So, i guess because of that. Now, you are well versed with Present Perfect tense? Isn't it?
All the best :)
@@FUD1155 I give more examples in my latest video - if you like football, please take a look.
@HoOligan I suppose so. But I believe with could use it with Present Perfect as a slight different meaning.
Yes.
Let me be frank I have tried many lessons on youtube to advance my English grammar, but I never came across anyone who is better than ms. Rebecca. she is my favorite teacher.
After over 40 years, I finally learned the difference between these two things. One of the things I love about life is that you keep learning no matter your age. As the saying goes, experience is my best teacher, but Rebecca is my best English teacher.
Thank you so much, Teacher Rebecca,
Rebecca is a great English teacher. She's kind of an English authority or expert and hence it's mandatory for students to benefit from her vast knowledge in English. Viva teacher Rebecca!
I agree, not only students, I’m a teacher and I watch the way she elicits Grammar to use it in my class
Believe it or not - I`ve been studying English from 1-st grade and somehow managed to get through all the tests/exams and never truly figuring out what are the differences between these two tenses. I know this is ridiculous, but this is true. I`m immensely grateful to you for parsing out the minutiae and taking the time to explain it. I have to be honest, I feel confused a bit, since I basically have to forget all the info that I have learned through the years and learn these simple things de novo. Again, big thanks for your work!
Are you a native English speaker? I speak Portuguese, and I'm learning English 😊
@@emilymartins618 I'm Ukrainian native, good luck with your studying!
De novo ?? What's that buddy? lol

Same dude, and I'm even worse since I've been studying English for like 10 years and I still can't distinguish these two. It feels awful
You’re the best teacher I haven’t seen like you Rebbeca. Thank you very much for your good lesson.

Wow! I enjoyed this lesson, and it has lessened my writing insecurity. This past simple and present simple has been a headache when I write. Thank you for making this easier for all these people who maybe have been struggling with it. For example, when did you get this job, and how long have you had this job are the perfect examples.
I really love this series. I've never had a progress in this topic since I started this. THANK YOU SO MUCH

Love from Philippines ❤
She's clearly explained difference between past and present perfect. I have struggled for many year and now I feel good. thank you Rebecca.
wow, it's amazing, I understand why you have the two(three?) past relating expression for the first time. Someone told me your flight had gone to me. I notice now she wanted to tell me I did not have at that time. There were a difference. Thank you.
Hi everyone,
i always struggle with these tenses. I know exactly how they are built.
However i face quite some problems using them especially in speaking. But this lesson helped me utterly.
I think the general take away for everyone who has the problems that i have should be:
Past Simple -> focus past,
Present Perfect -> focus now, What are the consequnces of this action?
I hope i undestand it correctly.
For example:
A:Have you watched the video?
B:Yes, i have.
A:What do you think about this lesson? Did you learn something interesting?
(So, i assume that. Someone have seen the video that means they are well versed with video. I can ask what they think about it. )
Am i right? Can anyone confirm it?
I wish you all the best in learning English.
Have a super sparkly day.
My respected great teacher, Rebecca, you have become part of my daily routine! ❤️
You made everything about the topic crystal clear. I have watched so many videos on this topic but this one is by far the best .
I love these PROFESSORA she explains very clear her subjects 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
thanks to you, i am now can see the difference between those two😭
When I was young I learned English but I have forgotten and now I’m training to learn again
good luck! internet makes learning languages so easy :)
Brilliant! Absolutely brilliant! My first language is Russian and the language has only three times: past, present and future. So, these subtleties are SO IMPORTANT to know!
You are an absolutely wonderful, excellent, and amazing professor! Pedagogy, psychology, methodology, and your beautiful charisma at work. THANK YOU SO MUCH, REBECCA!!!
Today at class we correct the quiz of past simple and present perfect and it was one sentence that i must put the correct tense in :
Since I (came) here, I (study) in this school.
I put both of the verbs in present perfect cause they're two actions unfinished and we have the key since.
But the teacher tell us that the first verb must be in past simple , I'm confused now which is correct and why?
Thank you for the explanation.
Well, you came in the past, and it's a finished action, but you are still studying in this school, this is why study should be in present perfect.(as far as I understood)
Thank you very much. I 've learned alot from you. I understood it very well ❤️
You're the best teacher ever
I'm a pretty oldman from Kerala India. I'm a retired teacher of English. In India people take the present perfect tense for a past tense form. Ma'am clearly made us understand that in the present perfect tense we are not interested in the past action but in the present result of the past action. I think the teacher could have given more concrete examples. Thank you ma'am.
Omg you are amazing thank you very much I finally understand this ❣️ and yeh I subscribe 🥰
I would have liked a teacher so good in high school.
She is the best! Now after many years of experience with all kinds of teachers, I finally got it!
Thank you!!!!
I am from Ethiopia, Africa. I have got a lot of information from you. Your smile, ways of narration .... are very fantastic
Thanks a lot, that was a really good review of those two tenses 😊
You are the best Rebecca, yours amazing...i love you, greetings from Argentina!!!!😘😘😘
Like football? Please take a look at my channel... my latest video is about the same topic (past simple v present perfect) but I use Pele, Ronaldo, Messi and Maradona as examples.
I have seen many English teachers in my life, but you are the best for sure!
