What do think of MultiTrackStudio?
Cakewalk by Bandlab is astonishing. I was recently chatting with a producer friend and he was listing all the thing a free DAW couldn't do. I let him go on then told him CW could do everything he'd just mentioned. He asked what the catch was and we honestly couldn't find one, apart from it being PC only.
Yeah I think that it’s only available on PC is the only catch. It’s incredible that they give it away free and they don’t even spam our email accounts trying to upsell us on anything.
No more bro they gonna charge for it soon.
@somerandomfatguy.3384 yes, things change quickly!
@@somerandomfatguy.3384yessir the app I use is not free anymore
I just started researching music making as I plan on doing it as a hobby, but what is a CW?
I'm making the switch from a really old Mac back to PC for music production so this really helps. I've bought magix music studio premium as on paper it's all I need. Switching from Logic though may take some time but I'll try my best. This video is reassuring for the many options available on windows. Thanks 👍
Thanks again for your time and help making these recording videos.
Dude you're awesome, thank you so much for this info! Definitely gave it the thumbs up and subscribed!
Thank you so much for all this info, I think I'm gonna enjoy this journey
The point about what works for you cannot be underestimated! Over the last 2 years I've been getting into home production (guitars, vocals, midi keyboards, drum samples plus learning about what makes a better mix). I've majored on Cakewalk, Reaper and Waveform because they suit my needs best having earlier been a user of Logic 9 on a Mini-Mac that has now departed this world! Brief thoughts on my top 3:
Cakewalk - Phenomenal, Pro-channel is really useful, there is so much "under the hood" to discover. However, I still get lost and frustrated at times.
Reaper - A studio owning friend uses this all the time. It is great, tons of really good tutorials on CZcams, it does everything I want and more. However, I really get frustrated with the interface and workflow, so I've decided it isn't for me
Waveform 12 Free - a gamechanger with the upgrade from version 11 in terms of workflow, I can do things so quickly and intuitively. Plus now you can buy elements of the pro-version to add on. Now my DAW of choice and the one I'm getting deeper into.
I did try Studio 1 as it came free with some kit - OK but I preferred Cakewalk. Pro Tools intro, to be honest I'd only use this if I thought I might go on to buy the full Pro Tools, which in my opinion is overkill for a home set up. Audacity is much too limited unless you are just doing a few tracks.
Soundbridge looks like has come on a lot in the last year since it reached v2. If I was still looking for a free DAW to concentrate on I think I'd seriously consider trying it.
Thanks to Zane for an excellent channel that has inspired me greatly in the last 12 months!
I remember Cakewalk from the 90s. Glad to hear that it's free now. We used it at work as part of our test suite. Audacity has been around for a long time as well.
Amazing video and awesome explanation. Thank you so much for this, it helped me a lot.
This is awesome bro actually preciate u just throwing all this info out there
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching and taking the time to comment. Keep creating! 👊👍
You are wholesome man, thank you for the video and have a nice day
THANK YOU FOR THIS! I am having so much trouble putting melodies and music together for my lryics, hoping to have new tracks done asap!!!
I hope you find a program that can help you get your tracks done. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
You do great videos, everytime! Thank you! I worked several weeks with Audacity but found setting the latency correction to be extremely time consuming. Then it changed again when I went from mic to guitar line in. Have not found the way to drag a track to syncronize. So I will try several other DAWs mentioned here.
This is so helpful, thank you so much!
Glad it helped. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Sir, I've been looking for a free/affordable option because I wanted to migrate to a new DAW and this video was just by far the best one I've seen. Straightforward and giving all that you need to know. Amazing video!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Thank you so much! Amazing content :)

I'm a die hard FL guy but I'd definitely take Waveform Tracktion under my wing. Can't go wrong with actually bar measures in the piano roll.
Great Helpful Video... Subscribed!!
Glad you enjoyed the video. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
This was excellent. Thank you

Tracktion Waveform is excellent. I remember learning some about it in 2022 from your channel.
A few times in 2022 and again in 2023, I got tired of checking if Akai ever fixed the download link giver for MPC Beats. The only way I ever got a download link for that was through MAudio Software Manager. I don't know why anyone would want MPC Beats.
I’ve been using studio one artist for a two years and I’m ready to upgrade
They just announced that Cakewalk will no longer be free, they have two new options but wont release a price till closer to release date :(
Yup. And the one option looks like it’s going to be the exact same as the existing cakewalk but with improved graphics. Hopefully the price won’t be too crazy.
Jesus where was this vid when I was in highschool!!!! Thanks man been lookin for a DAW to make some tunes with
You using names like that over a daw
Yet another great video.
I've been wanting to switch up to a 64bit DAW for years, but I am put off by the learning curve / time! I work mainly with audio, usually bounced from MIDI & VST's. I've used Cubase since year dot, I know it inside out, but I really don't like the look of the more recent versions? Hopefully this video might just help give me the push I need!
Cheers Z.
I hope you can find a program that you like. I’m sure with your experience working with early Cubase, the learning curve shouldn’t be too hard. I found early versions of Cubase to be clunky and the newer versions (and other newer DAWs) have made things a lot more smooth.
Good luck. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
What’s the best app to use when you new on getting started with music production
@Hrh_riches they all kind of operate similarly. You should look at the options available, choose one or two that you think you would like to use, poke around a bit and see what feels best for you then learn whichever one you like best.
Hi! I am sticking with Cakewalk from more than month now. Looks amazing compare to others DAWs (tried many many free daws). With many tutorials on the yt, like from Bongonzo and from AdK Studios or many many informations about free plugins from DixonBeats, this Cakewalk DAW has everything I need to make what I call "a music". BTW, I have used Ableton live lite but this limitations kills this DAW. And, at the end, there is no FL Studio free version SADDLY (not interested in demo mode). I have used fruity loops in ~2000+ to make beats + Magic Music Maker to glue all parts together. See U next time Friend!
I do wonder if you could use Live Lite and one of the other DAWs to glue everything together.
May i ask if youve had your account since 2017? i installed but when i went to make an account found out theyre out of business and account creation is disabled. Curious how you got it to work
@@sgtsandwich1272 tube removed my answer. Nice
I used to use Cakewalk for awhile before i got tired of it and my friend decided to give me a cracked version of ableton 11 haha I am so fucking grateful, I am in LOVE with Ableton, if I ever replace my laptop with a stronger pc I will definitely pay for Ableton properly though
@@pierrenagonio1120 Yea yea thats what he gave me, Ableton Live Suite 11 😍
Cakewalk is awesome! I can't believe it's free..
I love watching these videos about free stuff, because it gives me a glimpse of what' out there. I use Cubase 12 Pro myself, but these videos always interest me. I do have to say though, I cannot stand the look of Waveform lol It annoys my eyes too much. lol
Jack can synchronize LMMS with Ardour, Hydrogen, Audacity, etc.. that's amazing.
Really liking this video as it really helps me find some sites to try for and to be a little bit easier but also sounding a bit hard.
As I got a question for anybody or just for you, I'm autistic and it makes me a bit hard to understanding things but in my case it's more of numbers and sometimes remembering things. So my question is which would be best for someone like me to use?
Also I'm on a laptop but it does have a 1 tb in it and not sure if one of these are something that it can handle.
Your laptop should be fine for working on music. As for best program for you, I’m not too sure because everyone is different. My son is autistic and he started making music on his iPad with GarageBand. He picked it up on his own and showed me how to use it. He was 5 when he started. GarageBand is only available on iOS or Mac OS though and it might not be the one for you.
You might like Ableton Live with the clip launcher if you’re trying to make electronic music. But it’s not free unless you get the Lite version included with a midi keyboard or audio interface. But you can download a free demo that is fully unlocked for 90 days.
You also might want to try FL Studio. Again this one isn’t free but you can get the demo which is fully unlocked except you can’t load saved projects until you purchase it. But it can give you a good idea of what it’s all about.
If you’re wanting to record instruments into the software and make rock styles of music then give cakewalk, waveform, and studio one a try.
All of the programs are going to have learning curves to them so if you are serious, stick with it and don’t get discouraged early on. Once you start to understand the basic concepts it will get easier.
Good luck!
@@AudioTechTV Awesome, thanks for answering my question and going to give them a try.
thanks very valuable, I a totaly new y us audacity for playing my audio, but no as DAW, I would like to formaly work in audio, is PRO TOOL the one to work in a team or project ? I will use only one to start and later if i am required to evaluate and move to other
What do you think of MultiTrackStudio?
Liked and sub'd! One feature of Tracktion Waveform that I really like is the 'abort' button and the 'abort and restart' buttons, for use when recording audio. Have you found any other free or low-cost DAW with this feature? Another must-have feature I need, is the ability to mark individual tracks, when playing back multi-track recordings.Have you found one that has this feature?
Thanks for your endless supply of source videos. I am not a professional and like to tinker. I've found some good stuff from your videos.
What would be a good one for sax recording music?
Man I just want to tell you thanks for your awesome videos and Information you share; I means a lot, I would also say it's almost overwhelming hahahah. Thanks man, keep up the good Work, God bless you man, I pray for the best...🥰❤
Glad you enjoy the videos. Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
Kind of unrelated but is it possible to output tracks to multiple outputs? I have 8 outputs on my interface that I want to send to 4 different headphone mixes. Can I set tracks to output all or more than one source?
Just a dumb question from a novise gen x. I record my stuff myself, so never really done any plugins or much effects, and also work completely offline most of the time. These work offline? I never use anything that must be online.
@Audio Tech TV I use Magix Music Software I make beats from this but converting it into midi is not so easy, But I have never seen the midi tool.
Hi 🌷
Can you show us how to Quantise the beats in cakewalk 🙏🏻
i just need to fiddle a couple pieces of songs together for my course of studies to become a dance teacher. wich one of all these would be good for that ?
What DAW would you reccomend for like hiphop type of beat?
Hello. Thanks for the overview. As a beginner trying to get my feet wet with the whole process it still kinda feels overwhelming (which is all on me, not the video!). Which one would you recommend for a complete newbie? Thanks for the help and the content
What I recommend depends on what your overall goal is. Are you just wanting to mess around a bit and have fun every now and then? Or are you wanting to get into music production and take it more serious eventually? Also what type of music are you wanting to create? Will you be recording vocals and real world instruments (guitar, bass, etc) or are you just working inside the box with virtual instruments and maybe some sounds that you download?
If you're wanting to get serious eventually and you're just at the start of this journey, I would recommend diving into a more traditional program like maybe Cakewalk by Bandlab (get it now before they start charging for it), or maybe go for Pro Tools Intro which is a great option and also Reaper can be great. they may seem a little overwhelming at the start but once you get over that initial learning curve it will all start to make sense.
If you're just wanting to have some fun every now and then and not really record audio in then maybe try an online DAW like Bandlab or a basic downloadable program like MPC Beats.
If you want something that can be sort of in between but actually still be great when you get more serious then Waveform Free could be a good option. Presonus Studio One Prime is great except you can't use any instruments or fx that you download until you upgrade to a paid version.
If you have an audio interface that came with Ableton Live Lite it's a great option to start with too.
I really recommend trying a few programs and see what you like best.
Good luck. thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
I want to make beats and combine them with audio samples that I rip from CZcams videos. Which program is best for that?
worked bro
Which of these would you recommend for someone who has almost 0 experience with DAWs? I want to learn it together with my son (about Kindergarten age) so whichever is the absolute easiest is what I'd want to use. I don't anticipate needing any extra fancy plugins or sounds; mostly just want to get the hang of using a DAW and create some simple fun EDM-ish music (or even just mess around with creating some basic chords that he's learning in piano lessons).
If you have an iPad GarageBand seems to be pretty easy to get started with. My son started creating music in it when he was 5 and I didn’t show him anything he just started on his own.
If you want one on your computer. I would recommend trying FL Studio. It’s not free but you can use it in demo mode which is unlocked you just can’t load saved projects. It should give you a good idea of what it’s all about and then you can purchase later if you want.
For free ones you can try Magix Music Maker. It can give you a decent start to making electronic music and it has features that are a little more advanced that you can use as your skills grow.
Most DAWs have a similar workflow and the basics will be very similar it’s just a matter of the workflow being different and included FX, instruments, & sounds will be different.
@@AudioTechTV Thank you, I have zero experience and trying to figure out the best software, Other than FL what's a free software for beginners that you're allowed to save your projects
Hi I have a curious question what would be the best Music software for me to make like cinematic or movie like soundtracks cuz I wanna starting making my own music for my stopmotion videos I make do you have any suggestions?
Any of these would work for any audio recording. Of course, each process will be a little different considering what you're doing.
Far oot eh! Thanks!
What else would I need besides the software, any recommendation on speakers? mic??
It kind of depends on the type of music you plan on making or working with. Here is a video on first gear to buy for your studio czcams.com/video/Wsklwkm_3mo/video.html
Which free daw do you recommend the most for making pop punk songs?
Hi guys .. just wanba know if u can get a TAB view from a midi track
Which software would be better to make techno??
Which of of these can you use offline? I have a laptop and sometimes my Internet is spotty because of my location so I need one I can do offline. I tried cakewalk but it says I need Internet service when I open it.
How good is soundbridge?
your app bar says Waveform PRO while talking about the Free version :) So you prefer the PRO yourself after all, as in being extra value?
I can’t install both free and pro on my system and I do videos on both so it always shows Pro. But personally I don’t really use much of the pro features. I use the arranger track which is a pro feature. But if I didn’t have that I would just use markers which is what I used to do before I got pro. Another Pro feature that I use now is remove silence. It speeds up my workflow but I got by without it for years. I could easily just use the features available in the free version and be happy.
What would you recommend for someone (very beginner level mind) wanting to get into making synthwave style retro music? This isn't something I want to invest money into, just a very casual thing. Would the Cakewalk program suffice for that? I'd need lots of synthesizer sounds and whatnot. Again, I'm new at this and am just wanting to try dipping my toe in and see what it's all about.
Pretty much any of the programs will work for what you want to do. I would recommend trying out Cakewalk to see if you like it. If you grab it now it's still free but that may change in the near future. So get it now and you'll be good once the change happens. Also I recommend Tracktion Waveform Free. Both of those programs will allow you to have unlimited tracks and bring in other instrument plugins or effect plugins that you might download. They are great places to start.
Stupid question but as someone who has almost no expierience with github, how did you actually get stargate installed?
which one yall recommend best
You missed out by not including Mixcraft by Acoustica. Simple but powerful and includes video editing and loops.
When did Mixcraft become free??? It wasn’t free when this video was made.
hello nice video, i saved it in a playlist, excuse me .. do you know Ardour ?
Yes I know Ardour. It’s been around for quite a long time.
I tried to use cakewalk but I keep getting a localhost error no matter what browser I try to activate with :C
Downloaded free Pro Tools. I'm not finding any obvious way of assigning my vst folders to it. As for Ableton, every single time I attempt to download that, something turkeys out at the very end of the process, and it fails to "take". I own a serial # for it. I allow of course that this may be due to user error, but I go thru the stages it asks for. I'm not trying to be a drag or a troll, lol, just relating my experience. Thanks for posting, cheers! Reaper is perfect; never had any meaningful problems with that one. It'll do this cute thing where the master channel stops hearing the trax, and I'll have to restart, but that only happens seldomly. The Pro Tools layout is a bit bizarre and convoluted to me.
Pro Tools won’t see your VST plugins. Pro Tools uses AAX plugins. If you’re purchasing plugins, most of them come with the AAX version. Not all free plugins have AAX versions though.
I have no idea what might be going on with your Ableton download.
If you like Reaper then continue to use it. Nothing wrong with that. You might also want to give Cakewalk by Bandlab a try. You can still get it for free and if you get it now then you can continue to use it for free even when they stop the free version.
Please tell me how I can get rid of latency on cakewalk
what program would you suggest to create shoegaze/dreamcore type of music?
I really like Shoegaze music so that's awesome that you're going to be recording it. At the moment I would recommend checking out Waveform Free as it allows you to use unlimited tracks and bring in any effects plugins or instruments plugins that you might download. It also comes with some basic but decent fx too. I would also recommend checking out Cakewalk by Bandlab. At the moment it is still free and if you get it right now you can continue using it. But they are going to be taking away the free option shortly and have a couple of new programs in the works. So check out the current Cakewalk by Bandlab and grab it now while it's free but just know that it will not be updated in the future once they release the newer versions that will be paid options.
@@AudioTechTV Thank you so much!! Currently using Cakewalk and just getting the hang on the settings. Can’t thank you enough ! :)
Cakewalk for me has been pointless, after 4 days of trying, I just can't get any sound on playback. So I'm going to try the Pro Tools Intro next, fingers crossed.
Hey my name is Jason have a question for you so you really did a good job with the daw on the list but you left one out it's called mixcraft they have a few versions of it me personally think that it's the best DAW on that list so if you can give it a review I guarantee you will love it
It’s not a free DAW therefore not on this list of free DAWs. I am quite familiar with it. If you go to their channel and checkout Mixcraft 10 University, I’m the one doing the videos for 10. Series 202 should be released very soon.
I do have some Mixcraft content planned for this channel too, I’ve just been trying to get all the Mixcraft University videos done first.
Thank you for watching. Keep creating! 👊👍
which one is the lightest? i just need them for live streaming. not making music :D i need an answer thanks
If you just need something very basic, Audacity is very light. Waveform is also pretty light on resources too.
Which DAW can I work on it for Epic, Dramatical, Ambient etc ?
And I will be appreciated if I can use my DAWS musics for my own business
I am an FL Studio user (cracked version of course). Now I want to have a legal version of a software and I downloaded waveform free. So far I am loving it. It is not as intuitive as FL Studio but I am liking the workflow. It is very different but not hard to memorize. I made one track with soundbridge but the problem is it always crashes and it is really hard to program midi. The piano roll is not rezisable and it's interface even though simple is not that responsive
Cracked version from where bro ?
I liked free Waveform until some update they did made it so if a plugin is located too far over in the list, it's window will crash when you try to click it. So, being now useless, I got rid of it.
Any IDM producers in here? If so what daw do you use?
Im a inexperienced person with Daws i just want to upload beats and record myself rapping or singing what would u suggest?
If you just want the easiest thing then you could try Audacity.
How's the quality?
The quality would be as good as you record into it. If you record good quality then it will be good quality.
If you want to get into into mixing and creating beats then this would not be a good choice but if you are looking to just record yourself rapping overtop of a backing track then this is the easiest.
If you’re looking at creating beats yourself then you might want to check out FL Studio. You can try the demo which is unlocked you just can’t open saved projects.
Thank u I appreciate u 💯💪🏾
Is it possible to create a rock music with free vst and midi only? No real instrument involved?
It’s probably possible to do that. I think the hardest part would be to find convincing virtual guitar instruments. I know there are some good ones out there though. Drums, bass, Synths, pianos and other instruments would be very easy to do though.
hi my name is Areanna and i have a question i was trying to connect my audio interface to my computer and its not showing up like yours when i put my cord in it didn't do anything
Try going to the manufactures website and see if they have an updated driver for it. You want an Asio driver.
Studio one prime sounds good
It’s a great program! To get the prime version you download the demo for studio on pro and during the install there is the option to install prime instead of the demo.
I thought Studio One was a really great DAW too. I bought Studio One Artist and loved it until Presonus (the company) decided I didn't need it any more and automatically disconnected the paid features. It kept popping up that my account was invalid and I would need to upgrade if I wanted to keep using it. After many attempts were made to prove I paid for the software I finally gave up on ever trusting Presonus again. Worst costumer relations ever.
Hello
How to record mono in scarllette 2i2 on ipad?
Record a single input onto a mono track in whatever app you use.
Wanted to try out/start using ProTools, but my studio PCs run Winblows (sic!)7 Professional, and there doesn't seem to be a version for that, only Winblows10.... So I looked at CakeWalk-- their compatibility only goes back to 8.1 (the **worst** OS since Win'95!!)-- So I guess I'm stuck with Audacity & its slow, clunky multitracking!! 🤨 Blessed Be, & Peace!! 🙏 ☮
I think Cakewalk should work on Windows 7 as it is an older program. Even though windows 7 may not be mentioned as a supported OS. You can try installing and see what happens. Also Reaper should work on Windows 7 too. Almost anything is better than audacity.
@@AudioTechTV I agree-- I got started with Audacity in the late '90s editing the audio for radio commercials (as on-air talent... nowadays **everything** is sat-feed & sindicated [sic!] 😲, hence why I am no longer in broadcasting!) , so I am more familiar with it-- One thing that has already soured me on ProTools is the fact that I hadta create an account with them **&** do some iLok thingy (they're datamining!!) before I even got to the download page, and I don't want to install on my main I'net PC (which *is* a W10 machine), but am unsure as to how I could save to a thumbdrive and transfer to my studio (the three PCs there are *NOT* online!)... Any thoughts on that? 🤔
just wanted to point ot that Soundbridge is not in beta anymore so now there is a 10 track limit (which i hate alot) and there is a paid version of it.
I have another video on that and also to note is that Cakewalk will no longer be free soon too.
@@AudioTechTV aww i just downloaded it!
@Bidombamb if you get it now you can continue to use that free version for as long as you want but there wouldn’t be any updates for it.
Hello, I have one question. What is the best program if I just want to use the midikeyboard as a piano for now?
Synthesia
Does Pro Tools run VST3s?
No. Pro Tools uses AAX plugins. Most plugins are available in AAX except for some of the free ones.
After making music on this studio can copy Right claim happen ?
Only if you use copyright material. Or do cover songs without getting the proper license.
thank you
Waveform 12, 2023 can load video file, wich you can't get on oldest version of this cool DAW program.
The older versions could load some video but it wasn’t really good. Waveform 12.5 handles video really well.
Where can I find the video of the best music programs that costs?
Here’s a video with a mix of premium and free programs czcams.com/video/35z8LXXBgsM/video.html
Whck one would ou cinsider to be the best out of the lists
There are 3 that I really like on this list and I actually use. Tracktion Wavefrom Free is very easy to use and has everything that I need. I am currently working on a full album in there and haven’t thought that I’m missing anything.
Cakewalk by Bandlab is super powerful and packed full of pro features. Probably the most complete, professional, option in this list. It is still free but they plan on switching it to a paid program soon. If you get it now you will be able to continue to use it for free for as long as you like without support or updates.
Pro Tools Intro is excellent and a pro level daw but it does have track limitations. If you think you can work within those limitations then it can be great. I have been getting back into Pro Tools lately and this free version is excellent. You should try 2 or 3 and see what works best for you.
Also if you purchased an interface or piece of gear that included Ableton Live Lite, Cubase LE, or Studio One Artist, they are worth a try too.
Thank you i actually went with cakewalk and I love it I used to have soundbridge but cakewalk is more professianal@@AudioTechTV
these free daws that do not record audio.... but can have audio imported... can the midi tracks be turned into an audio track?
No. You already may know this, but MIDI isn't sound. It's play data/instructions. It's not anything remotely close to being what digital audio is. It's not like going from one audio format to another audio format.
MIDI to Audio is like speaking English and having someone talk to you in Mandarin.
@@johnsuggs7828 huh what in the world are you talking about? I render the audio from midi tracks ALL THE TIME. it turns the midi track into an audio track, ableton calls it "freeze'.I frequently have all kinds of automation going, and plugins on a track, so turning it into audio lessens the load on the computer.
not sure what you thought I was asking, but its pretty clear.
@@xisotopex Actually you're not converting the MIDI but rather the Audio from the instrument that is playing the MIDI notes. That's not the same thing
@@johnsuggs7828 thats what I am fricken saying and not what I am asking
@@xisotopex youvasked can midi tracks be turned into audio tracks. You're question is fuckin vague and lacking in specificity. I've been recording audio since before MIDI was a thing. Almost 40 years. You need to friggin relax.
I'm not so audio-design savvy, but do any of these free programs come with options to quantize samples? For example, if I want to create a dance track and I'm using a sample that doesn't appear to have a fixed BPM where the BPM drifts a little during the track or sample, that the software automatically corrects that or offers an option to quantize it manually?
And if you like old school, try Tuareg or Tuareg 2. Great phrase samplers, Tu2 has a couple synths. Lots of limitations but you can load samples and slice them up, and create some neat drum & bass, trance, hiphop, or whatever. Used to cost money, it's now free. Uploaded it to the Archive along with some other rare apps. Also uploaded some synths that can be used to generate wav or raw files and stuff that can be loaded into Tuareg. Tuareg doesn't like some of the newer sound samples, but it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
Ardour is a full, complete DAW and it's free with a bug screen or you can get it for $1.
There are lots of “free” programs that go silent after so many minutes. They are all demos and I didn’t want to include every demo on here. If you like using a free demo that’s great, use whatever works best for you.
Thank you for pointing out Reaper is not free. Others keep saying it is a free DAW.
i have yet to find an actually free one. any luck?
Do you mean a free DAW or a free version of Reaper? If the latter, Reaper's version 0.99 is available online at many sites.
Which is easiest for absolute beginners?
There really isn’t an “easiest” one. They all have learning curves to them and what might be easiest for me, may not be the easiest for you.
When I first started I found FL Studio to be the easiest to start with. But as I went along, I found that it wasn’t the right fit for me and the music that I wanted to create. I recommend trying out 2 or 3 and see what works best for you.
Thanks 🙂
@@AudioTechTV wat is a gud start i dont have any monye:( and wat worked for you?
@@Pro-xm8jb what type of music do you want to create? Will you be recording real instruments and vocals in?
@@AudioTechTV nah prob not just wanna make indie game music:)
Cakewalk is “available to everyone?” It says on their website that there is no current Windows version. What am I missing?
Not sure what website you’re on but Cakewalk by Bandlab is only available on Windows. Search for Cakewalk by Bandlab and make sure you go to the Bandlab site to get it.
Cakewalk is the best
Back in 90s it costs around 499$
I want something thats most like fl studio someone give me recommendations
The most like FL Studio is probably LMMS. But you can’t record audio directly into it. If you just work with virtual instruments and samples or loops then it should work fine.
Actually, Studio One Artist is included with a lot of hardware, so it could be included also....
It’s included with some Presonus Auduo interfaces and products. I wouldn’t say a lot. And also Ableton Live Lite is included with those same interfaces so it is a lot more common as so much hardware comes with it.
I did do another video on free DAWs that come with audio interfaces though and I do think Studio One Artist is an incredible bundled DAW.
So, basically Reaper is the Winrar of music production? 😂
Reaper is free…😏
i just gave u a 1 sub lifetime suply
something i never wanted to do... choose a new DAW... I have used ableton live for YEARS, but I can no longer upgrade. thanks ableton... I am on ableton 8.... should I really just bite the bullet and upgrade? there isnt anything that 8 doesnt do that I need... what free daw is the closest to live 8?
I am even tempted to find a an old xp machine and use that... bring all my 32 bit plugins back to life...
If you use the Clip Launcher (Session View) then you’ll want Cakewalk by Bandlab. It’s has a clip launcher and is completely unlimited. It has way more features than Ableton Live 8 and it can even handle 32 bit plugins (sometimes it’s hit and miss depending on the plugin though).
@@AudioTechTV I NEVER use the clip launch thingy, only the timeline...it would be nice to bring some of those 32 bit plugins back from the dead! oh I remember the heady days of synthedit!
just looked at the ableton page and the live11 suite isnt that expensive.. but cakewalk definitely seems worth a try for sure! do you have any videos using it?
If you don’t use the clip launcher then I would also recommend trying Tracktion Waveform too. Give both Cakewalk and Waveform a try.

@@AudioTechTV thanks. watching your tutorial now...
Reaper is the best
plz suggest me a free DAW....I am a beginner...plz plz
Cakewalk or Tracktion Waveform are the best fully-featured free DAWs out there. Traktion, IMO is easier to use and learn.
Here I am still using audacity 😩😂
