- This is the complete January 17, 1973 recording originally made on a 60 minute cassette, plus three extra tracks. Various recorded chatter relates to volume settings on the recorder and when to turn the tape. I was taking some Super 8 footage which I have yet to match up with the sound. Hopefully this year.
Recorded close to front with PA to the side. Thus Ozzy’s vocals are not great. In this concert, ‘Changes’ was substituted by the first ever known recording of ‘Killing Yourself to Live‘, after an impatient crowd complained at the time it took to get Tony’s piano organ set up the night before. The final two tracks were added because they went unrecorded on the night of this recording.
Setlist:
0:00 Intro
0:28 Tomorrow’s Dream

16:14 War Pigs (16.14)
26:01 Killing Yourself to Live (26.01)
31:47 Iron Man (31.47)
39:44 Cornucopia (39.44)
44:10 Wicked World (44.10)

1:21:02 Paranoid (recorded Kooyong, Melbourne 13 Jan 1973) - Zábava
Awesome upload! 🤩This was the second show. I was at the first on the 16th January. Lucked early tickets. Went to the city booking office but "postal only" so I lied and said I had come all the way by train from Woop Woop and the elderly fella grabbed an envelope and slipped in a cuppla tickets! 👍
What a legend. Forever grateful. So up front a few rows back. What a blast seeing these guys for the first time. ❤
wow i knew the full concert would be released and wow i cant wait to see the tape recording
1st 4 albums r my fav.after that ,kinda, lost touch .was into genesis yes tull who zep (saw 7x).but luv my 1 thru vol4 sabbath.
PURE GOLD !!!!
Paranoid starts at 1:12:38 and then there is children of the grave again and then there is paranoid again, the last two songs are there twice
I was there and the band sounded 1000% better than what this recording suggests.
Couldn't agree more. Posted for historic interest reasons only. More than happy to remove if better recording emerges.
Volume issue saturated the sound (recorder required manual setting - venue dark so couldn't check).
This is absolutely fantastic! Thank you very much! Any chance that you would send me the original wav files via Wetransfer, Google Drive, Dropbox, Mega.nz or whatever way you prefer, so I can share them on free lossless trading sites? I am Linda Behrentzen on Facebook, or if you aren't on Facebook we'll find another way to connect. Many thanks again.
Oh, and of course it would be awesome if you could send me the complete Melbourne 13 Jan 1973 and Sydney 16 January 1973 recordings as well. Are these all your master tapes?
The recordings on 13 & 16 Jan 73 are not mine. These 2 concerts are available in full on CZcams.
@@MrDangermouse10 Thanks for the info. So this 17 Jan upload is from your master tape?
@@lindab.8386 No, that is lost. Just a CD I made. I respect artist rights so previously not shared.

Any updates on the 8mm film? @MrDangermouse10
I had forgotten about it, sorry. Good of Geezer and well worth my effort to locate. Just a hassle to copy.
