Yes! I love project pans and using up my makeup! Main tip I would give is that panning fatigue is real so if you ever feel sick of using the same products over and over again, just give it a short break to try other things. Also, items take wayyy longer than you'd expect to finish/see progress so don't get discouraged by that. Just focus on enjoying your favorites before they go bad!

to track products in tubes like the bb cream you can put it in warm water and let it settle to the bottom and then mark the line it settles at with a sharpie. you can also weigh them to try use! i love watching kyla fish - she has lots of great videos
I like to keep track of every day I use a product. I keep note in my bullet journal. You can use a marker or a ruler/measuring tape to mark your progress. Keeping the items in an easy to see and reach area is a good reminder to use them as often as you can. Also it takes forever to hit pan on blush!
My main piece of advice is don’t force yourself to use it up if you don’t like the product! I have “hate panned” a few products and it almost ruins the fun of putting on makeup. Also yes please to empties videos when you can! I have a cute Kate Space box I put my empty products in then update my insta with pictures of everything every one to two months!

If possible, I always try to buy the mini/travel-size! If I loooove the product: good, I can repurchase (even the bigger size)or change the color; if not, I will finish it faster and at least I won't have wasted too much money 😉
Good luck with this project! 😁 I've tried panning in the past and what it taught me was how quickly the expiration date rolls around versus how long it takes to make good use of a cream product 😭 I am too lenient and hold on for 3 or 4 years sometimes until the smell changes, even when the product says 6 months, but even then I can't keep up with more than tiny number of cream/liquid products at a time. I imagine it must be even harder keeping up with PR coming in!
tip: don’t hate pan cause you might over use your makeup and it won’t look good, you might hate it even more, life is too short to hate pan, but starting this project will give you more awareness like you said

I miss empties videos 🥺 I love hearing someone’s thoughts on a product they’ve used up. Bring back all the old wholesome beauty yt content. It was the best!
Tip for the BB Cream: when you think you’ve run out of it, cut off the sealed up side to scoop out the rest of the product. Then wash it out to recycle :)

Tbh I started my project pan because a) my collection was out of control and I wanted to be more selective and less wasteful, and b) to punish myself for buying products I didn’t like 😂 but for real, I have learned how to make a lot of products work because I’ve been using them often & consistently!

For the lipsticks, you could try blotting them with toilet paper, and then powdering them so they don't smudge. And also kinda blot the lipsticks so it isn't too heavy under the mask? Or you could use them as a cream blush and go over them with the elf blush

honestly I’d love to do something like this, but at the moment I only really wear makeup for special events and there haven’t been any due to the pandemic so I wear makeup even less now😔 hopefully things get better and good luck with your project pan!!💗
It is amazing that you are starting a project pan. You should mark your progress though. Month to month it will not look like much but from the start to the end you will see a lot of progress.
Sarah! Don’t force yourself to use things you already know you don’t like. When you finish things you actually enjoy, it enforces good shopping habits because you want to be things you like as much as the things you used up.

I'm guilty of not hitting pan on a lot of my makeup products. I think I've only hit pan twice on Bobbi Brown correctors (they're tiny and don't contain that much product) and a Too Cool For School Contour Powder. I'm on a makeup-no-buy (with the exception of mascara) until I finish my powder and cream products 😊
I've been trying to pan my eyeshadows since it's the only thing I can put on my face bcoz of masks 🥺 there's a project called "pan those eyeshadows" and I love watching those videos, it's so addictive lol, could u pls consider doing it ,,,,,,😳
