright or had intermittent shut offs with fresh batteries. Surefire overpriced overhyped proprietary garbage that has poor run times no mode memory and just because the military uses them doesn't mean its well made it means they contract out so it can be sold cheaper. Streamlight solid budget lights that lack modern features and proprietary features on some lights make them less enticing only thing keeping them in the game in my book is their affordable and reliable thats it. Pelican Too many cases of their polymer lights cracking and honestly didn't even knew they made lights mostly know them for their cases. Princeton tec little to no features and as for other options usa made not many are very competitive then again I've mostly ditched olight for fenix lights now cause i've yet to have a fenix light die on me. I've had several issues with my olights my old s10r died randomly, S30r parasitic draw on the battery cause a light is worthless if it drains itself, another olight developed tailswitch issues 3 months into owning it.

@@Horde334 you've made some valid points regarding the flashlight/lantern market. It sounds as though you have quite a bit of experience and knowledge about the quality or lack thereof of the made in U.S.A. lights that are available. I own a Streamlight flashlight and a Surefire flashlight and I've had Maglite products over the years. I like them pretty well but again, you've pointed out some of the problems with those companies. I'll look into the Fenix brand to see what they've got. Thanks for the insights.

OLIGHT needs to add the "LED Jog dial" found on their Warrior 3s/Seeker 3 Pro flashlights....on their lanterns. They already have this proprietary TECH....why wouldn't thy put it on their O-Lanterns???? already??
People who would be thinking of buying one or more...or already have a few...are likely "flashlight enthusiasts" to some degree. Should have more than enough working flashlights at all times...and because of that...realiticaly it's hard for everyone to remember to keep so many lights charged....
Also...OLIHGT needs to also make lanterns that can be run on standard AA batteries "just in-case"...on that extremely likely chance all our flashlgihts have lost their charges or are about to. Odd OLGHT hasn't made these changes or additions yet...

I love Olight products, but I refuse to pay $79.99 sale price for a light when I can get that same type Coleman Lantern for $34 on Amazon Prime. I just purchased (2) sets of EZORKAS Camp Lanterns for $18.99 per set with free delivery from Amazon. These lights are rechargeable and will also run on 3 AAA batteries as backup. The Olight Lantern is 300 lumins vs 350 lunims for the Ezorkas which means nothing to me. The most important piece is quality, price, and it has battery backup.

    • @fortwillie

  • @BLASTIC0

I have resisted the Olight stuff for a while because of the prices, going with cheaper competitors.
But $75 for this seemed like a steal… AND it came with a free Obulb orb looking thing, they are like $40. So I pulled the trigger. This thing is awesome.
Most important is the color temperature. I do not understand why so many lights are this bright blue 5k-6k+… umm guys, we use lights…. Get this…. At niiight. The white/blue is great to have, but my main concern is that it has a low temp, warm light, so as not to keep you up at night.

you need a usb c charger. Like the 20w new apple iphone charger. Costs 15 bucks or so. you can also use a usb c port on your computer or an older usb port with an usb a to c cable. charging speed would be however slower. I recommend getting the apple 20w power brick.
