@@Dispatern I live on the West Coast now for the last 10 years. Wa State. And I love it. CA is awesome too. I did live in other States as well. They are lovely, some more so than others. Over all most people here are extremely hard working and very friendly. They def help a neighbour out if in need. I hear all the prejudice remarks and preconceived notions other countries have of the US and it breaks my heart, because again. Most people here work incredibly hard and are super nice and not the stereotyp you usually get. Kind of like everywhere. The loudest people get heard the most, doesn't mean that they are the majority. If you ask me which States I like best, I have to say CA and Wa State. CA has EVERYTHING. Ocean, mountains, the redwood forests. (You HAVE to see those trees in person. No photo will do them justice)! Wa State has mountains oceans and lots of regular forests. I have lived in a few other Stats. Some of them were beautiful landscape wise, but not so much government wise lol. But people are getting smarter and starting to push back and holding them accountableand cutting down on voter suppression and gerrymandering. Over all I love it here. Specially since WA State looks a lot like Bavaria, where I grew up. Mountains and forests. And I even got an ocean to go with it. Brilliant! My son in law and my daughter are building a small holistic, sustainable farm and loads of people are really into this and supporting small local rather than the big corporations, alas, there are food deserts where you have no choice but shop in those places. But again, there are movements to change this. Just a bit slow going, because the big corporstions have lots of money to try and prevent it. All in all I am happy here. ❤️
The not so good? My hsuband is Hispanic (of Mexican descent) so yeah we have to deal with our share of racism, and that is no fun for sure. We lost out on appartments to rent, on promotions and stuff like that. And the gun issue also makes me unhappy. But again. More people than not want this fixed. But like any government anywhere, it works slowly and honestly there is too much money for a select few in it for them to go quietly into the night. It will take courage. We have a couple people really working for change, but a lot of the old greedy guard is standing in the way. Once they are voted out, or retire it should start to get easier. And not every State has the same problema with it WA State and CA def have stricter gun laws and not as much happening as let's say Texas for example. But even in TX people are starting to get fed up and are staring to organise and push back. 🙃

I have lived in a few other Stats. Some of them were beautiful landscape wise, but not so much government wise lol. But people are getting smarter and starting to push back and holding them accountableand cutting down on voter suppression and gerrymandering. Over all I love it here. Specially since WA State looks a lot like Bavaria, where I grew up. Mountains and forests. And I even got an ocean to go with it. Brilliant! My son in law and my daughter are building a small holistic, sustainable farm and loads of people are really into this and supporting small local rather than the big corporations, alas, there are food deserts where you have no choice but shop in those places. But again, there are movements to change this. Just a bit slow going, because the big corporstions have lots of money to try and prevent it. All in all I am happy here. ❤️
The not so good? My hsuband is Hispanic (of Mexican descent) so yeah we have to deal with our share of racism, and that is no fun for sure. We lost out on appartments to rent, on promotions and stuff like that. And the gun issue also makes me unhappy. But again. More people than not want this fixed. But like any government anywhere, it works slowly and honestly there is too much money for a select few in it for them to go quietly into the night. It will take courage. We have a couple people really working for change, but a lot of the old greedy guard is standing in the way. Once they are voted out, or retire it should start to get easier. And not every State has the same problema with it WA State and CA def have stricter gun laws and not as much happening as let's say Texas for example. But even in TX people are starting to get fed up and are staring to organise and push back. 🙃
