OSHO: Nobody Allows Anybody to Be Just Himself

  • "Nobody wants to allow you to be yourself on matters which are absolutely insignificant.
I used to have long hair in my childhood. And I used to come in and out of my father's shop, because the shop and the home were connected. The home was behind the shop and it was absolutely necessary to pass through the shop. People would ask, "Whose girl is this?" -- because my hair was so long, they could not think that a boy should be having such long hair.
My father felt very ashamed and embarrassed to say, "He is a boy."
But they said, "Then why all this hair?"

Even rape, violence and murder? Or do we only talk about some humans who are perfect as they are or do we include everyone? Even corrupt government and bankers, should we just let them be? Or are they not included as humans?

    • @princedelicious4343

M G the idea that people just rape and murder out of their nature is a huge misconception you’ve gathered. Humans left in horrible environments stewing in evil and negativity will be a product of that environment. The societies of today are built on acting inhuman towards one another so how do you expect the products of these environments to act towards each other? I promise you let someone with true loving intentions lead and within 30 years senseless actions of any nature would be few and far between. And the senseless bankers are a product of not being left to be our beautiful selves and feeling as if we need money to be worthy. 😎

@@princedelicious4343 absolutely true, if people are allowed to be what they are without judging this is good and bad, and without having parameters of success as it is in society today, then there will be no envy, jealousy etc which are the reasons for all the things like murder, dacoitry, robbery, corruption.

Abt the child. If he want to play with fire it is our responsibility to protect the child. So we can’t allow them to be themselves as they need to know some things that make it possible to be alive for a long life. Yet the hair has no nexus with the life of child. Yet it can be understood as an example to survive a child in society without bullying. I hope his father tried to ask many times for cutting the hairs.
Just a thought. Anybody can better answer.

      @glennlopez6772 Před 3 lety +14

Many parents don't have the capacity to evaluate the talent or intelligence of their children!
It's considered "wise" to treat their kids as fools so as to "own" them, to be free of insecurity in old age. Departing from this conditioning, they would have to face a judgmental society; for being different or having kids more talented than theirs! Perhaps this is what nepotism thrives on or requires for preservence!
This comment is not a patronising one and it's just that one must learn from what's going on around us, without any bias!
There are the "wise" who will buy, study and implement their meanness derived from "The book of 1001 insults"!
It's sometimes wise to watch u tube videos at up to 2X speed and witness much more!
Many of such videos can be used this way!

Sorry for my long story. But I felt compelled to share it after watching this and seeing some of the comments here.
Bit of backstory: when i was 6 months old my parents divorced and my dad remarried another woman by the time I was around 2. At 3yrs old, i would start to visit my dad every 2 weeks and this would continue until i was 15. Ok to the story...
When i was a boy. Around 9-12 years old, i used to like to draw. I drew faces (eyes, a smiling face, a nose) with different expressions. Sometimes happy, sometimes surprised or angry and so on. I also used to draw stick people because they were easy and i was young. I would also experiment with drawing bubble letters with effects (like flames, or icicles) that were actually pretty good.
Anyway, one day my stepmother saw my drawings and she stood and laughed at me. For a long time, she laughed. She said "they look like pictures of gay men having sex! It looks so silly!" And she went and showed my father. He didnt really defend me because he was always scared i might be gay (i am not, but he was scared anyway). I felt so ashamed for drawing and after that i stopped. I didnt draw anything at all for years. My stepmother was abusive to me (and apparently nobody knew this until much, much later), so this isn't the worst or only thing she did to me as a child, but it is the most relevant for this conversation.
When i was 23 years old i did try to draw again, and 9 years later i still draw as it is therapeutic for me. Now i am trying to improve, but every day i think about what i might draw if i had been encouraged and supported, instead of mocked and torn down. My instagram page has less than 300 followers and i will be too old to try and get people to look at my art, soon. Even if they did, it pointless now because i missed the best time of my life to do drawing and art. No one wants to help support a 30 year old man to "learn" something like that, because they think "he should have made better choices as a child".
I also used to be very good with computers and 3d modeling. I could code programs and do all sorts of things. Mum kept saying "dont waste your time. There are no jobs in computers" so i was never encouraged to do that either. Only ever encouraged to do things i hated or was bad at, like math and science (which is just different math anyway) and mum KNEW i was bad at math because she is bad at math, too. But i never did get very good at it so i failed a lot of tests at school when i would have got much higher marks if i had been allowed to do subjects i wanted to do.
My biggest problem is that, because i LISTENED to these people in my life, now i am nothing and i have nothing. I have no desire to fix anything, either, because it is too late for me to expect/want a wife or a good job. So i am 30 and just waiting to die when i should be in the best years of my life...
Please. If you have children, love and support them no matter what they choose to do. If you don't, understand that nobody else will... and your children may grow up alone with no tools to defend against the harshness of the world, which is not fair.
And if you don't care about what i just said - do the world a favour and don't have children!

Your story triggered me. It relates to mine but in a different scenario. You are only thirty and you are a thinker. Art is always there making you creative in many ways according to your needs and not the viewers' . Block your childhood from your beautiful mind. You can become anybody you dream with art in your heart. You are thirty and I am 70, still alive with many skills just to survive one of them art that gives me life.

But u r projecting 30 yrs of age as if it is 60 years ... I would say u just need to motivate yourself and at least now do whatever the hell u want to do ...
