  • We had Jesse Fink, author of “Bon: The Last Highway,” on Rat Salad Review. Jesse was a great guest, and I salute his passion for uncovering the possibilities of the events that led to the passing of the late, great, often imitated, never duplicated Bon Scott by the people around him who were there. This book as an incredible expose bringing to light many questions:
Who wrote the lyrics for Back in Black (the album)?
Why are members in the camp so silent on what they’ve said in the past in magazines?
What was Bon really like by music industry outsiders who knew and loved him?
Was “You Shook Me All Night Long” about an American woman Bon knew (“Knockin’ me out with those American thighs”) with a horse named Doubletime (“Workin’ Doubletime on the seduction line”)?
Why does the Scott family collect royalties for Back In Black if the writing is credited to Malcolm and Angus Young and Brian Johnson?
Why was Back in Black included on the Bonfire boxed set if Bon wasn’t involved as Brian and Angus state today?
One question I had to ask (being a music geek) was whatever happened to Mark Evans (original bassist up until the recording for “Let There Be Rock”), and was there any input from him. Jesse fills us in on the answer to that question.

I’m not here to pick fights with fans, and you can hate on it whatever you want. But truth is truth, and everything else is BS. If you have a story, then stick with it and stop shifting your narrative to fit your current agenda. Just saying.

In none of these interviews not 1 person is actually disagreeing with Jesse on anything. That is remarkable. Does he pick shows where he knows no one will utter a critical word or are they scared to offend him and have him rage-quit the interview?

Watch the episode and see for yourself. We don’t provide a platform for people we may disagree with to just rage-quit. We give the subject a platform to speak their piece, and if we have questions, we ask in a respectful way. If our guests act like a-holes, we’ll give them a reason to rage-quit.

@@Lou_Mavs so how come you didn't ask any questions? All you (Lou) say is "wow", I don't think that's asking questions. Of course you're scared to offend, otherwise you'd have asked many more questions. Were you even prepared for the interview or was it meant to be just a "three fans listen to Jesse" show?

@@chriss2452 the interview was booked for Rat Salad Review, which is a podcast I am part of. It’s not my personal platform. Wayne booked the interview, as he is the proprietor of the show. I was asked to be a part of the show, but I have no fight in the AC/DC game. Whether I believe in the Youngs’ story or Jesse’s is irrelevant. It’s not my job to sway you one way or another because we’re not MSM-type partisan hacks. We asked questions about his book; that’s all. Jesse was respectful to us, and we reciprocated.
If you enjoyed the show, I’m happy. If you don’t, I really don’t care. Sounds to me like you wanted a Geraldo-type expose, but that’s not our job. An author was booked, we read his book, we asked questions, we gave him a chance to speak, and the episode is a conversation, not an interrogation, which is what it sounds like you wanted. Sorry if that disappointed you, but hey - you watched it, so thanks for the view. 😁

Shame it went down that way. No reason for it.

Wait a minute. "No reason"? If you think someone has disrespected your dead mate in a published book is that "no reason"? You gotta be fking kidding. What I find very peculiar about Jesse is that even when he gets it from someone fired from AC/DC in 1977, a guy that never got the super-stardom of the band, he still chooses to ignore the criticism. He never looks at himself and asks "hmm, what did I do?". No! He simply writes everyone else off as retards. Now I do respect dedication and trust in yourself, but if there's one ex-member with a lot of time spent with Bon whom could be seen as unbiased and worthy a listen it would be Mark and *still* Jesse thought "fuck you, pal" 4:21 The man has an ego the size of a fking zeppelin.

Fink appears to befriend everyone the Youngs have discarded. They didn't like Silver Smith, not hard to see why. Every second word is f***, worse than any rock star I've heard. He's got a daughter. Show some respect Fink.
