It's been a long wait since the original Who Did It, but I'm so happy to finally see an example of a health inspector going above and beyond his job and getting the recognition he so rightfully deserves. He truly did do a great job.
His dedication to the job ensured that not a single customer could leave a bad review that day, he is the true hero every restaurant needs I'd like to think
I like to imagine there is an alternate universe where he doesent dedicate himself to the job that much. It would be an absolute nightmare to live in

@@faxjam we need the next ep
2:29, This joke caught me SO off guard! I thought it was going for the obvious joke of "Oh it looks like blood on the page, but the detective is gonna say it's ketchup or something". Well played fax, well played.
I think that was the first joke I wrote down for this cartoon way back when I was bullet pointing gags and story beats. Thanks and glad you liked that one!
@@faxjam It's the joke I was hoping for honestly. I knew you weren't going to just say blood, and ketchup is too obvious as well, so I cheered when the punchline came in and was the subversion I wanted!
Wanted to comment this as well :0
(Goddamnit, you have 69 likes)
literately one of my favorite jokes in the whole vid lmao
I immediately dropped my old ailing grandmother from my arms to watch this.
I dropped my new born grandmother from my arms to see this.
Pick her up so she can see the screen, good bonding moment with an elder
I came out of my grandmother’s womb to watch this
I love how the detective seems to be insanely rambling about nothing but is actually figuring everything out. He could see that the note was written in cursive, a writing style few people in the building could even read, however, an official like the health inspector would instinctively write in this professional manner, the detective noticed that the note was also written with a two pronged object, further relating to the health inspector with his missing chip fork, he also notes that the chips "Needed more salt." This possibly relates to the chippie's reputation of "Leaving all customers satisfied" and since the detective was not satisfied by the chips, this means that an employee of the chippie wasn't responsible for the preparation, this is somewhat proven by the giant crab in the kitchen. He finally makes a decision to investigate the nearby Crab cabin for potential witnesses and pulls an artist's interpretation of the suspect out from the forensic lady's vacuum, filling the area with dust and, whether intentional or not, caused the mascot to sneeze revealing its hiding location.
Crikey!
The man's a genius!
bloody hell!
But who did the murder?!
...crabs can sneeze?
Mate this is Adult Swim worthy, everything about this is so professional and genuinely funny and charming all the way through. You should genuinely consider pitching Who Did It because this deserves the spotlight.
thanks so much! really glad you think so, I was thinking of pitching it eventually since I have a bunch of ideas for it. I might wrap up this story with the second part and then put the two parts together to make a full pilot of sorts. whatever happens I'll keep you all in the loop!
@@faxjam fucking sick!! I feel like your chances are really high dude, fingers crossed!!
@@faxjam Dude fuck yes, you gotta do it. This and smiling friends together on Adult Swim would make it nigh unstoppable.
10 minutes of quality animation, voice acting, music and beatiful transitions? Amazing job mate!
Means a lot, cheers! Was not meant to be 10 mins to begin with so i don't know how that happened haha
469 👍
I think there his friends
I just love the fact that the Health Inspector had enough time to add in those dotted hearts.
Gosh this is fantastic, the atmosphere, the DRAMA and the Detective. Now I must know.... WHO DID IT??!
Thanks so much Taplaos! and I'm so glad someone noticed the hearts on the note haha, the health inspector was acting like a real cutie to the end
As he did in the first one. Showing that he isn’t just a coldblooded emotionally devoid detective
7:18 love that he looks like he's gonna insult him with that deadpan face, but let out a genuine "Thanks, I really needed to hear that today" looool
This channel is critically under viewed and rated. It’s been so long since I was actually so entranced by a cartoon’s visual style and humor. Keep it up!
thankyou! that means a lot. I'm just going to keep doing my thing and see where it goes, fingers crossed more eyes continue to find these toons
THE WAIT WAS WORTH IT OML THIS WAS SO GOOD! But on a serious note I love your animations Fax and hope to see you gain more popularity as time goes on.
Thanks so much!! Really glad the wait was worth it, was only meant to take 6 weeks initially yet here we are almost in September lol
By the way, do you know when you're going to make a new Jojo vid? Loved the video by the way
the moment I finished watching I said out loud "but who did it"
I absolutely love the way the funny red man said "call for backup you little bastard" with that serious expression on his face. (8:06)
You had no right making the shot at 5:45 so terrifyingly detailed but you did anyway. Props.
What about 4:40
It's a disgustingly great shot that Jo Yee Leong takes the credit for, you can find her work here if your interested! instagram.com/joyee.leong/
Always loved these quality animations, keep up the work!
Cheers! more on the way and mostly shorter until I can wrangle some people for another bigger project
4:47 Him eating his cigarette mid sentence is the kind of thing you think of while making fun of some serious show youre watching with a friend. Caught me off guard too. So fucking funny
7:05 transitions like these are honestly amazing. I think you might have like the best transitions in like the whole animation industry. Very good video and I enjoyed it.
thankyou, that means a lot! the transitions started as me trying to find an alternative to a cut but now I can't stop adding them lol
The jojos transitions like when jotaro falls down the stairs are some of the smartest things I’ve ever seen done
@@BigBrainGamer58 I swear I’ve seen bots that have the same profile as you
They had been looking at this the wrong way. They should just have asked people "did you do it?" and arrest the first person who said yes.
The sequel we all need and got!
I thought long form animation was dead on youtube! Very very happy with this episode and looking forward to more!
Will wrangle a bigger team for the next so it's more doable! And yeah its a shame the site doesn't suit animators doing longer stuff as much as it used to,
That run cycle at 5:50 is amazing and also you put a Peter Griffin face on one of the csi chaps too...weldone
yesss, someone spotted the griffin
@@faxjam I am glad that you are glad someone spotted it.
"Hey Louis I am CSI man. Negh Neh neh neh!"
who knew a comedy series about a detective could also keep me on the edge of my seat? absolutely looking forwards to part two with baited *wink* breath
So gooooooood, can't wait for the big reveal in part 2!
But the real mystery is: how in all my life have I never seen or heard of a chipfork before???
Hilarious, charming and, most importantly, educational.
Excellent work mate
haha thanks so much! really appreciate it. someone else brought up the chipfork thing and I'm wondering if it's specific to britain. They are crappy lil wooden forks you get on the counter in fish and chip restaurants, a great chip eating experience
Tbh this could work as an adult swim show
TEN WHOLE MINUTES OF FAXJAM
Eagerly anticipating the 5 second sequel revealing the killer to be none other than the honest bartender from the first Who Did It.
Wait a minute, that red ink…I’m FULL of it! Did I do it?!?
I would love to see this as a fully funded tv show
JEEZUS CHISTR FAXJAM YOU CANNOT JUST DROP THAT HAND ANIMATION ON US LIKE THAT
So happy to see the ol’ detective with his crew back on screen! With wonderful new characters to boot too. Amazing work as always man, it was lovely seeing it all come together as well while working with you to get the detailed scenes out! :))
Was great working with you Jo, you really brought those close up shots to life and helped make those scenes special. look forward to having you on for the next part!!
faxjam what do the artists that help you do on this? I just wanna know how it works
Oh come oon what a cliffhanger! It's stupid how much I actually got invested in this.
Mate!! You're setting the standard & then raising the bar on CZcams Animations! The writing, voice acting, colour palette, & (of course) animation quality is truly... *Chef's Kiss*
Congratulations on the cartoon! Very inspiring
Ahh Cheers! really glad you think so and hopefully I can deliver a satisfying conclusion to this mystery. will keep you all updated on the next part
I love this! And I especially I love the little detail that the detective uses a tape recorder to record himself while the crime scene cleaner uses her cell phone instead. It really adds to the idea that the detective is so much older: almost like a relic of the past.
thankyou!! glad you enjoyed the small detail, I mirrored the shot from the first who did it when he is bending down to look at the breadcrumbs for that bit where she gets her phone out
@@faxjam I always love your animations! Very detailed 👍👍
truly an epic Fax Jam masterpiece
This man is an absolute legend! The Quality of the animations is so good compared to other big animation studios that are way more popular.
8:15
I like to imagine that's another detective monologuing about another murder in the window of the crab cabin.
9 months later and I'm still waiting for that sequel...
"Yes, yes indeed, but one more thing, why did **YOU** have the murder weapon" said himself towards the ground...
the pinnacle of human genious...
I cant believe ive known about this channel and haven't seen this, it was pure gold
Props to the killer for being able to stab people with wooden chip forks, the bluntest thing known to man
takes some skill indeed, I can barely stab chips with them
And for remaining calm when one of the examiners looked up her costume. At first I thought the restaurant owner just had a much closer relationship to his mascot then one would expect! Not sure why she thought lacy things would be good for killing though.
The pacing, writing, gags, and overall visual on this are I N S A N E - you really went and took one of your most iconic toons and turned it into a real 10 min long show. This is television ready.
Fr i commend you on this faxjam. Killer work man, i loved this
You should have your own TV show
Good to see you back, Fax. Good to see you back.
Animations were smooth as Silk. Or maybe even Butter? Buttering up the Pan. For some old-school Pancakes with Jam. Fax the Jam. FaxJam.
The Man's still got it.
Glad i didn't miss this.
I can’t put into words how intense it was without a new fax jam video.
Damn who knew a cartoon about chips would be masterpiece
Comment made 1 minute after the video was posted *2 minutes* ago. Come on, man.
Listen a person has his dedications
@@Hxnry5560 Fine, fine, I will let you have this one.
I don't know, I'm beginning to think there might be a red herring in the plot somewhere
well after watching that you could say, "I'm hooked."
Everybody asks “who did it?” But nobody asks “Why did they”
Gah dayum, was expecting this to be the full animation, I actually got really hooked lol
Finally, a long-awaited sequel.
I'm sorry I missed this. I will give myself 50 lashings. Also impressive completing a huge project like this.
yes, part 2 of "Who Did It?"
another impostor happened in a restaurant
I half expected the “yep” and lockup of who did it in the first 30 seconds and the rest is unrelated
Stellar animation, lad. Can't wait for part 2.
As always, those scene transitions are golden.
This is far and above your best work so far! All the little jokes in every shot were brilliant, and the detective eating his cigarette again had me wheezing. The animation, voice acting, and all the little faces everyone made were just *perfect.* Your original stuff is fantastic, and I can’t wait until the next part!
Edit: I just noticed that at 8:12 the detective sees his younger self in his reflection in the window. Made me a little sad tbh
thanks so much!! really glad you liked this one since a lot of work went in. I like that people enjoyed the ciggie chomp, just snuck that moment in there quickly so I'm glad it was noticed. Will begin next part end of the year with a slightly bigger team so It doesnt forever to make lol
I had no idea we were getting more of this, but I'm all for it! More beautifully silly animation with witty writing and quality voice acting! Yes!
It's always a good day when our good old british boy uploads
Love his original storys, hilarious and original
Perfect.
To say this is top tier would be an understatement, I am so taken aback by the excellent colour choices, and creative transitions used from shot to shot. You my friend,, have an amazing talent, I I wish you only the best going forward. I am simply floored, have a lovely day.
thankyou! really appreciate that, the colours absolutely did my head in so I'm glad you liked them too. hopefully I can wrap up the story in a satisfying way
The writing, The pacing, The animation, The humor it all blends together so well.
Every character has their own personalities and unique quirks. Like the detective making overly complicated notes into his recorder. The rookie being overly obsessive about contaminating the evidence. And the detective is just a fun character all around feels like soos from gravity falls.
The pacing is amazingly handled and I wasnt bored the entire way through and was wondering what was going to happen next.
The animation is incredibly well done just all around. And has good moments of humor like when you did a detailed look of their face. Their movements capture the art of animation so well as animation is doing things that cameras cant like peoples neck extending and things like that.
And just the little details that really make this amazing. Like how we cant read the note until the rookie reads it. The characters doing their own things in the background.
(also that scene in the freezer was so well animated bravo)
I really appreciate your thoughts on the cartoon and I'm glad you enjoyed all those different elements. Took ages to write and animate so it means a lot! Hopefully in the next part I can develop these characters even more whilst still delivering the funnies. Will keep you all updated, the supportive feedback like this is getting me hyped to continue this when I get the chance!
I just realized the red man (is his name pork chop?) has a suspicious chin in a couple scenes. 7:33 is this foreshadowing something in the future
I loved every single second of it, excellent job as always!
Very good, loved when the old detective crushed porkchops hand and only says, thanks I really needed that 👍
I love how invested I was when they read the note, despite them conspicuously not reading the note for several minutes.
There were so many twists and turns, that I was left absolutely dumbfounded
That was legitimately fun
Amazing!!! Can't wait for part 2!!
This series is a beautiful thing and I love it. I love how you use the camera to follow a smooth animation play out.
This was hilarious and scary at times! Great work!
Loved every minute of this!
This is amazing. Well worth the wait!
Amazing work. The whole sequence with the forensic piecing together what happened was brilliant, and of course the muscle armed seagull was a stroke of genius.
I love your style, its so good!!
Glorious! A new faxjam classic!
Your ability to transition between each scene is incredibly creative. Love your work
This was genuinely incredible, props to you. Keep making amazing stuff dude!
This is incredible! You really outdid yourself with this one, I love your work!
I'm so glad this is being revisited. I love the first video, and having the antics play out in an even longer format is amazing.
This is so good, i love all of this, i love your style
Cool, the new upload from faxjam. Love your animation style!
Man this was great. Can’t wait to see what happens next
Man, I love your animations. Theres just something about the colors, characters, voice acting, and all of it, that just give your animations a truly unique charm.
Keep up the awesome videos!
"Who Did It" was always my favorite video of yours! It's hard to describe how excited I am that you're creating a sequel!
I love your content and just like everything else you make this is a masterpiece.
I can really see a lot of work and passion has gone into this, and its extremely impressive. Im glad when an animator is able to work on a piece of art as great as this one
This turned out so effin cool!!! Awesome work as always!!! I'm sooo dying to see the next part :D
This is so good, I wish there was more. Subscribed.
This is a banger, and I'm hoping that you get much more attention for your amazing humor!
Man, you've really outdone yourself again. More power to ya! Can't wait for the next one.
It really made my day to see this, thank you
Was literally thinking about you yesterday this amazing
Wow this was amazingly well done! can't wait for the next installment
2:32 how do you manage to make joke that caught people off guard
This is glorious
7:20 *THANKS I REALLY NEEDED TO HEAR THAT TODAY*
Your originals are insane. Just found you the other day but my god, from the flow to the transitions to the amount of personality every character has is insane. Can’t wait to see the conclusion to this.
Rookie looks both silly and cute, hard combo to pull off
I keep watching this video and I just wanted to say I’ve shared it with my friends. They thought it was a little mini series can’t wait for more episodes to this wonderful series :)
This made my day. The guy frantically running in the background glorious.
The type of stuff Netflix should be supporting
