I think you made the right decision. He’s adorable! And he wont take up much room. When the move gets stressful, a few minutes cuddling your pop will help you settle and feel calmer. 🙂
S o c i a l i z e this puppy. Herding breeds tend to be one person/family dogs and tend to develop protective personalities if not properly socialized. Between now and about 4 months old, its a good idea to expose him to a lot of different sights and sounds. Seeing as the holidays are around the corner, my advice is make sure he's used to all the big inflatables 😂 let him be around loud or wonky sounds that would normally make an untrained dog uncomfortable. Also, have him realize that people approaching does not always equal attention.

I recommend crate training him and buying a training course. This will help make sure your puppy grows up right. Also I recommend hand feeding him tit will help strengthen your bond, and teach him other good skills

Some pup helpers are if they dont eat for a while add pumpkin to their food. Dont add to much but it also helps with digestion if they dont poop for a while! This really helped with my pomski pup!

Definitely second the training/obedience course idea. Maybe see if they'll let some of your kids attend too, so that everyone has practice giving the commands, and the puppy gets used to hearing them from everyone too. We've never had any herding breeds of dogs like corgis, so I don't know what kind of behavior to give a heads up about other than the pup probably trying to herd the kids at some point. And it's been years since we had dogs, but we used to try and have the puppies practice licking instead of nipping in excitement by putting butter or peanut butter (though now a lot of brands have poisonous-to-pets ingredients) on the palms of our hands, letting them lick while giving praise and withdrawing the hand when a nip happens. Lather, rinse, repeat.

My best advice, and it will seem weird, if you’re planning on taking your smaller dog, with you, to most places, don’t get a traditional carrier. I started that way, and we also have a back pack, that’s not ideal for me, either. Either get, or reuse, a baby wrap. It’s easy to use, small to pack, and allows hands free holding of your pup.
Also, if you like to take your dog, everywhere, with you, La Quinta Hotel chains are the best. There are no extra pet fees! I have a lot of health issues, and to help slow my disease progression, and give me something to look forward to, my family decided to adopt a dog. Since I am home 95% of the time, the dog goes most other places I go, except to the hospital and medical visits. If I have to travel, and stay overnight, the dog comes with. I try to find a La Quinta every where I go, but it’s not always possible. The boujiest place my dog stayed, with me, was at Disney World. She stayed back at our cabin, and she didn’t get to go to the parks. However, she was waiting for us, when we got back!

He'll let you know what name he likes! I had a corgi and he was named cooper for a week but he clearly didn't like it and wouldn't respond to it. A week later he was Hoggle and he loved the name till he passed away 14 years later!

It was my 9th birthday when I got my puppy, a Papillon/Chihuahua mix, and my first thought was to name her Chloe after the dog from "Beverly Hills Chihuahua."😂 However, the name didn't quite fit her personality, as she was quite rambunctious. So, I named her after my favorite thing: Godzilla 😅. We called her "Zil" or "Zilla" as a nickname every now and then, often throwing in "poopie" among others! Lol

Is younger accidents are going to happen and a good way to train him out of it could be buying something he gentrly pushes that makes a sound by the door this is what my dog did and even though he often used it to play we had less accidents in the house and shortly none in a week (we stopped this when he was loudly barking at the door after we took them away due to him constantly ringing them dont worry hes a very playful puppy) but of course if you think this would annoy you dont do it because it probably will
call him Jerry since he's part of the mice family now 🐭😎
