What is it like to attend the Scale RC Glider Rally Easter 2023 | Jerilderie?
For those interested to know what the Jerilderie Scale RC Glider Rally is all about, I have made this video to provide a summary of how the field is setup, what you will see, how the gliders are tugged into the sky, and provide examples of how pilots are flying their models from launch through to landing. These videos where taken over three of the four days the event ran, Friday to Sunday, with highly variable weather, a thunderstorm with heavy downpour, and consistent strong average winds of 20kph to 30khp, gusting easily up to 50kph over the three days. Pilots braved the conditions and performed some skillful flying with only a couple casualties resulting.

The annual RC Scale Glider Rally was held at the Jerilderie Racecourse over Easter 2023 under the auspices of LSF Australia. This is one of the largest RC scale glider events on the Australian calendar so if you have any interest in RC scale gliding, Jerilderie is the place to be around the Easter long weekend.
Thank you to my friend Calvin for the invite to attend, it was a memorable event. Being a new VARMS member, it was a nice way to meet some of the members who also love scale soaring and thermal flight.
