so the song was actually supposed to be called abbey rose because he travelled to london to see his lover but got dumped right when the plane landed, and he stayed near abbey road (the most famous studio ever, also an album by the beatles because of the studio) because he had nowhere to go! so he right the song calling it abbey road, but decided he didnt wanna name his favorite song on the album after one of the most famous albums of all time (abbey road by the beatles) so he changed it to alley rose because he had his first kiss with this person in an alley!

Conan said in an interview that the song was originally going to be called Abbey Road, because right after he was dumped, he realized he was in this iconic place but had nothing to do since he was alone. He decided not to do that because of the Beatles album, so he found a way to keep the rhyme by using "Alley Rose" instead, which made sense since he and his ex kissed for the first time in an alleyway, and rose is a symbol for love. Additionally, it kind of sounds like a name, which helps the listener think of a person they relate the song to.
