Is Passage Key the best Sandbar on the West Coast of Florida?

Today we went boating over on Passage Key. Passage Key is located between the North end of Anna Maria Island and the South end of Egmont Key at coordinates 27.5556° N, 82.7431° W. If you decide to go boating and relaxing at this sandbar, do your research. Passage Key is known for a couple things and both are "natural". First, this small island is a bird sanctuary and the beach is closed for the protection of the nesting birds. Second, and probably most important to know, especially if you are boating with kids, the island is known for a clothing optional dress code. That's right, Passage Key is a sandbar where many dress is what they were born with. Now, with that being said, it is far more prevalent on the west side of the island. We anchored on the east side because it was less crowded. The water is beautiful and shallow so wading in the water and walking around the area is easy going.
