    I like Phil. Used to think that he was kind of a pitbull but now I just see him as a good competitor. Sail GP is really more fun to watch with the multi-boat heats compared to America's Cup.

    This is one of the best videos I've ever seen on SailGP as it shows lots of behind the scenes activities and the friendships between members of all teams. Well done Canada!

    Didn’t know body checking was allowed in SailGP. The headline says it all. Truly impressive focus and effort producing a result even more outstanding in the circumstances than perhaps we had realized.

    It would be awesome to see Canada in the next America’s Cup cycle

    Canada's Comin'! Oh ya! Can't wait for Halifax. Was so awesome to see Colin MacRae's reaction. I can't even imagine what it's like tacking at 40 Knots. Would be great to see a full vid on that experience. Hopefully he'll post on Parlay Revival.

    Respect to Canada for appreciating that they were guests And the marine mammals home
    But massive embarrassment that Russell Coutts who is a Kiwi is so disrespectful about his home Waters

      I agree on both points. I was actually sailing in from the open sea on the Sunday just as the race was about to start and I was being accompanied by a dolphin! I was trying to discourage its companionable attitude ("Bad dog!", "Wayleggo" and other such terms of kiwi farmer endearment, minus the bad language) and had resigned myself to having to heave to in the harbour opening and not bring another day's racing to an untimely end. But evidently it had been pondering my attitude because it decided to show me its back. Talk about relieved! And what a fantastic day it turned out...

    I think it was definitely my favourite event
    It was ashamed that Russell Coates was such a deck And really tarnished cell GPs environmental reputation

    It's scary how close the AUS boat was to taking out the CAN boat. Annie saw it coming and got down low to get some cover (as much as she could), but a very scary moment. Great job by both teams (Tom turning away) to avoid some real damage.
    Plus 4 injuries for the day, and a 3rd place on top of it. The CAN team is the winner in my book!!

    How large can a "blind spot" be? How does one fail to see a Sail GP vessel dead ahead?

    • @Gottenhimfella
      @Gottenhimfella Před měsícem +2

      They saw it when it was dead ahead, but at that combined speed, it was far too late for avoidance to be possible. At that speed a savage bearaway, especially without first raking the foil forward for more lift, would result in a diagonal pitchpole which would be total carnage, because it would still involve the other boat, but raining the wing down on them from on high.

    not exactly boats. A bit like F1 and motoGP Aerofoils everywhere and not pretty just strange
