I'm back after a long hiatus! I started the channel this year with loads of enthusiasm and ideas, and then COVID struck out of nowhere! Half my ideas revolved around travel and here I am, in lockdown for over five months - that's an interesting twist of events :D
So I improvised. I plan to bring you content from this #newnormal life rather than waiting for the day I get the guts to board a plane (which is going to be a longgg time away).
This quarantine I was such a couch potato and finally decided I need to get the bike as a substitue for working out! And it's been the best decision ever!!
After a huge research process, I ended up getting the ELOPS 520 LOW FRAME CITY BIKE in Denim Blue. I named her Alya, which means Heaven/Sky. Symbolic representation to how she looks and makes me feel 😌 LOL.
Did you know the biking population around the world went up drastically after COVID? 😂 There are many reasons for this:
1. you avoid public transport in the middle of pandemic
2. it gives you a reason to enjoy fresh air after being cooped up for so long
3. its a good gym substitute!

I got my new one only a week ago I am 70 and really enjoy cycling after an absence of 6 yrs this bike is so easy to ride and very comfortable

I've got the black version, it's advertised as a low city bike suitable for people 155cm and upwards, and I'm 5ft, so it is on the smaller side, but still really big for me!! 😁

@@Yasmin-wq5jh Hi, there's only one size and it is huge. Because you're two inches taller than me, it might be fine. But I've compared my bike tires to other bikes and they are really big.
Also, if you buy it from Decathlon, you can't return it after riding it, and I had to test it so I couldn't return it either.
It is very comfy though.
@@hanat4766 thank you for replying!! Really appreciate it, i am a little worried now because I am afraid my feet may not touch the ground, do yours touch the ground enough? I am still learning to cycle so am nervous. I have opted for the unisex frame of the elops 100 which comes in one size and it seems to have the same measurements as the usual s/m bikes from decathlon

Hi, great video, thanks for the information. Two questions: is the bike very heavy? It says 20 kg on the website which i think is quite heavy if you want to go up a little hill or carry the bike down the basement. Also: would it be possible to attach another basket in the front?
Hi! The bike isn’t heavy at all. You can see me on the video, I can’t handle heavy weights 😄 but this is super light to manage. No issues there even if u have to carry it down.
Attaching another basket in the front other than the basket which is already there? I’m not sure how it will work ? #curious But the guys at decathlon might help? :-?

Hi, thanks for the video. Is the seat adujstable? Worried about it being too high. The only bike left is size L, and i' 167cm.
Thank you!! 😇🤍 Yes, the seat height is adjustable. I’m thinking size L should be fine for 167cm.. but depends on if your leg reaches easily or not. Try it once at the store before you purchase, to better be safe! Let me know :)) Happy riding! 🥳

Yes. But I doubt if that’s to do with the bike.. The right gear setting helps, but you have to figure out what’s the best gear setting for you- that’s why I didn’t mention that.

Does the bike arrived assembled or do you have to assemble everything by yourself?
I collected it directly from the store. But if you go for home delivery, it will come assembled. Ready to ride!

@@sharu4ever i got mine yesterday and i took mine there too! I have the same bike and asked them why it kept squeaking. Turns out it needs to break in a little bit (meaning you need to ride it a bit more) and the squeaking will go away instantly :)
