I believeone of Nike's other outfits Doc Marten's came up with air cells in footwear way before the AJ1. The namesake of that brand was a surgeon who came up with it for the factory workers in England. With all the Jordan moolah fattening the coffers, Nike acquired that brand and in short order Cole-Haan.
